Chapter 168: Chapter 131: Imperial Capital 1-Day Tour (4)

When Su Chen and the others came out of the third-floor elevator, Zong Xinyao was already waiting at the doors.

"Boss!" Zong Xinyao greeted him respectfully.

"Is the private room ready?"

Zong Xinyao nodded, then walked ahead, leading the group toward the instant-boiled mutton restaurant.

When Su Chen stepped into the restaurant, he was a little surprised by the lively scene inside.

The main hall was almost completely full, with waiters weaving between the tables, carrying platters of fresh, succulent mutton.

"You’ve done a great job!" Su Chen was never stingy with his praise.

The restaurant was quite large. Su Chen gave it a quick scan and estimated about fifteen tables in the main hall and ten private rooms. Aside from the room that had been set aside for him, every single spot was taken.

After a brief look around, Su Chen ushered Shuraya and the others into the private room.

Su Chen hung back, murmuring a few quiet words to Zong Xinyao. Zong Xinyao’s gaze lingered on Shuraya for a moment before she nodded, indicating she understood what to do.

They had just sat down when exquisite platters of mutton were brought in.

The hot pots in the private room were individual. Everyone had their own in front of them, unlike out in the main dining area where people had to share.

"Shuraya, this instant-boiled mutton is very simple. Just dump the whole plate of mutton into the hot pot, wait about a minute, and then dip it in some sesame sauce. You’ll absolutely love the taste!"

As he spoke, Su Chen picked up a plate of mutton and poured it into his hot pot. Beside him, Shuraya followed his lead and did the same.

In an instant, a faint, fragrant aroma of mutton filled the room, whetting everyone’s appetite.

When Shuraya took her first bite of mutton, her eyes lit up!

The quality of the mutton was fantastic. There was no gamy taste at all; instead, it had a subtle, grassy aroma, and the meat was incredibly tender and juicy.

"Mr. Su, this mutton is truly excellent. It’s much better than any I’ve had back home!"

"Hahaha~ If you like it, eat as much as you want. I own this restaurant, so feel free to ask for any cut you’d like."

Su Chen smiled happily. Getting a compliment from Shuraya meant the mutton’s quality was good enough to be ranked internationally.

...

The meal lasted nearly two hours, and everyone ate until they were stuffed.

The five of them devoured a full thirty plates of mutton, which came out to six plates—over three pounds of meat—per person.

"Oh, Mr. Su, it’s only the second day and I’ve already eaten so many delicious things. What am I going to do when I go back to Paris!"

"You haven’t seen anything yet! Tomorrow, we’ll stay at the State Guesthouse instead of going out. I’ll let you taste what true top-tier cuisine is!" Su Chen had his own plans. ’Just touring the Forbidden City today was exhausting. Climbing the Great Wall would be killer.’

Luckily, Shuraya was a foodie, so he could tempt her with food. Besides, Su Chen himself was curious what a state banquet dish tasted like.

It was a matter of killing two birds with one stone, so why not?

"Mhm, mhm! No more going out!" Shuraya nodded vigorously.

After chatting for another ten minutes or so, Su Chen suggested they head back to the State Guesthouse to rest. But as soon as they stepped out of the private room, Zong Xinyao stopped them.

"Boss, I was wondering if I could get a photo with this beautiful lady!" Zong Xinyao said, looking at Shuraya next to Su Chen.

Su Chen didn’t answer, instead turning his gaze to Shuraya. A matter like this was, of course, her decision to make.

"Of course, no problem at all!" Shuraya agreed without a second thought, completely missing the faint smile playing on Su Chen’s lips.

Zong Xinyao had somehow procured a professional photographer. After a quick survey of the restaurant, the photographer had her and Shuraya pose together under the restaurant’s sign.

The photographer’s finger furiously pressed the shutter, taking who-knows-how-many shots.

Jiangyang, standing next to Su Chen, quickly caught on and muttered under his breath, "Old Su, you’re a cunning one. You’re planning to use the Arno family’s name for free advertising!"

The donation ceremony was set to take place in a few days. It was a very formal event that would be heavily publicized both in China and internationally. As the representative for the donation, Shuraya would naturally become the center of attention.

Su Chen felt not a shred of shame at having his little scheme exposed.

’After all... why pass up free advertising?’
