Chapter 233: Heading For The Kingdom Of Leone

The walk towards Leone continues as we all chatter briefly with one another. Velia and Aria keep trying to find ways to get Lilly talking again but it doesn’t work.

I think Lilly might be the most broke out of all of us right now. Originally I thought maybe we were all just grieving in our own way but I think she might just be different.

It doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense to me why she’d be like this the most but.... I can’t pretend to understand it.

"At Leone shouldn’t be that much further," Eliza speaks up.

"How can you tell?" I question.

"I can just sense all the people," Eliza answers without any hesitation.

Eliza really is special with what she can sense from miles away. It makes me wonder how she didn’t know about who was approaching them.

The day they met another monarch. Why didn’t she sense it right away?

No. No. I can’t go blaming her for something that isn’t the fault, especially when Rokuro probably knew himself. He’s always good at figuring things out so I doubt that he didn’t know.

After an hour of walking I notice some walls in the distance. It is probably Leone.

"Looks like we are finally reaching Leone," Aria says with a bit of relief in her voice.

"Seems so. We’ll definitely have to be on guard in here," Velia replies with a serious tone.

"Where do we find Alfie Eliza?" I ask.

"He’ll probably be in the tavern. It is the one and only tavern in the kingdom," Eliza answers while scratching her head.

"Then it should definitely be easy to find him," I say softly.

Alfie is the guy who is the guy Eliza believes will have information for us but I don’t think he will. He also doesn’t have a reason to tell us anything in the first place.

Even if Eliza uses the "We used to be close" card I doubt it would matter.

People change all the time... It is normal. He probably isn’t the same guy she once knew in the past.

It wouldn’t hurt to be optimistic about finding what we need though. We’ve been trying to find whatever lead we can so this will have to do.

"Is there anything we should know before we reach those gates Eliza?" Velia asks.

"Leone isn’t really a huge threat, especially not after the death of King Albus. It should be relatively peaceful here," Eliza answers with a semi confident tone.

The conversation dies down a bit more as we start to reach the gates. Some guards sit outside of them but they don’t appear to be doing much.

It actually looks like they just let some people in a few moments ago. It might not be that hard to get into this kingdom so that is a good sign.

"Welcome to Leone," The guards both say in unison.

I look towards the others for a second and then we all walk past the gates at the same time. Heading onto the main streets of the kingdom.... The place is huge.

Houses, shops, fountains, stalls, everything is all over the place. The architecture is definitely something I’m not used to seeing since it all looks pretty old.

Demons all walk throughout the streets without paying us any mind.

"Leone is definitely a lot bigger than I imagined," Aria speaks up before the others can.

She is definitely right about that.

Ahead I notice another wall in the distance that appears to separate this portion of the kingdom. It is quite far away but that must mean that it is divided pretty good.

There’s also a lot more guards walking towards that direction so I think I understand it now.

I look around for some sort of place to stay for the time being.

I don’t know how long we’ll be here so it would probably be best to secure a spot to sleep. The streets are definitely not the place to stay if we can help it.

There’s also no telling what kind of enemies lurk in the shadows around us. I’d rather not take my chances with any of that.

Right as I’m about to look back towards the group I notice a small building that sticks out from the others. It appears to have a sign that reads "**** Inn" which means we have our spot.

"Guys I found a place for us to stay," I speak with confidence.

"Great. Let’s go check it out," Velia responds.

I lead them over to the inn and we all enter without any sort of hesitation. The inside of the inn is quite nice with lots of interesting decor.

Paintings of demons against humans, marble floor, walls, and a nicely dressed demon behind the counter. Otherwise I see some seats and tables for people to sit at.

"I got us two rooms. Luckily Eliza has some money to spare," Velia says while holding two keys in her hands.

I didn’t even think about the fact that we don’t really have any money in this realm. We are quite broke compared to our normal realm where the currency is easier to acquire.

Lilly could help with this a lot more if she wasn’t struggling as much as she is right now.

"Let’s go check out the rooms then. I’d love to see what we got," Aria replies with a bit of excitement .

"I second that," I chime in.

I follow them towards the rooms and we end up on the second floor at the end of the hallway. The rooms are in a perfect spot for us.

Aria and Velia share the first room while Lilly, Eliza, and I share the other.

It is a nice room with enough beds for us all, even if it is a little bit cramped in here. I can’t complain about a nice place to stay compared to what we had.

"I hope Alfie is still doing the same job," Eliza speaks up.
