Chapter 47: Chapter 47
"You think I’m letting you leave?"
Fuguki Suikazan laughed loudly and charged toward the three boys.
But then—
"Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash."
A streak of golden lightning lit up the dim forest.
The sudden flash made everyone freeze for a split second, Fuguki included.
And in that brief opening, a sharp sword edge had already reached Fuguki Suikazan’s neck!
Slash!
With the sound of a blade cutting through flesh, Fuguki Suikazan’s head shot into the air.
Blood sprayed out, filling the dark forest with a blood stench.
Clang.
Samehada fell to the ground, releasing a confused, helpless cry, like a puppy suddenly abandoned by its owner.
"Wha—"
The sudden scene stunned everyone.
Their mouths fell open as they stared at the young man standing beside Fuguki Suikazan’s corpse, unable to speak for a long while.
The newcomer was, of course, Kiriya.
After making up his mind, he had gone alone into the deeper parts of the Dungeon, then activated his ability to travel between worlds and returned to the world of Naruto.
He had not expected to run into a scene like this the moment he arrived.
In that case, there was nothing more to say.
He had to lend a hand here!
After all, that was Might Guy. The blazing youth that had once burned so brightly had lit up an entire summer for him!
"What the hell is this?!"
At last, a voice full of rage rang out.
Jinin Akebino charged forward with Kabutowari in hand, his expression twisted with fury.
He clearly intended to hack Kiriya into pieces.
’Too slow.’
That thought flashed through Kiriya’s mind, but his body had already moved into the next sword form.
"Water Breathing, Seventh Form: Drop Ripple Thrust."
In an instant, the sword in Kiriya’s hand stabbed forward like lightning, slipping past Jinin Akebino’s blunt sword and piercing straight through his heart.
"So... fast..."
Jinin Akebino only managed to say that much before his head tilted to the side and his life faded away.
In the blink of an eye, two of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen had fallen!
The sudden reversal finally snapped the remaining swordsmen out of their daze.
A chill unlike anything they had felt before shot from their spines straight to the tops of their heads.
This man was strong.
If they did not handle him properly, all of them would die.
"He’s the biggest threat here! Kill him first!"
At Jūzō Biwa’s order, the remaining swordsmen all charged toward Kiriya.
"Bastard! Die!"
Jinpachi Munashi rushed ahead of the others.
He leapt high into the air, raising Shibuki and bringing it down in a brutal overhead strike.
Based on his past experience, enemies facing this attack would either dodge to the side or raise their weapons to block.
Either response would still leave them caught in the following explosion.
Even if it did not seriously injure the enemy, it would at least slow them down and create an opening for his comrades.
Many who faced him for the first time had fallen for this trick.
Unfortunately, his opponent was Kiriya.
"Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash—Sixfold."
Kiriya turned into lightning once again, weaving back and forth through the air.
He easily broke out of the swordsmen’s encirclement.. and in the process, he claimed another life.
Jūzō Biwa was eliminated.
"You bastard! Do you only know how to run? If you’ve got guts, face us head-on!"
Raiga Kurosuki’s eyes turned bloodshot as he roared.
"Oh? Didn’t expect you to be such a tough guy."
Kiriya held his sword horizontally before his chest and said seriously, "Come on, then. This time, I won’t run."
"Take this!"
Kushimaru Kuriarare was overjoyed.
He had not expected the enemy to be such an idiot.
A little taunting was enough to make him abandon his greatest advantage—speed—and instead stand still to clash with them head-on.
There were still four of them and their swords were not limited to simple slashing.
"Long Sword Ninja Art: Earth Spider Stitching."
Using Nuibari, Kushimaru Kuriarare had buried multiple steel wires underground during his earlier movements. Now they erupted all at once.
The razor-sharp wires sliced into Kiriya’s calves, drawing blood and forcing his body to pause.
Crackle!
Seizing the chance, Raiga Kurosuki swung Kiba toward Kiriya’s neck.
Slash!
With the sharp sound of a blade cutting through the air, Kiba passed cleanly through Kiriya’s throat without the slightest resistance.
’Bad!’ Raiga’s heart jolted.
That slash had not felt like cutting flesh at all.
It was an illusion.
Sure enough, in the very next second, the young man’s figure rippled like the moon reflected in water before vanishing completely.
"Hinokami Kagura: Fake Rainbow."
The swordsmen’s hair stood on end.
They sensed a deadly crisis and forcefully twisted their bodies, trying to leave the spot.
But it was already too late.
"Hinokami Kagura: Raging Sun."
Kiriya slashed twice at a speed almost impossible to see with the naked eye, cutting in symmetrical arcs from left and right.
Raiga Kurosuki and Kushimaru Kuriarare both fell beneath his blade.
Thud.
As the two corpses hit the ground, the scene once again sank into deathly silence.
Everyone stared at the young man in the middle of the battlefield, their chests packed full of overwhelming shock.
These were the famous Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
They were not random soldiers or disposable fodder found anywhere!
When all seven fought together, they were said to be capable of quickly bringing down a small nation.
And yet an elite squad like that had just lost six members to a single young man in only a few seconds.
Judging by his steady, even breathing, he was clearly nowhere near his limit.
What kind of monster was he?
Since when did the ninja world have someone like him?
Why had they never heard his name or seen any information about him?
Question after question flashed through their minds without answers.
But Jinpachi Munashi no longer cared about any of that.
Driven by an overwhelming desire to survive, his body had already started fleeing into the distance on its own.
Before leaving, Jinpachi swung Shibuki and summoned a terrifying number of explosive tags, then hurled them toward Kiriya in a wide sweep.
Rumble!
The explosive tags set off a chain of blasts, turning everything within dozens of meters into a sea of fire.
"An attack this wide should at least do something, right?" Jinpachi muttered.
But very quickly, he saw Kiriya standing on a tree to his front-right and not a speck of dust on him.
There was no sign that the explosions had touched him at all.
’Monster!’
Jinpachi groaned inwardly and continued swinging Shibuki, summoning even more explosive tags and sending them toward Kiriya.
Boom, boom, boom!
The forest ahead looked as though it had been covered by dense artillery fire.
In the blink of an eye, it was reduced to scorched earth.
Yet it still had no effect.
With Thunderclap and Flash enhancing him, Kiriya’s speed had already far exceeded Jinpachi’s imagination.
In Kiriya’s eyes, those explosive tags were as slow as crawling snails.
’This guy’s strength... is kind of disappointing.’
Kiriya felt a little let down and was just about to end the battle when he caught a flash of blue light from the corner of his eye.
He suddenly stopped.
Jinpachi had still been terrified a moment ago, but seeing Kiriya stop again filled him with shock and joy.
Without even thinking, he ran farther away.
This was a chance from heaven! Not running now would be an insult to himself!
"Stop right there!"
A figure covered in blue flames blocked his path.
Might Duy stood before him, his gaze burning fiercely.
"Get lost!"
Jinpachi was furious.
’Why did every random nobody dare to get in his way?’
’That monster is one thing.’
’But you, what the hell are you trying to prove here?’
With that thought, Jinpachi held nothing back and swung Shibuki in a horizontal slash.
