Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Little One, Go to Sleep

Gabriel Sinclair frowned. He’d lost the connection again. Frustrated, he smacked his phone a couple of times.

His assistant saw this and winced.

That was the latest model, released just last month. It had been so hard to get ahold of.

While the assistant was still lamenting the phone’s fate, Gabriel Sinclair walked a few more steps and finally reached a small dirt mound where he saw three bars of signal.

He quickly said, "Chloe, do you want me to send the company’s bodyguards to protect you? You scared me to death, you know that?"

All the netizens were saying Chloe Sinclair’s moves were cool and fluid.

But only he knew the fear he felt watching that dark barrel pointed at his precious little sister.

’What if the criminal had just pulled the trigger? Would Chloe have survived?’

The more Gabriel Sinclair thought about it, the more convinced he became that he should do it.

Chloe Sinclair didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Making the most of his decent connection, she kept it brief. "Gabriel, I’m really fine. Every single one of those people has blood on their hands. They’re never getting out of prison, so you don’t have to worry about retaliation. I’m going to be working at Academician Quincy’s research lab soon, so you might not be able to reach me for a while."

Gabriel grew anxious and couldn’t help but ask, "For how long?"

Chloe Sinclair thought for a moment but couldn’t give a definite answer. "The research is classified. I don’t even know what stage the experiments are at right now."

But after a moment’s thought, she felt a little worried about Gabriel, so she added, "I’ll come see you this weekend."

When Gabriel heard that, his eyes instantly lit up, and he nodded eagerly.

Before he could say anything, the poor connection cut the video call short.

He spent another twenty-odd minutes searching but still couldn’t find a spot with a decent signal.

"Gabriel, it’s getting dark. We should head back now."

Gabriel’s spirits were low. Hearing his assistant, he could only mumble an "Okay."

Back on set, Gabriel Sinclair filmed for an hour. But since his scenes with the female lead were missing, he had less and less to do these past few days. Even he was starting to feel restless.

However, the thought of Chloe Sinclair visiting the set in a few days instantly cheered him up.

He just hoped that day would come quickly.

Meanwhile, Chloe Sinclair was already back in the lab, continuing her experiments on the maglev train.

In a single day, Chloe Sinclair had run a full three hundred sets of data for her experiment!

Finally, using BCS theory, she proved that the critical temperature for high-temperature superconductivity was above 40K.

Upon confirming this data, a smile couldn’t help but appear on Chloe Sinclair’s face.

"Eight, I figured it out."

The lab was empty, save for Chloe Sinclair.

She had no one to talk to, so she shared her joy with Eight.

It was rare for Eight to see Chloe Sinclair like this. Knowing how much effort she had poured into this data, its massive form did happy pirouettes within the system. "Congratulations, Host."

Chloe Sinclair took off her protective suit and picked up her phone.

It was already three in the morning.

She didn’t know if Jasper Shaw was asleep. After hesitating for a long time, she finally picked up her phone and sent him a message on WeChat.

[Mr. Shaw, I figured out the critical temperature for high-temperature superconductivity.]

After sending the message, Chloe Sinclair was about to put her phone down and enter the system to continue her studies.

But the moment she set it down, her phone screen lit up, followed by a DING from a notification.

Chloe Sinclair glanced down. It was from Jasper Shaw.

She was a little surprised.

’After all, Jasper Shaw rarely checked his WeChat messages, especially this late. He should have been asleep long ago.’

As she was thinking this, she saw Jasper Shaw’s reply appear after a moment:

[Little one, it’s time to go to sleep.]
