Chapter 201: Chapter 201: Flow Fusion Reactor

Sharon Thorne cursed. The incessant knocking from outside only soured her mood further. She stormed to the door and yanked it open.

Without even looking up, she assumed it was someone delivering her contract termination papers and immediately started shouting, "Let me tell you something! I don’t care how much money you offer; I’m not terminating my contract! If I’m going down, I’m taking you all with me!"

’If my life is ruined, they can forget about living peacefully.’

Yet, after a long moment, the person in front of her hadn’t moved or said a word.

A flicker of surprise went through Sharon Thorne. She looked up, and her pupils constricted when she saw the police officer standing next to a man holding official documents.

A terrible premonition suddenly washed over her.

"Miss Thorne, hello. We’ve received a report accusing you of slander. The aggrieved party has filed a report, and after our verification, we’ve confirmed your post has been shared over 500,000 times. You have broken the law. Please come with us."

While Sharon Thorne was still reeling from the shock, the man in a suit accompanying the officer pushed up his glasses and calmly informed her, "Hello, Miss Thorne. I am Mr. Sinclair’s lawyer. Here is a legal notice. Please be sure to appear in court on the specified date."

After speaking, the man in the suit nodded to the officer and left without a backward glance.

Only after the lawyer left did Sharon Thorne finally snap back to reality.

Forgetting everything else, she tried to explain weakly, "Officer, this is all a misunderstanding. I can explain."

The arresting officer remained expressionless and stated seriously, "Don’t worry. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to explain once we’re at the station."

This time, Sharon Thorne completely panicked. She couldn’t stop herself from blurting out, "You can’t arrest me! I’m a celebrity! I have over ten million fans! If you arrest me, they won’t let you get away with this!"

Seeing the officer fall silent, Sharon Thorne assumed he was intimidated.

’After all, with so many fans, couldn’t she just stir them up a little to put pressure on the police?’

At this thought, Sharon Thorne grew even more smug.

SMACK—

The officer’s face darkened, and he trembled with rage. "How can someone like you even exist? A role model? Is this the example you set for children? You’re a menace, an absolute cancer on society!"

If his words got out, Sharon Thorne’s career would be completely destroyed.

The police, however, were already aware of the situation’s gravity. After they brought Sharon Thorne back to the station, they interrogated her thoroughly to get all the facts straight.

Thus, on Sunday night, the Emberfall police department issued an update on Sharon Thorne’s case.

Because Sharon Thorne had spread baseless rumors that were reposted over 500,000 times, combined with Gabriel Sinclair pressing charges, it was certain she would not escape criminal liability.

Furthermore, several prominent national influencers publicly condemned Sharon Thorne by name. In just a few hours, she had lost millions of followers on her Weibo account.

And the number was still dropping.

Now, a comeback was out of the question for Sharon Thorne; it was hard to say when she would even be released from prison.

However, Chloe Sinclair, far away in her lab, couldn’t care less about any of this.

After completing her experimental goals for the day, she returned to her small apartment.

After replying to all her messages, Chloe Sinclair began to read her copy of *Nuclear Physics*.

The next day, Chloe Sinclair cleared her schedule and went to the lab to continue her work on the nuclear fusion experiment.

Since she needed to persuade the lab’s researchers today, Chloe Sinclair put on a little makeup, donned her protective suit and goggles, and walked into the conference room.

She found and opened her file, her expression relaxed as she gazed at the esteemed scientific leaders before her.

Chloe Sinclair opened her mouth and began, her voice calm and composed. "Good morning, esteemed colleagues. The theory I will be presenting today is titled: ’The Flux Fusion Reactor.’"

The moment Chloe Sinclair started speaking, a low murmur of discussion rose from the audience.

Among the laboratory staff were key experimental researchers and even a few academicians whom, in her past life, she had only ever heard of by name but never met.

Unlike some of the other researchers, their faces held no scorn. Instead, they were quietly discussing the feasibility of her theory.

Chloe Sinclair paused for three minutes. When she saw their discussion winding down, she continued, "I know you are all curious about what ’flux fusion’ is, and what this ’reactor’ entails."

"I can assure you all, this is a completely new, advanced technology that will put us ahead of every other nation."

As she said this, Chloe Sinclair brought up her first presentation slide.

"Flux fusion is based on principles derived from centripetal force. The reactor itself is an electrochemical apparatus. We can observe the reaction by using high-voltage DC to electrolyze water with multi-faceted graphite electrodes."

"Overall, the Flux Fusion Reactor is a modification built upon the existing Mark Device."

"While the Mark Device is considered world-class, its shortcomings are starkly evident when it comes to nuclear fusion experiments."

"The space for the central solenoid is extremely narrow, resulting in low operational efficiency. Furthermore, the magnetic flux variation it can generate is limited, and its current-driving capability is poor. The stellarator component is complex, and the precision required for its fabrication and installation has become the greatest hindrance to the Mark Device’s progress."

Chloe Sinclair laid out all the inherent flaws of the Mark Device in one go, leaving everyone in the audience stunned.

Although the Mark Device wasn’t yet a mature technology, it was still at the world’s cutting edge.

Yet Chloe Sinclair was able to instantly identify flaws they had never noticed, backing her claims with sound reasoning and evidence. The scientists’ eyes lit up.

Sometimes, a scientist’s inspiration can be sparked by a single sentence.

And right now, Chloe Sinclair’s insights were giving the scientists in the room new avenues of thought for their own fusion research.

Seeing that she had achieved her objective, Chloe Sinclair smiled in satisfaction. "The Flux Fusion Reactor is different," she said. "We’ve all been operating under a misconception, thinking that a good confinement device is all that’s needed. However, the reactor itself is essential. It is the most critical component for a successful experiment."

In the field of nuclear fusion research, they couldn’t afford to get a single detail wrong.

It was just like building a rocket, where every component is checked hundreds, even thousands, of times. A single loose screw could cost an astronaut their life and reduce years of painstaking research to nothing.

Nuclear fusion experiments were no different.

The reactor was an indispensable part of achieving success.

"But with our current level of technology, it would take several years to develop such a device," a researcher commented. "Every other country is advancing; we absolutely cannot afford to slow our pace."

Chloe Sinclair heard this and nodded, but then immediately refuted the researcher’s point.

"First, my Flux Fusion Reactor is not theoretical. Second, it is not more expensive than the Mark Device. And third, it is better to be clever than to be complex."
