Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Submission
Before Chloe Sinclair had a chance to react, Landon Sinclair held his phone out to her.
On the screen was a WeChat conversation, where Gabriel Sinclair had sent a short message:
[I’m going to follow Chloe, too!]
Chloe took one look and was instantly dumbfounded.
She quickly asked, "Won’t this start trending?"
Landon Sinclair thought for a moment, then nodded. "It most likely will."
Even without Gabriel, the fact that he was following Chloe Sinclair on Weibo would definitely make them trend.
But Weibo was the domain of celebrities. Gabriel Sinclair boasted a following of seventy million, all of them active fans. His actions would undoubtedly cause a massive firestorm in the entertainment industry.
"I’ll go stop Gabriel."
"Okay."
Chloe’s main reason for this was that the public had no idea Gabriel was one of the heirs to the Sinclair Group. If that was revealed now, she feared his fans wouldn’t be able to accept it.
With Chloe’s permission, Landon called Gabriel.
As soon as the call connected, Landon heard Gabriel roaring furiously, "Why can’t I follow Chloe? Look, everyone in our family has, but I haven’t!"
It was immediately followed by a sharp, exasperated voice on the other end of the line. "Fine, go ahead then! Don’t you know you have just as many haters as you do die-hard fans? You’ll be fine if you follow your sister, but what about her?"
Gabriel faltered, saying nothing.
On the other end of the line, Landon raised an eyebrow and hung up without a word.
Chloe looked at Landon, a little confused.
"Don’t worry, Gabriel won’t be following you on Weibo from his main account."
Chloe breathed a sigh of relief.
Afraid Landon would get the wrong idea, she explained, "Our brother’s situation is different. He’s a huge star. If someone like me appears in the public eye right now, I’m afraid it will cause trouble for him."
There was a saying from a later era that put it well.
"Some people hold their keyboards high, thinking themselves morally superior."
In reality, that wasn’t moral superiority at all. It was just forcing one’s own ideology onto others.
Ever since Gabriel Sinclair’s debut, he had been under intense scrutiny. The moment he did anything, countless gossip accounts would write sensationalist hit pieces about him.
The accusations ranged from sleeping with rich older women to bullying child actors on set.
It didn’t matter if anyone believed it; there were always gossip accounts willing to do it for the clicks.
"Chloe, your brother won’t take it the wrong way."
As Landon said this, he suddenly felt a pang of envy toward Gabriel.
’That kid has barely been home, yet Chloe is always so concerned about him.’
He raised an eyebrow and asked, "And you’re not afraid my fans will cause trouble for you?"
Chloe Sinclair shook her head and answered honestly, "That’s highly unlikely. My results in this competition are enough to prove my abilities. Besides, I plan to write up my paper on the three-dimensional quantum Hall effect after the competition is over. I’ll submit it to a few journals, and who knows, maybe an editor will take an interest."
Hearing this, Landon Sinclair gave a helpless smile. "You’re selling yourself way too short. People have been researching the 3D quantum effect for years, but they’re still stuck on the two-dimensional stage. So far, scientists have only been able to prove that the three-dimensional quantum state exists; no one has been able to make any deeper discoveries."
He paused, then his expression turned serious. "Do you need me to submit it for you?"
Chloe was taken aback for a moment before her face lit up with delight. "That would be perfect."
She was confident she could get published in domestic journals, but international publications were another matter entirely.
Therefore, having someone to make a recommendation was an excellent option.
