Chapter 146: Chapter 146: The Elders’ Shock

Absolutely ridiculous!

When Mr. Sutton heard Landon Sinclair’s irresponsible words, he was so angry he nearly stormed off to teach him a lesson.

But what was done was done; he couldn’t possibly force a change to Chloe Sinclair’s college application.

Still, the thought of Chloe Sinclair not choosing condensed matter physics made his heart ache.

"Mr. Sutton, what kind of experiment do you think that kid from the Sinclair Family is up to this time? His deep-sea submarine last time blew us away. It’s only been a year, right? Don’t tell me he’s developed something new again?"

The speaker was a Three-star Academician, Joel Quincy. His face was deeply wrinkled, and his hair was streaked with white.

An ordinary person seeing him might think he was in his sixties or seventies.

However, this Three-star Academician conducted research in nuclear physics. He had been serving the country since he was twenty—for twenty-six years now.

Though he was only middle-aged, the weathered lines on his face were heartbreaking to see.

Mr. Sutton held a deep, heartfelt admiration for this academician who was much younger than himself. However, the moment he heard the name "Landon Sinclair," he couldn’t help but let out a cold snort.

His gaze involuntarily drifted to the stage.

And there, he saw a young girl in a white lab coat walking out.

When he recognized her face, his eyes widened in disbelief.

Seeing this, Joel Quincy was puzzled and followed his gaze.

All the academicians from Zenthia turned their eyes to the stage as well.

Shock registered on all their faces.

Because they were all very familiar with this young girl.

Just a few months ago, hot topics like three-dimensional quanta, the Hodge conjecture, and the theory of biological evolution had circulated throughout various academic circles.

Everyone had been desperately trying to find this young genius.

But ever since participating in the show *Genius*, Chloe Sinclair had vanished without a trace. No matter what methods they used, they couldn’t find her.

They never expected to see Chloe Sinclair here today.

How could they not be shocked?

Especially Mr. Sutton. His eyes were glued to her.

When he finally snapped out of it, his eyes were filled with excitement. "What is Chloe Sinclair doing here?"

’Could it be that we couldn’t reach her before because she was here doing research?’

The more Mr. Sutton thought about it, the more surprised and excited he became.

’Has Chloe Sinclair made another new discovery in condensed matter physics?’

Just then, Chloe Sinclair reached the center of the stage. She looked down at the many elders seated below; at a glance, she recognized many of them from her past life.

When her gaze fell on Joel Quincy, she paused for a moment, and then a slight smile touched her lips.

’Joel Quincy. One of her teachers in her past life.’

Even though Joel Quincy wasn’t a condensed matter physicist, he had still helped her a great deal in her past life.

Even when she was being attacked by the entire internet, this Three-star Academician had been willing to stand up and speak for her.

But tragedy, it seems, always seeks out the unfortunate.

In her past life, her teacher, Joel Quincy, had dedicated his entire life to the nation’s nuclear physics program. He eventually died of cancer caused by radiation exposure.

On his deathbed, he had less than a hundred dollars to his name.

It was only discovered later, during an investigation, that Joel Quincy had donated his entire monthly stipend to students in impoverished mountainous regions.

He had done so for twenty-six whole years!

Such a great man, and yet when he was dying, he hadn’t even thought to leave himself a single cent for a coffin.

A bitter sorrow welled up in Chloe Sinclair’s heart. She sniffled, secretly vowing to herself that in this life, she would not let her teacher die so young from his illness.

She picked up the microphone and took a deep breath. "Good day, Seniors. My name is Chloe Sinclair, and the topic of my presentation today is the ’All-Purpose Robot’."

"Its primary functions include: search and rescue, medical support, military applications..."
