Chapter 97: Don’t Corrupt Your Mind
With the tissue paper bag in hand, Charlotte followed her into the ancient shop, filled with an assortment of treats, including chocolates. Charlotte’s eyes sparkled as she led her to a row of cabinets.
"Thea, look! I found the things I was telling you about yesterday!"
The cabinet was filled with an assortment of essential oils for massaging. "See, I’ve found it!" Charlotte exclaimed, taking out a bottle and holding it in front of her. Thea took the bottle and examined it, her eyes widening as she read the label. "Breast enlargement?" she murmured, looking at Charlotte with a hint of surprise.
Charlotte grinned mischievously. "Let’s grab this chance!"
The old lady, whom they assumed was the shop owner, approached them. "Misses, have you found what you’re looking for?"
The old lady glanced at the bottle in Thea’s hand and nodded. "This bottle contains oil that can be used for various purposes. It’s quite effective."
Charlotte nodded decisively. "Okay, we’ll take two of this bottle."
The old lady smiled. "Okay, let me gift wrap these two for you." She took another same bottle , including the one Thea had in her hand, and headed to the counter to wrap them.
"Don’t you have any shame?"
"No, I’m shameless." Charlotte grinned, teasing her. "Use it daily, it will be helpful. Although you don’t need it," she added with a wink.
Thea retorted with a smile, "You too have an ample chest.." before she exited the shop.
"Wait for me!" Charlotte called out, quickly rushing to the counter to collect the gift-wrapped bottles. After thanking the old lady, she hurried out of the shop to catch up with her.
She shoved the packet into her hand. "I’m going to use it from today onwards." Charlotte chimed happily.
"If you need any help, you can summon me." Charlotte offered, teasing her.
"Get lost! I don’t need you help."
Charlotte taunted, "Shall I ask Mr. Thompson to help you then?He might help you ."
Thea’s face turned red with mock anger. "Charlotte..." she roared, before chasing after Charlotte, who was running away with a giggle.
After a thrilling game of tag, she finally caught up to Charlotte and grasped her arms. "You’re in for it now! I’m going to give you a good smack!" Thea exclaimed, trying to sound stern.
Charlotte feigned distress, covering her face with her hands. "No, please don’t! I won’t be able to show my face to Ryan if you leave a mark!" she cried out, laughing.
After enjoying some snacks, Thea and Charlotte headed to their respective homes. As they parted ways, she made Charlotte pay the bill for the treats.
"You’re so bad," Charlotte said with a laugh. "I only suggested asking Mr. Thompson for help, but you got angry. I hope my wish comes true," she teased, before getting into her car.
Thea shook her head and murmured under her breath, "In your dreams," as she watched Charlotte drive away with a smile.
She placed the packet in her bag and walked home. Once inside, she headed straight to her room and retrieved the packet from her bag. She took the wrapped box and made her way to the balcony, where she slumped down into a chair. With a curious expression, she unwrapped the box, revealing the contents inside.
She carefully read through the instructions on the bottle, her mind weighing the possibilities. "Should I give it a try?" she wondered.
Just then, her inner voice chimed in, "Thea, what are you thinking? Don’t corrupt your mind."
The aroma of the essential oil was incredibly pleasant, with a subtle and intoxicatingly fresh fragrance that filled the air. She closed the lid, savoring the scent for a moment before placing the bottle on her dressing table.
The next day,Thea arrived at University.
Charlotte pulled her aside with a sad look.
"Thea...we have bad news."
"What?"Seeing Charlotte’s demeanor, she wondered what could have happened.
"Lyla.. transferred to another university."
"Why so suddenly?"Thea asked as she was equally shocked on learning it from her.
"They say her father relocated to another city for a construction project. She has no choice but to follow along." Charlotte explained.
"Has she left?"
"No I have called her she is still here. Will leave in this week."
"So shall we prepare a farewell party for her?"Charlotte suggested.
"Hmm.It would be good."
"So deal.We would visit her today in the evening."
"Yes."Thea agreed.
"I would prepare the gift. You prepare some delicious dishes for us."Charlotte assigned tasks for the evening.
In the classroom, Professor Liam was teaching, captivating the attention of his students. Thea and Charlotte sat side by side, trying to focus on the lesson. However, the whispers from the back of the room were distracting.
"Look, he’s teaching. He’s so handsome. I haven’t seen any professor so handsome and sexy," some girls whispered.
"OMG, he’s so dreamy! I’ve never seen a professor so handsome and charming!" Another girl joined.
Charlotte overheard the comments and chimed in, "Hmm, that’s true." She turned to Thea with a grin. "If I hadn’t fallen in love with Ryan, I would surely be his fan girl and would chase after him."
Thea let out a sigh and rolled her eyes, her expression a perfect blend of exasperation and dry humor.
"There’s no harm in admiring from afar, I suppose. I mean, I too have a secret crush on Mr. Thompson after seeing him!"Charlotte teased, "Look ..look , he’s looking at you. If you can’t get Mr. Thompson, then you can try to move on with our Professor."
Thea’s face turned red as she whispered sternly, "Charlotte..."
But it was too late. Professor Liam had already stopped teaching and was looking at Thea "Did anything happen, Miss Klein?" he asked.
Thea stood up, flustered, and apologized, "No, Li... Professor Liam...I am sorry."
Professor Liam smiled and continued with the class.
She sat back down, still slightly flustered, and refocused on taking notes. Just then, Liam wrapped up the lesson. "So, class, we’ll stop here for today," he announced, gathering his materials.
As he spoke, the bell rang, signaling the end of the period. Professor Liam nodded at the students before exiting the classroom.
After leaving the university, Thea headed to the supermarket to pick up some ingredients before going home. As she was browsing the meat section, she heard a soft, coy voice whisper, "Darling, what would you like to eat today? I’ll prepare it for you."
The response was casual, "Make whatever you like."
Thea sensed she knew this voice and turned to see who was speaking. To her surprise, it was Liam, standing alongside a woman who looked like she belonged to high society, judging by her elegant attire.
As their eyes met, Liam’s face broke into a smile. "Thea," he said, his voice low and smooth.
Thea’s cheeks flushed slightly as she replied, her voice soft and slightly breathless, "H-hello, Professor Liam."
Liam’s smile widened as he said, "You don’t have to call me Professor, Thea."
The woman, who was clinging to Professor Liam’s arm, asked, "Who is she, darling?"
Professor Liam’s response was simple, "My student.I have known her since a long time."
The woman’s gaze shifted to her, her eyes sparkling with interest and a hint of possessiveness.
"I am Rachel, Liam’s fiancée," the lady said, extending her hand with a warm smile as she introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you, Miss Rachel." Thea replied, shaking Rachel’s hand.
Rachel then took Liam’s arm and led him to another section of the supermarket, leaving Thea to continue her shopping. She couldn’t help but feel a little shocked upon learning that Liam was engaged, but she was also genuinely happy for him. She had always regarded Liam as an older brother figure, and the thought of him settling down with someone made her smile. She continued her shopping.
At home, after freshening up, Thea headed to the kitchen to prepare some dishes for Lyla’s farewell party. Her grandmother, Grace, was already there, and asked, "Anything special today, dear?"
She explained, "Grandma, Lyla is moving to another city, so she’s transferring to a new university. We’re throwing a farewell party at her house."
Grandma Grace’s expression turned sympathetic as she patted her granddaughter back. "Do you need any help, dear?"
Thea smiled and continued chopping the vegetables. "No, Grandma, I can handle it."
Then while chopping ,she casually mentioned, "By the way, Grandma, I met Liam’s fiancée at the supermarket today."
