Chapter 102: Chapter 102: The Host Picks a Fight

Chloe Sinclair was stunned for a good while. She hadn’t expected the God of Study System to issue a mission directly after upgrading.

And the mission was quite difficult.

’What is reputation value?’

"Reputation value comes from the admiration others have for the host. The maximum reputation value from any single person is 100."

Eight’s tone was rather smug.

Chloe acknowledged this and entered the system space to study.

She had the competition again tomorrow, and she wanted to learn as much as possible.

Seeing that Chloe showed no surprise at all, Eight grew resentful and fell silent. After that, it refused to respond, no matter how many times Chloe called out to it.

Chloe shook her head helplessly.

’This little fellow is surprisingly proud.’

But Chloe didn’t think much more about it and continued studying in the system until evening.

Mrs. Logan, who was working downstairs, wanted to go up and check on the situation several times. But seeing Chloe’s door shut tight made her feel a little displeased.

Just yesterday, she had taken out a loan for a full two million.

She planned to keep the remaining one million for herself, to spend at her leisure.

Besides, the lender had told her she only needed to pay back twenty thousand a month. The interest wasn’t high, so she figured she might as well borrow a little extra.

She had been a little worried at first, but she relaxed immediately upon hearing that Nina Sinclair had also taken out a loan.

’After all, Miss Nina is so clever. How could she possibly lead me astray?’ 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

What Mrs. Logan didn’t know, however, was that a month later she would be chased back to her hometown by debt collectors and even suffer some horrific things.

Yet even in the end, she would still firmly believe that Nina Sinclair had never meant to harm her.

But that is all a story for later.

Chloe’s Physics progress bar was already at eighty percent.

Eight had told her that filling the progress bar was just laying the foundation; the advanced versions to come were what would let her truly transcend human limits.

This made Chloe all the more eager for her future studies.

She studied until the next morning without even realizing it.

After rushing to the television station, Chloe learned that Landon Sinclair had already said his goodbyes to the production team.

No one was particularly concerned. After all, Landon Sinclair was a very busy man, and it hadn’t been easy for him to come in the first place.

However, the production team couldn’t find a replacement mentor on such short notice, so only four teachers remained on the panel.

When Chloe arrived, Hector York was also in the makeup room.

He smiled when he saw Chloe and said, "I didn’t realize you were Professor Sinclair’s sister. It seems genetics are pretty important after all."

Knowing Hector was joking, Chloe smiled faintly and replied, "I wouldn’t say that. After all, my older brother only scored two hundred and fifty on his college entrance exam."

The remark was highly damaging and deeply insulting.

Hector looked at Chloe’s perfectly serious expression and suppressed a smile.

But as he thought about the "two hundred and fifty points" joke, it felt strangely familiar, as if he’d heard it somewhere before.

But Hector wasn’t in the habit of prying and knew when to let things be.

He just said, "Keep up the good work," and their conversation ended there.

At twelve noon, once all the staff had finished lunch, the competition officially began.

The host was different from the last one. Chloe didn’t recognize them, but they didn’t make things difficult for the amateur contestants on stage. All in all, the atmosphere was quite harmonious.

However, to generate some buzz, the host suddenly asked, "Chloe, did you see the trending topics from the other day?"

Chloe was taken aback and shook her head shyly.

After the last competition, she and her second brother had run into trouble. When she got home, her first order of business was to deal with Mrs. Logan, and she spent the rest of her time studying in the system.

She’d been so preoccupied that she didn’t even know where her phone was.
