Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Physical Exhaustion

Chloe Sinclair’s stamina was giving out. She stared at the swath of fallen men, her hands braced on her thighs. Her vision was starting to double.

Now, Chloe Sinclair was starting to feel afraid.

’Landon Sinclair refused to leave because of me this time. Am I going to get him killed...?’

Chloe Sinclair didn’t dare dwell on the thought. She asked Eight:

’How much longer can I last in this condition?’

’Based on the Host’s physical condition, you can last for another five minutes.’

Chloe Sinclair cursed inwardly and asked, ’You upgraded my skills, so why didn’t you boost my physical fortitude?’

’With her current stamina, there was no way she could beat this many people.’

"Their stamina is shot! Hurry up and finish them!"

The lead thug, sporting two black eyes, glared at Chloe Sinclair with pure rage, wishing he could kill her on the spot.

"That woman—grab her alive! I’ll show you how I’m gonna fuck her up!"

As he spoke, he touched the corner of his mouth and hissed in pain.

"You dare touch my sister!"

Before the lead thug could react, Landon Sinclair, who had been utterly exhausted, suddenly exploded with rage and threw a punch.

The man crashed to the ground. Before he could even scream, Landon Sinclair was on top of him, pummelling him mercilessly.

Right before he was knocked unconscious, his last thought was why these two siblings were so obsessed with punching people in the face.

"Miss Sinclair is over there!"

Suddenly, dozens of Bentleys pulled up in the distance. Their blinding white headlights cut through the darkness, illuminating the entire area.

Everyone instinctively shielded their eyes.

The moment the Bentleys stopped, seven or eight police cars pulled up right behind them.

Police officers quickly got out, their guns drawn.

The one in the lead held a megaphone and shouted, "You are surrounded..."

The thugs: "..."

The remaining seven or eight thugs still on their feet looked at the police, then back at Chloe Sinclair.

Then, a ridiculous scene unfolded.

After a few seconds of deliberation, the thugs all ran toward the police, crying, "Help! Someone’s trying to kill us!"

The police officers still hadn’t processed what was going on, even as they snapped the handcuffs on the thugs’ wrists.

But the thugs were like bullied children, sobbing uncontrollably. "Please, I’m begging you, lock me up for a long time."

Then he added, "Girls these days are terrifying, boo-hoo-hoo..."

The police: "..."

As one of the criminals was about to get into the police car, he asked, "I ordered nine cups of milk tea. They’ve probably been delivered to the station by now. Can you bring them to me during my interrogation? Otherwise, I won’t get to have them before I’m locked up."

The officer looked utterly shocked.

Everyone nearby who heard the man’s words was left speechless.

’Just how much did this guy love milk tea?’

’Was he afraid he wouldn’t get to drink it again in the future?’

The officer was silent for a moment, then patted the man’s shoulder and said earnestly, "You’ve got a great attitude."

The ambulance arrived quickly.

But what drew more attention was the fleet of dozens of Bentleys parked on the road.

The license plate of the lead car was particularly eye-catching—it was a solid string of eights.

While everyone was still wondering, a car door opened. The first thing that came into view was a pair of gleaming leather shoes, followed by a long, powerful hand resting on the doorframe.

When Chloe Sinclair saw the ring on the man’s hand, she knew who it was.

"Jasper Shaw?"

Landon Sinclair exclaimed in surprise, wondering why Jasper Shaw would be here.

’With this many cars, he couldn’t possibly just be passing by.’

Chloe Sinclair, however, just smiled. She pushed herself up and walked slowly toward him, a faint smile on her lips. "Mr. Shaw."

As soon as the words left her mouth, her vision went black, and she collapsed.
