Chapter 95: Spitting Image

Thea Listened intently, her eyes filled with empathy for her friend’s distress.

"The gift he bought is exactly the same one I saw her wearing the first time I met her."

Charlotte continued ,"On seeing the pair of earrings, I quickly recognized it."

"Charlotte, you should accept the gift. He might be hurt by your behavior today."

Charlotte’s response was curt. "Let him be."

The two friends walked in silence for a moment, the only sound being the rustling of leaves beneath their feet in the serene Oakwood Park. As they strolled, they approached a cozy cafe near the park’s edge. Thea got up to order their drinks and returned with two steaming cups of coffee, setting them down on the small table between them.

"I’ll stay at your house today." Charlotte blurted out, breaking the silence.

Thea’s expression was understanding. "Okay.." she agreed simply, her eyes filled with empathy. With that, the two friends sat back in their chairs, cradling their coffee cups.

"You know, he made me do the cooking in the hotpot restaurant." Charlotte spoke, a hint of annoyance in her voice.

Thea burst out laughing. "He he, so Young Miss Wright cooked for her Ryan."

Charlotte’s expression turned serious. "It’s not the time to tease, Thea,"

Thea’s laughter subsided, and she nodded understandingly.

"Let’s go, it’s getting late." She said, glancing at the time on her phone. "I have to bring some medicines for Grandma while returning home."

"Bus or cab?" Charlotte asked.

"You choose!"

Charlotte made the decision quickly. "Bus it is, then."

They walked to the bus stop together and quickly boarded the bus as it arrived, finding seats near the window to settle in for the ride home.

The bus stopped at their destination, and Thea and Charlotte disembarked. They walked to a nearby pharmacy to buy the medicine Grandma Grace had asked Thea to buy.

As Thea and Charlotte waited in line at the pharmacy, a young woman ahead of them requested, "I’ll have a packet of condoms, please."

The receptionist, accustomed to such requests, replied matter-of-factly, "Small, regular, or extra-large?"

The young woman, along with Thea and Charlotte, couldn’t help but blush at the blunt question. "R-regular," the woman stammered, trying to composed herself.

The receptionist nodded and went to retrieve a box of condoms from the shelf, handing it to the woman. Thea and Charlotte exchanged a brief, embarrassed glance before looking away, waiting for their turn to purchase the medicine.

After completing her purchase, the young woman swiftly paid and departed to the adjacent car parking area.

Next, Thea approached the receptionist and specified the medicine she needed to buy for her Grandma Grace. Following the payment, she securely carried the packet and exited the pharmacy, joined by Charlotte.

Together, they walked towards Grandma Grace’s house.

"That lady blushed while buying that box." Charlotte said, nodding towards the pharmacy they had just left.

"The box?" Thea asked, glancing at Charlotte who was walking beside her.

"Condoms Box." Charlotte replied, she whispered softly in her ears.

Thea raised an eyebrow. "Why are you so concerned?" she asked.

Charlotte thought for a moment before responding, "In the future, if I face this type of situation, I don’t want to blush like she did."

"With your perverted character, you won’t even blush in your future." Thea uttered. "I can give you a hundred percent guarantee."

"How are you so sure about it?" Charlotte asked, "I haven’t experienced it yet."

Thea looked at her disbelievingly. "Do you want to experience it?"

"Hmm... once we all have to experience such a thing. You too..."

Thea chuckled and playfully scolded, "Charlotte, stop reading those Adult things! It’s corrupting your mind."

Charlotte remained silent, and they continued their walk, finally arriving home. As they entered the living room, Thea announced as she saw Grandma Grace, "Grandma, I have arrived."

Grandma Grace, sitting comfortably in an armchair, looked up from the old album she was browsing through. Her face lit up with a warm smile.

"Good evening, Grandma Grace." Charlotte greeted, approaching her with a gentle smile.

Thea followed suit, setting down the packet of medicine on the coffee table. "I got the medicine you asked for, Grandma." she said, receiving a nod of appreciation from Grandma Grace.

"What are you looking at, Grandma?" Charlotte asked."An Album?"

Grandma Grace smiled warmly as she replied, "Hmm.It’s an old album. Memories from a long time ago."

"Can I see it?"

"Of course, Here" Grandma Grace said, handing over the album. "Take a look."

As Charlotte began to flip through the pages, she spoke up, "Grandma, I’ll stay here today."

"Hmm, you don’t have to ask permission for that. This is your home too."

"I’ll get started on dinner" Thea said before leaving Grandma Grace and Charlotte in the living room.

She made her way to the kitchen, where she promptly washed her hands and began expertly preparing the evening meal. The sounds of chopping, sautéing, and seasoning soon filled the air. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"Grandma, look at Thea! She’s so adorable!" Charlotte squealed, pointing to a childhood photo of Thea.

Grandma Grace’s eyes grew misty as she gazed at the picture, memories of her late daughter flooding her mind. "That’s my daughter, Thea’s mother." she said, her voice laced with a hint of melancholy.

Charlotte noticed the striking resemblance. "Aunty and Thea look so much alike!"

Grandma Grace’s gaze drifted to Thea, who was busy cooking in the kitchen, and a warm smile spread across her face. "Yes, she is the spitting image of her mother..my only daughter Cheyenne"

Thea efficiently completed preparing the evening meal, consisting of tender lemon rosemary chicken breasts, steaming hot vegetable soup, and a side of fluffy white rice. She called out to Grandma Grace and Charlotte from the living room, "Dinner’s ready!"

"Thea, I was looking at your mother’s picture and I thought it was you!" Charlotte exclaimed, settling into her seat at the dining table.Thea chuckled as she served the steaming dishes.
