Chapter 224: Chapter 224: Notifying the Family

Hearing Eight’s explanation did nothing to ease Chloe Sinclair’s mind. Instead, her heart grew even heavier.

"What about my professor and senior’s condition?"

’If my body is already in this state, I can’t imagine what condition they’re in.’

In her past life, Joel Quincy had died young from cancer. The root cause was long-term exposure in the lab; the radioactive materials had taken their toll on his body. By the time he passed away, his entire body was covered in sores.

Eight remained silent for a long time, and Chloe Sinclair grew increasingly anxious. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

After what felt like an eternity, Eight finally spoke slowly. "[Master, please rest assured. Mr. Quincy and your senior are not in any serious danger.]"

"[It was you who saved them.]"

Although Chloe Sinclair didn’t understand Eight’s last sentence, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She used her blood-stained lab coat to wipe the blood from her nose, only to end up smearing it all over her face.

The nurses beside her were incredibly worried. They all urged Chloe Sinclair to lie down and rest, constantly trying to comfort her.

Chloe Sinclair looked like she wanted to say something, but she held her tongue and obediently remained silent.

She cooperated with the nurses, taking off her coat and changing into a loose-fitting hospital gown. Then, she watched as a nurse carefully sealed her lab coat and placed it in a sealed box.

But as soon as she stepped out of the ambulance, her head began to throb with pain.

Joel Quincy and Nathan Trenton arrived one after the other, having already changed their clothes.

They were both shocked when they saw Chloe Sinclair’s condition.

"Why is there so much blood?"

The person who had been so full of life before leaving the lab now had a face covered in blood, and the bleeding from her nose simply wouldn’t stop.

In no time, her face had turned deathly pale.

The two men knew exactly what this meant, and their hearts suddenly grew heavy.

As he watched Chloe Sinclair get wheeled into the emergency room, Joel Quincy’s eyes suddenly reddened.

"I did this to her."

This man, who had always faced every crisis without a change in expression, was now shedding tears like an old man. He stared in the direction Chloe Sinclair had been taken, a wave of regret washing over him.

"We should notify Landon Sinclair."

Nathan Trenton froze for a second before nodding with great difficulty. "Okay."

Chloe Sinclair was in the emergency room for three whole hours.

When Landon Sinclair learned about the lab accident and that Chloe Sinclair was in the hospital, he didn’t dare tell the rest of their family.

He just told Gabriel Sinclair to get to the hospital and stay by her side, no matter what, until he could get there himself.

Gabriel Sinclair had been in the middle of filming locally. He didn’t understand anything about research, but the moment he heard the word "hospital," he dropped everything and drove straight over.

By the time he arrived, Chloe Sinclair was still undergoing tests.

Seeing Nathan Trenton and Joel Quincy waiting outside the emergency room, his heart ignited with fury, and he strode toward them.

"My brother said something happened to Chloe. What’s wrong with her?"

Nathan Trenton and Gabriel Sinclair had known each other for a long time.

When Nathan Trenton didn’t answer, Gabriel Sinclair’s heart leaped into his throat.

"Fuck, what’s with that look on your face? Is my sister going to be okay or not? Just say something!"

Gabriel Sinclair instantly grabbed and wrinkled Nathan Trenton’s clothes, but even so, Nathan remained unfazed.

"There was a problem with the radiation equipment in the lab. Chloe shut the valve by herself, and she might have inhaled radioactive material in the process. She seemed fine on the way to the hospital, but her nose started bleeding as soon as we arrived. The doctors are still running tests now."

"Tests? It’s been this long, why aren’t they done yet?"

After speaking, Gabriel Sinclair shot a fierce glare at Nathan Trenton, then began to pace anxiously back and forth in the hallway.

He then pressed himself against the large doors of the emergency room, trying to peer inside, but the white doors were opaque.

Defeated, Gabriel Sinclair could only kneel on the floor and try to peer through the crack under the doors.
