Chloe Sinclair wasn’t surprised by everyone’s skepticism. She glanced sideways at White, handing the stage over to him.
Next, the academicians below watched as the adorably ugly little robot performed a surgical procedure and a simple rescue operation.
Once it was all over, Chloe Sinclair returned to the stage.
Perhaps ten years from now, people might not be so shocked.
But with the current lag in science and technology, while Zenthia had many geniuses, very few had produced anything truly remarkable. So, Chloe Sinclair had anticipated the academicians’ shock.
After White left the stage, Chloe Sinclair stepped up with a smile.
An academician from the audience quickly asked, "What you said earlier, about it being usable in daily life—is that true?"
"Yes," Chloe Sinclair replied.
Everyone gasped.
Zenthia was currently facing a severe aging population. Many elderly people lived with their children away, leaving them with no one for daily care.
If they had a robot like this, any problems could be detected in time.
Chloe Sinclair explained all the capabilities of the All-Purpose Robot to the audience.
Chloe Sinclair was able to flawlessly answer even the most technical questions from the academicians.
Landon Sinclair watched his little sister speak so eloquently on stage, a look of gratification on his face.
After the science conference ended, Chloe Sinclair returned to the laboratory.
For nearly two months, she had been living in the lab.
Having slept less than two hours a day for two straight months, Chloe Sinclair fell asleep almost as soon as she lay down on her bed.
When she woke up, it was already the next day.
Landon Sinclair had already had someone pack her luggage for her.
Chloe Sinclair was still a bit dazed, her wide, watery eyes looking somewhat lost.
Landon Sinclair didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "Cody, school starts in about two weeks. Dad’s been calling every day, urging you to come home."
Chloe Sinclair’s face flushed red.
Whenever she got absorbed in an experiment, she would inevitably lose all track of time.
She stammered, "O-Okay... I... I get it."
After saying that, she quickly got dressed and locked up the lab before she left.
Landon Sinclair was busy with work, so he only walked Chloe Sinclair to the door.
He was reluctant to see her go, but he knew she had to return for school. He reminded her, "Drive carefully."
Then he added, "A lot of academicians came by yesterday asking for your WeChat and inquiring about the All-Purpose Robot. I turned them all down. But White will probably have to stay at the lab for now."
Chloe Sinclair nodded.
"Go on, head back. Be safe. I’ll come see you when I have time," Landon Sinclair said, ruffling Chloe Sinclair’s hair, his face full of reluctance.
"Your brother is in Emberfall. Go find him first when you get there, you hear me? Don’t just run off on your own."
"Okay."
Chloe Sinclair nodded obediently. After getting in the car, she stuck her head out and called, "Landon, I’m leaving!"
"Mm."
Before long, the little pink car disappeared down the road.
Early in the morning, Mr. Sinclair was sitting on the sofa, holding a newspaper. He remained in that one position, completely still.
The butler looked as if he wanted to say something but held back.
He desperately wanted to point out that Sir was holding the newspaper upside down.
But seeing his master’s absent-mindedness, the butler knew exactly what was going on.
Young Master Landon had sent a message earlier today saying Chloe Sinclair was coming home.
That was why his master had been sitting on the sofa since before eight o’clock this morning. Though his eyes were on the newspaper, his thoughts had likely already flown out the door.
Suddenly, the butler glanced out the window, his face lighting up. "Sir, the Young Miss is back!"
