Chapter 50 -50 Interception

“Enough, drop me off ahead and find a place to get it done quickly, remember to take a good video!”

The woman got out of the car by the roadside and hurried into the nearby mall.

Lu Yanchuan only saw that car stopping by a mall entrance, and it seemed like someone got out. By the time Lu Yanchuan got closer, that person had already disappeared into the crowd.

Looking up at the surveillance camera at the entrance of the mall, Lu Yanchuan made a call to have the footage pulled for his review.

Qiao Yi could no longer struggle. One arm was being grasped by three hands, and both her legs were forcefully pinned down. A hand covered her mouth – she was literally bound as tightly as could be.

Someone had just injected something into her arm, not knowing what drug it was, but right now, she couldn’t feel anything.

...

The hand on her face had touched something foul; it was stenching and nauseating.

As the old saying goes, liquor emboldens the coward. Though Qiao Yi was no coward, under the influence of alcohol, her rationale was slipping away. Her eyes widened and she bit down hard onto the hand that was covering her mouth.

“Ah!!!!”

After a shrill scream, Qiao Yi faintly tasted blood in her mouth.

Perhaps the scream inside the car was too horrific; many passersby gave the vehicle puzzled looks.

“Shut up! Make him shut up!”

Someone let go of Qiao Yi to cover the mouth of the man who had screamed, and at this moment, Qiao Yi started to make noise and struggle again. The car cabin became a chaos once more.

“Don’t let her cause trouble! There’s a police checkpoint up ahead!”

The driver yelled angrily from the front seat, and the people in the back pressed down on Qiao Yi with even greater force. Out of nowhere, a roll of duct tape appeared and with a few quick moves, they sealed Qiao Yi’s mouth.

Qiao Yi was utterly bound and trapped in the car, unable to move or shout, only then did the others in the car take a breath of relief.

This was their line of work and they thought themselves professionals, but they had never encountered such a tough nut.

Thinking of the task given by their boss, a few men began to leer at Qiao Yi, some of the bolder ones even started to touch her inappropriately.

“Keep your paws to yourselves. Until we’ve arrived at the spot, no one is allowed to fool around!”

“Big brother, we can’t even have a little fun to tide us over? Aren’t you being a little too strict?”

“Hey hey, Six, what’s the rush? Once the drugs kick in, are you afraid you won’t have your turn to enjoy?”

The leader had more to say, but suddenly a traffic cop who had been checking vehicles up front walked towards their car.

“Routine check, please show me your driver’s license and registration.”

It wasn’t just one traffic cop who walked over, but three, with a few more looking in their direction from a distance.

The boss’s heart was pounding; these traffic cops couldn’t have come at a worse time!

He composed himself and handed over the driver’s license and registration. The cop, after looking at them, didn’t hand them back immediately, but instead walked to the back and tapped on the side door window.

“Roll down the window.”

“Officer, officer, my wife is changing clothes in the back, it would be inappropriate to roll down the window, right?”

The leader forced a laugh looking towards the cop, his heart nearly jumping into his throat.

The place they chose to make their move was not some remote suburb—acting in such a location was the least safe, and they also tried to choose a secure escape route.

This road was next to a shopping mall, and coupled with the dense traffic and the large number of people, it was rare for traffic police to perform spot checks in the vicinity. Even if traffic police were present, they were typically directing traffic, not inspecting cars one by one.

They had thoroughly investigated beforehand, yet they had the misfortune of encountering such an incident today—it was as if they were cursed!

The traffic policeman glanced at the man in the driver’s seat, then looked at the rear window and waved to someone not too far away.

“It’s okay, we have female officers here—it won’t be inconvenient.”

I’ll fucking kill you, you son of a bitch!

Inside, the boss cursed the other to hell, but his eyes were scanning the surroundings, looking for a way to escape.

Now the mission was impossible to accomplish; all he wanted was to escape from these traffic police, flee the country immediately, and come back after this tumultuous period had passed.

The boss’s hair stood on end with nerves, his fingers were poised on the seatbelt, ready to get out and run at any moment.

“Don’t move.”

The boss froze completely, the dark muzzle of a gun resting against his head prevented any movement.

“Let’s talk it out, please, let’s talk!”

“Raise your hands!”

The traffic policeman lowered his voice, speaking at a volume audible only to the two of them, directing the boss’s hands away from the steering wheel. One door on the passenger’s side opened, and a traffic policeman got in. As soon as he entered, he turned around, holding a gun in each hand, pointing at the person in the back seat.

Everyone was stunned by this sudden twist, afraid to even breathe.

The boss was in utter despair. Forced out of the car at gunpoint, it was only then that he realized just how many police officers were around.

Trembling, he crouched on the ground, and as he watched a traffic policeman board the vehicle and take complete control of the car, he felt utterly defeated.

Their operation had barely begun and had already come to such an end; it was infuriating enough to make someone spew blood.

No chance to spew blood though, the boss was shoved into a police car, and the silver sedan was also taken under police custody, escorted to the station by a circle of police cars.

Lu Yanchuan followed from a distance, only getting out of the car when they reached the police station to check on Qiao Yi.

Seeing Qiao Yi tightly bound and being lifted out of the car, Lu Yanchuan was uncharacteristically enraged.

Qiao Yi’s face was flushed unnaturally. Lu Yanchuan quickly walked over, snatched her from the hands of two police officers, and turned to leave, holding her tight.

Just as a young officer was about to tell him to put her down, he was knocked on the head by an older police officer nearby.

“Shut it. Interrogating these people properly is what you should be doing. That’s the victim’s family. Mind your own business with those folks; you can’t handle it, got it?”

Lu Yanchuan carried Qiao Yi back to the car and tore off the tape wrapped around her, but the tape over her mouth stuck to her hair, leaving him at a loss.

“Mmm…”

As Lu Yanchuan was removing the tape from Qiao Yi, she clung to him bonelessly, panting heavily into his chest.

“Qiao Yi! Qiao Yi! Wake up!”

Qiao Yi couldn’t hear Lu Yanchuan’s voice at all, she just rubbed against him instinctively.

Veins on Lu Yanchuan’s forehead throbbed, he suddenly stopped what he was doing, and after a long pause, he placed Qiao Yi onto the seat and returned to the driver’s seat. With a press on the accelerator, he drove away.
