Chapter 163: Chapter 129: The Young Lady Arrives
Imperial Capital Airport!
The private jet apron.
Eight black sedans were parked quietly on the side of the road next to the apron.
Aside from the lead car, which was a Rolls-Royce, the rest were all top-spec Hongqi models.
"What’s going on, Old Jiang? How come you’re the official one picking her up?" Su Chen asked, a bit confused as he looked at Jiangyang, who had just gotten into his car.
"Why can’t it be me? I’m in charge on behalf of the National Museum, so why can’t I be the one to show up? Besides, you’re here too!" As he spoke, Jiangyang pulled a credential from his pocket and handed it over.
Su Chen glanced at Jiangyang, still a little puzzled, and took the credential from his hand.
He wouldn’t have thought much of it, but one look at the description on the credential showed: Researcher for the National Museum, and a high-ranking one at that.
"Is this thing real? No matter how I look at you, you don’t seem like an expert in this field," Su Chen said, flipping the credential over several times before confirming it was genuine.
"Hmph!" Jiangyang snatched the credential back smugly.
"Did you think people like us just coast through life, living off our fathers’ achievements?"
"I’ll have you know, buddy, I have a legitimate Ph.D. in archaeology—the real deal!"

Hearing this, a flicker of surprise crossed Su Chen’s eyes. The usually carefree and devil-may-care Jiangyang was actually so talented.
On second thought, it made sense. The more prominent the family, like Jiangyang’s, the more they valued their children’s education. Of course... there were exceptions, but they were a minority.
’Come to think of it, I only have a high school diploma. I should find some time to ask the universities in the Imperial Capital about correspondence courses or something. I should get myself a degree too...’
’Otherwise, if people look me up on Baidu or whatever and see my profile only lists a high school diploma, wouldn’t that be a huge embarrassment?’
KNOCK KNOCK~ Just as Su Chen was still thinking about how to get a degree, someone tapped lightly on the car window.
"Hm?" Seeing it was Chen Fei, Su Chen lowered the window.
"Sir, Miss Shuraya’s private jet has landed. It will be over here shortly!"
"Alright, I got it."
Su Chen nodded slightly, then turned his gaze to Jiangyang beside him.
"Let’s go, Eldest Young Master Jiang!"
"No, at this moment, I’ll trouble you to address me by my title: Researcher Jiang!" Jiangyang said, smugly adjusting his collar.
Seeing Jiangyang act like this, Su Chen fumed internally. ’So what if you’re educated? Is that such a big deal?’
He opened the car door and got out, not even giving him a second glance.
As soon as he got out of the car, Su Chen saw a large private jet slowly taxiing to a stop at the parking position in front of them.
The cabin door opened, but the first people to emerge were not Shuraya, but several female bodyguards with sharp, impressive bearings.
They immediately took up positions on either side of the aircraft stairs, standing guard.
"Tsk tsk tsk~ These filthy rich folks are really something else. Private jets and personal bodyguards wherever they go. A setup like this is truly enviable!" Jiangyang remarked with some emotion.
After speaking, he seemed to remember something, and his gaze flickered over to Su Chen beside him, a hint of awkwardness flashing across his face...
It seemed Su Chen also traveled with a private jet and personal bodyguards.

At this moment, Su Chen had no time to waste on such trivial matters with Jiangyang, because Shuraya had just descended from the private jet!
She was wearing a turtleneck sweater paired with a wool blazer, with a snow-white fur coat draped over her shoulders, giving her an air of nobility and dignity.
"Mr. Su, I never expected you to come pick me up personally. I’m truly flattered!" Shuraya had originally thought she would be met by government staff; she never imagined Su Chen himself would come to the airport.
This left Shuraya a little confused. Wouldn’t a major figure like Su Chen normally wait to meet her at home or in a top-tier hotel?
What Shuraya didn’t know was that Huaxia is a society built on personal relationships, and something like a personal airport pickup was a gesture that demonstrated how much one valued the other person.
"Welcome to Huaxia, Miss Shuraya. This is the official representative, Jiangyang!" Su Chen said, greeting her while also introducing Jiangyang.
"Hello, Miss Shuraya!" Jiangyang’s previous playful grin was gone, replaced by an expression and posture that couldn’t be more serious.
Su Chen could hardly believe his eyes. He never thought Jiangyang had a side like this.
After a moment’s thought, Su Chen understood. Right now, Jiangyang was representing the country, so of course he couldn’t let outsiders see him as a joke in terms of his bearing.
After the brief introductions, Su Chen was about to invite Shuraya into the car to take her to her hotel to get settled.
"Mr. Su, please wait!"
Su Chen, who was just about to turn, stopped instantly. He looked at Shuraya with a puzzled expression and asked, "What is it, Shuraya? Is there something else?"
Shuraya nodded. "I also brought over a thousand lost Huaxian cultural relics this time, including two national-treasure-level pieces. They’re all on the plane."
"Do you think we should unload all the relics, or should we leave them on the plane?"
Upon hearing this, Su Chen and Jiangyang exchanged a glance. They both knew this information beforehand, but they hadn’t expected Shuraya to lay her cards on the table so readily, leaving them momentarily unsure how to proceed.
They had assumed Shuraya would use these relics and national treasures as capital, as bargaining chips to negotiate a business partnership with the government. But now, it seemed she was prepared to hand them over directly, without making a single demand.
’Could it be that old fox Arno is playing hard to get?’ Su Chen’s mind raced.
Just then, Su Chen felt a nudge on his arm and immediately snapped back to reality.
"How about this: I’ll arrange for people to unload all the relics right away. Leaving them on the plane risks some kind of accident!"
’Who cares if there’s a catch? Let’s get the relics and national treasures back first. Even if there is some trickery, that’s the government’s problem. What does it have to do with me?’
He first had Shuraya rest in the car, then called Jiangyang over and told him to arrange for people to unload all the relics.
All the relics were packed in crates. Su Chen gave them a quick look-over. The thousand-plus pieces were mainly ceramics, with a small number of paintings and calligraphic works. He also saw the two national treasures in person.
According to the expert, Jiangyang, the two national treasures were the body of the Min Fanglei and 56 Qin Dynasty gold ornaments. They were perfectly preserved, with no damage to their condition.
Fortunately, the people Jiangyang had brought for the reception were no ordinary men; every one of them was in peak physical condition.
It took them a full half-hour to unload all thirty-odd crates from the plane.

