Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Clarification

"Then why didn’t you say so before?"

The director looked annoyed. How had he not noticed their relationship?

Chloe Sinclair glanced at Landon Sinclair and shrugged helplessly.

Seeing this, Landon Sinclair explained, "It was a last-minute decision. Chloe didn’t know."

Everyone’s expression changed, as if to say, ’Even if you didn’t say it, we know what’s going on.’

But soon, someone caught on and couldn’t help but ask, "But doesn’t everyone online say Chloe is an adopted daughter?"

Landon Sinclair froze, his brow instantly furrowing. "Who on the internet said that? Chloe is my biological sister. We just didn’t live together due to some unforeseen circumstances."

’When I get back, I’m making sure the Sinclair Group’s lawyers hunt down whoever is spreading these rumors!’

Landon Sinclair had always been good-tempered. Even when contestants made mistakes they shouldn’t have, he never uttered a single word of blame.

This was the first time anyone had seen Landon Sinclair so angry.

But they all instantly understood. ’So Chloe Sinclair was the true heiress of the Sinclair Group.’

’A priceless gem!’

Because of Landon Sinclair and her connection to the Sinclair Family, Chloe Sinclair indeed received a lot of preferential treatment at the dinner table.

Jolie Yates, who had been eliminated, was also at the dinner. Seeing Chloe Sinclair as the center of attention, she gritted her teeth, her eyes filled with malice.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Now, only four contestants remained: Chloe Sinclair, Vincent, Chase Lynch, and Melody Young.

After the dinner ended, the four of them exchanged WeChat contacts before saying their goodbyes and leaving.

Chloe Sinclair and Landon Sinclair were the last to leave. They saw a few of the senior scientists to their cars before calling their own driver to pick them up.

On the neon-lit street, cars came and went in a continuous stream of traffic in both directions.

It was only eight o’clock at night, prime time for people getting off work, so the wide sidewalks were also packed with people.

Chloe Sinclair leaned against a lamppost, tilting her head. "Brother, why didn’t you tell me you were coming to the show? You could have given me a heads-up, you know?"

Seeing him among the mentors back then had really taken her by surprise.

A glint flashed in Landon Sinclair’s eyes. He looked away evasively, but under Chloe Sinclair’s "stern" gaze, he finally confessed, "I was afraid you’d be angry if you knew I was coming." 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Chloe Sinclair paused, then thought back to her own past actions. Resignation filled her eyes. "Why would I be?"

She paused, then a thought suddenly struck her. "Brother, you didn’t come on this show just for me, did you?"

’She couldn’t remember her brother ever participating in any show in her past life.’

Seeing Landon Sinclair hem and haw, she immediately understood.

She didn’t press the issue. Instead, she looked into the distance and said, "Brother, the car’s here. Let’s go."

Landon Sinclair paused for a second, then nodded quickly and followed her.

In the car, Landon Sinclair looked like he wanted to say something but held back. Seeing Chloe Sinclair staring out the window, he hesitated for a moment before asking again, "Chloe, you’re really not mad, are you?"

Chloe Sinclair pulled her gaze away from the window. She turned her head, her big, beautiful eyes looking directly at him as she said earnestly, "Brother, I’m really not mad."

Landon Sinclair listened for a long moment. Finally certain she wasn’t being sarcastic, the weight on his chest was finally lifted.

"As long as you’re not mad."

Then, another silence fell between them.

After a while, Landon Sinclair took out his phone and fiddled with it for a bit.

But it didn’t last long. Chloe Sinclair’s gaze flickered past, and she didn’t get a clear look at what her brother was doing.

So, a moment later, she turned her gaze back to the window.

"BZZZ BZZZ—"

Suddenly, Landon Sinclair’s phone began to vibrate wildly.
