Chapter 78: A Night with the Fénix... [+18]

Night had fallen over the Pyrell Household.

The Lion of Fire Knight had left hours ago, leaving behind an atmosphere heavy with emotions and unspoken promises.

Dinner had passed with nervous laughter and exchanged glances, but now, with the dishes washed and the fireplace reduced to glowing embers, it was finally time to rest.

The problem was that there were no spare bedrooms left.

As the newest member of the group, Dawn would be staying in Nox’s room.

And Nox...

Well, Nox would be sleeping in Tessa’s room.

Audrey and Misty hadn’t taken the news well.

Both wore expressions that were equal parts surprise and obvious annoyance, but Tessa, with the confident smile only the homeowner’s daughter could wear, was the first to speak.

"Come to my room, Nox. There’s plenty of space."

She had said it in a tone that left no room for argument.

Now, Nox was lying against the feather pillows on Tessa’s spacious bed, which sank beneath his weight with almost sinful softness.

The mattress was far more comfortable than his own.

The sheets carried the scent of fresh lavender and something sweetly feminine.

Perks, he thought with a faint smile.

’This is way better than my tiny room.’

The light from the bathroom spilled directly into his eyes, making it impossible to relax.

Tessa was taking a shower with the bathroom door slightly open, and the sound of water falling created a soothing echo throughout the dimly lit bedroom.

Nox tried closing his eyes, but the persistent light kept him awake.

Several minutes passed before the water finally stopped.

A few seconds later, Tessa stepped out through the lingering steam.

Her crimson hair clung wetly to her shoulders, while a single white towel wrapped around her body, barely covering her from her chest to the middle of her thighs.

The damp fabric hugged her skin, outlining every curve with shameless precision.

"You’re still awake?"

she asked softly as she approached the bed.

"It’s impossible to sleep with that light shining straight into my face."

Nox chuckled as he sat up slightly.

"Feels like you did it on purpose."

Tessa let out an amused giggle, tilting her head.

"Maybe."

She stepped even closer, wearing the playful expression that always managed to catch him off guard.

"Can you do me a favor?"

"Sure."

"Would you dry my hair?"

She glanced toward the bed.

"I don’t want to get the sheets wet."

"Alright, come here."

Nox made room beside him.

Tessa sat on the edge of the bed with her back facing him.

The scent of her floral soap immediately filled his senses.

"Use your flames," she suggested casually.

"The Phoenix flames."

She smiled.

"I know you won’t burn me."

Nox blinked in surprise.

"I hadn’t even thought of that."

Golden Phoenix flames awakened in his hands, dancing with a gentle, carefully controlled warmth.

He slowly guided them over Tessa’s damp hair.

Instead of burning it, the crimson strands gradually dried, regaining their silky shine.

Tessa sighed contentedly.

"That feels so nice..."

she murmured.

Nox watched the exposed skin of her back.

Her skin looked unbelievably soft beneath the warm glow.

Unable to resist, his hands drifted from her hair to her shoulders, gently massaging the tense muscles.

A quiet, involuntary moan escaped her lips.

"Are you okay?"

Nox asked, pausing for a moment.

She glanced back at him over her shoulder.

Her pupils had widened.

"Keep going..."

"I needed this so much."

Nox smiled and continued, his hands carefully working across the Phoenix’s shoulders and upper back.

The towel gradually loosened with each movement.

Slowly...

It slipped away.

Falling onto the bed.

Tessa was left completely naked before him, her body illuminated by the glow of the Phoenix flames and the light pouring from the bathroom.

Nox felt his own body react instantly.

Her skin seemed to glow.

Every time she looked back at him, the pleasure written across her face only made it harder to stay composed.

"I can’t hold back anymore."

Tessa whispered suddenly.

She turned around with feline agility.

Without giving him time to react, she pulled away the last piece of clothing covering him.

Now they were both naked.

She knelt before him on the bed.

Her widened eyes shimmered with anticipation.

"I’ve never done this before..."

she confessed.

"But I really want to... with you."

Nox held his breath as Tessa moved closer.

She explored him with hesitant curiosity, her movements awkward but earnest.

Every gesture carried both innocence and unmistakable desire.

"Is this alright?"

she asked quietly, looking up at him.

Struggling to keep his composure, Nox nodded.

"Yeah... Keep going."

Encouraged, Tessa continued.

Unable to resist any longer, Nox gently rested a hand in her hair, guiding her with patient movements.

She tried her best, determined despite her inexperience.

Her unwavering gaze never left his.

The growing intimacy quickly became overwhelming.

Following pure instinct, Nox slowly moved with her rhythm.

Then Tessa took the initiative, using her hands with growing confidence.

"I want your blessing, Nox."

she whispered hoarsely.

’My blessing?’

Nox thought through the haze of pleasure.

A powerful shiver spread throughout his entire body.

With a deep groan, he finally reached his limit.

He collapsed backward against the pillows, breathing heavily.

Tessa looked at him with a satisfied smile.

"That’s exactly what I wanted."

she said playfully.

Still catching his breath, Nox stared at the ceiling.

"I definitely wasn’t expecting any of this..."

Tessa giggled softly before curling up beside him, absentmindedly tracing circles across his chest with a fingertip.

"I’m sure the others would do the same if they had the chance."

Nox immediately remembered Audrey’s and Misty’s faces when they learned he’d be spending the night in Tessa’s room.

The barely concealed jealousy.

The sharp looks they exchanged.

A quiet laugh escaped him.

"Probably."

"Tomorrow’s going to be interesting."

Tessa rested her head on his shoulder, pressing herself comfortably against him.

The lingering warmth of the Phoenix flames still floated through the room, mingling with the scent of her skin and the quiet intimacy they shared.

Outside the bedroom, the Pyrell Household slept peacefully.

Inside those four walls...

The night had only just begun.

Nox closed his eyes, feeling Tessa’s steady breathing against his neck.

For the first time in a long while, his exhaustion wasn’t only physical.

It was the deep satisfaction that came after finally letting himself relax.

Tomorrow they would face Audrey’s and Misty’s curious stares.

Dawn’s unspoken questions.

And the responsibilities that were always waiting for them.

But for now...

Only the warmth of the redhead beside him existed.

Along with the memory of the quiet sounds she had made moments before.

’This is getting complicated,’

Nox thought with an inward smile.

’And I don’t want it to stop.’

The bathroom light was still on.

Neither of them bothered to turn it off.

Sleep slowly claimed them both as they remained wrapped in each other’s embrace...

A silent promise that there would be more nights like this.
