Chapter 250: Princess Is Mine Just As I Am Hers
Faye’s POV
I knew it. Kiara had no good intentions, but she hasn’t played any dirty games on me trying to steal Princess from me, even if she happened to be annoying.
Then, realizing that she did something to Beam, making her date someone else just like that after I had seen Beam go crazy for her.... Beam even started a fight with some night walker all because of jealousy. She had literally schemed and risked her life just to keep people away from Kiara, and now she was suddenly walking around with some random girl like none of that history ever happened. It didn’t make any sense at all.
I stared into the babies’ bassinet. They were busy sleeping peacefully, and one was busy suckling his sister’s thumb. The small smacking sound of his lips was the only noise in the quiet room. I tried removing her thumb from his mouth, gently tugging the tiny hand away so she wouldn’t get hurt, but then he began to cry, his little eyebrows bunching up in absolute frustration, and I had to leave him be. He immediately went back to suckling, his small chest rising and falling with a deep, content breath.
I can’t believe all four of them fit in the bassinet... well, all four were inside me, so I’m not surprised. My belly felt completely empty and loose now, a strange contrast to the heavy, kicking weight I had been carrying around for the last nine months.
"So you should be careful and never trust that family. They might not have the strength of an Alpha, but their minds are far more dangerous than an Alpha..."
My brother’s voice brought me out of my little moment with my pups. He leaned forward on his couch, his words slicing right through my thoughts as he tried to lecture me about the Petro family.
Seeing him sit where Princess sits all the time, when she’s holding the pups... The sight of him in that exact chair was making my chest tighten up with irritation.
It made me remember when Princess placed all four on her. She had leaned all the way back against those exact couch, her broad chest acting like a massive, warm mattress for our children. She was careful while taking care of them as I slept. She hadn’t even blinked, holding her breath whenever one of them shifted so she wouldn’t wake them up. When I opened my eyes, I couldn’t help but smile at the way she was. She was happy having them close to her. Her eyes had been so bright and soft, completely locked onto their tiny faces.
I know he’s my brother, but as long as Princess is outside, I am not going to be in the right state of mind. My pulse was still racing, my eyes constantly jumping back to the door, waiting for the handle to turn.
"Paye, please sit on the two-seater one," I said. My voice was sharp, leaving absolutely no room for negotiation as I pointed across the room.
He stopped talking, then stood up and sat on the other couch. He dragged his feet slightly, his shoulders slumping as he let out a loud, dramatic sigh.
"I can’t believe you made her your everything... I used to be your everything," he muttered while sitting down. He crossed his arms over his chest, looking like a total drama queen as he glared at the empty space beside my bed.
"You are still my everything... and Princess too. I love you both equally." I said, rolling my eyes at his childish display.
"Doesn’t seem like it..." he sang out. He turned his head toward the window, pulling his phone out of his pocket to pretend he had better things to do.
Finally, Princess entered the room. The door swung open smoothly, and the familiar, warm scent flooded the space, instantly making the tight knot in my chest dissolve. The first thing she did was hug me, kissing me on the forehead before realizing that Paye was in the room.
"Hello, Paye..." she waved her hand. She stood up straight, her posture turning a little bit stiff as she noticed my brother staring at her from the corner couch.
The dude just stared at her like she was some alien. He didn’t wave back, he didn’t smile, he just kept his cold eyes locked onto her face without saying a single word.
I thought he was doing better with her around..
Princess awkwardly folded her hands and faced me with a smile, then waved at the pups even though they were sleeping. She cleared her throat nervously, shifting her weight from one leg to the other as she tried to ignore my brother’s heavy glare.
"Is your brother gone?" I asked.
"No, he’s by the door, and Kaye is with him," she said casually as she helped adjust my pillow. She leaned down, carefully fluffing the fabric behind my head so I could sit up a bit higher.
"What is he doing with Kaye?" I asked, my eyebrows raising in disbelief.
"They happened to become friends and are busy drinking chocolate drinks now." Princess explained, a small, amused smile touching the corner of her lips as she thought about the strange duo in the hallway.
I stared at my brother, who was busy looking up at the ceiling, pretending he wasn’t in the room. He was whistling a tiny, silent tune, completely ignoring the fact that his own son was out there hanging out with the most dangerous Alpha in the district.
"Are you doing well?" Princess asked, looking at me and then at the table. "You did not touch the pizza?" She pointed at the cardboard box, which was still closed and sitting right next to Eriko’s food flask.
"How can I eat the pizza when you are not with me? You are supposed to feed me, remember?" I pouted, throwing my shoulders back against the pillows to make my point clear.
Without hesitation, Princess grabbed the pizza box and a slice, then carefully fed me. She knelt down right beside the mattress, holding the greasy crust with a napkin so it wouldn’t drip onto the blankets.
While she fed me, I threw a little tantrum on purpose, turning my head away slightly and whining about the temperature, and she wiped my mouth. She used the napkin, gently dabbing the corner of my lips with an incredibly soft, patient touch that made my heart give a happy little thump.
I stared at my brother.
It was to show him that I got this Alpha under my control and that I don’t have to be some fucking Luna or whatever shit he was talking about. I wanted him to see exactly how gentle and submissive this fierce Kings Alpha became whenever she was around me.
Saying that the Petros won’t let me have Princess in peace, that they will come to claim her.
Fuck No!..
Because Princess is already mine. The heavy weight of her mark was proof enough, a constant, low warmth that connected our souls together.
No one is claiming her because we claimed each other. We didn’t need their family permission, their grand contracts, or their grandfather’s blessing to know where we belonged.
The Kings, the Petros, or whatever threat, I don’t give a fuck.
Paye wasn’t able to hold his Alpha down, but I will hold her so tight that she calls me her Luna... I was going to wrap my life around her so securely that no family name could ever pull us apart.
Princess is mine just as I am hers.