Seeing the crates on the ground, Jiangyang was in a bind. He should have brought a transport truck.
It was too late to arrange for one now.
In the end, they had no choice but to clear out five of the Hongqi sedans, and only then did they barely manage to fit all the relic crates inside.
.........
The convoy drew quite a bit of attention as it drove out of the airport.
"Shuraya, how come you came alone this time? Didn’t anyone else come with you?" Su Chen asked curiously.
After all, an affair like this should have a dedicated liaison, but Su Chen saw no one else besides her bodyguards.
"But I have you, Mr. Su. Before I left, my father instructed me to ask for your opinion on everything," Shuraya said with a smile.
Hearing this, Su Chen cursed Arno’s entire family in his head. ’That old fox really is up to no good.’
’What does she mean, ask for my opinion? Isn’t this just treating me like a babysitter?’
’If anything went wrong at the donation ceremony, or if anything happened to Shuraya, wouldn’t it all be my problem?’
’He just wants to drag me into this, to get me involved in the donation ceremony. That way, if Shuraya needs anything, it’ll be me who has to pass the message up the chain...’
’Then, whether it’s to save my face or to consider Shuraya’s wishes, the higher-ups will have to take it seriously.’
"Damn it, that Arno really knows how to play his cards right," Su Chen muttered under his breath.
"Hm? Mr. Su, what did you say?" Shuraya, sitting beside him, looked over in confusion.
"Nothing. I was just wondering if you’d be interested in visiting the Forbidden City tomorrow!"
The moment he said it, Su Chen wanted to slap himself. ’This is a classic case of looking for trouble!’
"The Forbidden City? Really? I’d love to go!"
"Before I came, I looked up fun things to do in the Imperial Capital online. Places like the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, Shichahai... and the local food! I heard the ’douzhi’ is delicious and the Imperial Capital roast duck is very tasty. Mr. Su, can you take me to try them?"
It was as if Shuraya had let her true nature free; she became much more lively... and, of course, much more talkative.

Hearing Shuraya say that ’douzhi’ was delicious, the corner of Su Chen’s mouth twitched. ’Is that stuff even drinkable for an outsider??’
"Sure, no problem. You get some rest today, and tomorrow I’ll show you around the Imperial Capital!" Su Chen managed to say, practically gritting his teeth.
The words had barely left his mouth when Jiangyang, sitting in the front passenger seat, burst out laughing with a "PFFT".
Su Chen shot Jiangyang an annoyed look. A flash of inspiration struck him, and he immediately said, "Jiangyang, since you’re the official representative for her reception and a native of the Imperial Capital, shouldn’t you be the one to act as Shuraya’s tour guide tomorrow?"
Then he turned to Shuraya and added, "Shuraya, this is Jiangyang. He’s a local here in the Imperial Capital and knows the best places to eat and have fun much better than I do. Let him be your guide tomorrow. What do you think?"
"Of course! Then I’ll have to trouble Mr. Jiangyang tomorrow!" Shuraya agreed with a nod, not even hesitating for a moment.
Meanwhile, Jiangyang, in the passenger seat, heard this and could only turn around resignedly and say, "No problem!"
The car slowly drove into the city proper, and one after another, exquisite and luxurious skyscrapers came into Shuraya’s view.
The wide, clean roads and the endless stream of traffic—all of it was reshaping her perception of the city of Imperial Capital.
’The Imperial Capital is so prosperous. Father was right after all. This mysterious great Eastern nation is completely different from what the European media portrays.’
For a moment, the look in Shuraya’s eyes as she gazed out the window became somewhat complicated.
