Chapter 47: I’ll Make You Look Stunning
They opened their eyes at the same time and saw the gift boxes in front of them. "What is there, Grandma?" Charlotte asked.
"Open and see." Agnes replied, her smile encouraging.
Slowly, Charlotte opened the box, revealing a stunning pendant set. The pendant was a oval-shaped design, adorned with intricate patterns and sparkling gemstones. Charlotte gazed at the beautiful piece of jewelry. Her skin tone was stunningly complemented by the vibrant sapphire blue of her pendant.
"Thea..you too open your box..." Agnes urged her.
Thea opened her box, revealing an identical pendant set, but in a gorgeous shade of ruby red. The same delicate, oval-shaped design and intricate patterns sparkled on her pendant, but the bold red color gave it a unique touch.
Both girls gasped in delight, as they gazed at their respective pendant sets. "Grandma, they’re beautiful!" Charlotte exclaimed.
"Grandma, you are so good!" Charlotte exclaimed, her voice filled with gratitude, as she hugged Agnes ,her grandma tightly.
"Okay, okay, keep your flattering words aside..." Agnes replied, her face flushed with pleasure, as she gently patted Charlotte’s back.
"Grandma, it’s lovely.." Thea said softly, her eyes welling up with emotion. "Thank you for thinking of me, but I couldn’t possibly accept it." She looked down, a hint of shyness in her gesture.
"Why,Thea?" Charlotte asked, her brow furrowed with concern.
"I think it’s not appropriate for me to accept such an expensive gift."
"Thea, you too are just like my granddaughter." Agnes said, her voice filled with warmth. "There’s no harm in accepting it, don’t feel so. Besides, I am giving it to you. Just accept it as a gift from your Grandma."
"Yes, Thea, I truly agree with my Grandma’s words."
"Keep it,Thea. We both have the same design, so we’ll be friends for eternity." Charlotte said, her face lighting up with a smile, as she winked at her.
"Thank you, Grandma..." she replied, her voice filled with emotion, as she accepted the gift.
"Thea as Charlotte is going to Canada, I’ll be alone here." Agnes said, her voice tinged with a hint of loneliness. "If you have time, then you can pay a visit to me, or maybe I’ll go and visit your house to chit-chat with your grandma."
Agnes laughed as she replied.
"Yes, Grandma, you are always welcome.",her face lighting up with hospitality. "My Grandma would be happy to have your company too."
"Grandma, that’s not fair!" Charlotte exclaimed, her voice filled with playful mock jealousy. "You’re going to eat all the dishes Grandma Grace will prepare. I’m jealous of you!" Charlotte said, as she teased Agnes about getting to enjoy Grandma Grace’s cooking.
"Don’t be jealous Charlotte..after coming back from Canada you too can enjoy the tasty food your grandma Grace would prepare... First in your absence let me enjoy those dishes...After all you will be not there to snatch a single meals.."Agnes burst out laughing..
"Grandma it’s not so funny...Don’t laugh ..you are to be blame..."
"You two continue your conversation.." Agnes said gently, rising from the bed. "I’m going back to my room to take some rest."
"Wait...I am still not finished..." Charlotte replied, watching Agnes exit the room.
As soon as Agnes was gone, Charlotte exclaimed "Thea let’s see how the pendant looks on us."
Charlotte stood before the mirror, carefully removing the pendant set from its box. She fastened it around her neck, then turned to Thea for approval.
"How do I look?Do I look stunning.." she asked, her face radiant with excitement, seeking Thea’s validation.
It’s beautiful.." she replied, her eyes admiring Charlotte’s reflection.
"Wait here for a moment. I want to grab something.."
She rushed to her wardrobe and disappeared from view, leaving her wondering what she was up to.
A few moments later, Charlotte reemerged, carrying a stunning, floor-length gown.
"Put this on.." Charlotte instructed, handing her the dress. "And then wear the pendant set with it."
Her eyes sparkled with anticipation, eager to see Thea adorned in the beautiful attire.
"Is it necessary?"
"Yes, yes, it is necessary. Just do what I say right now.." Charlotte instructed, her voice filled with playful bossiness.
She sighed, took the dress from Charlotte’s hand, and went to change. She emerged from the changing room wearing a stunning, long-sleeved gown made of silk and lace. The dress was red color that perfectly complemented her skin tone and dark hair.
"Come here, let me help you wear the jewelry.." Charlotte said, as she gestured to Thea.. Thea stood in front of the large oval mirror, Charlotte stood behind her and helped her wear the pendant. "Perfect. You are looking so beautiful..." Charlotte exclaimed from behind her.
"I am thinking of giving you this dress.." Charlotte replied, her voice filled with generosity, as she stood behind her, placing her hand on her shoulder.
"No way, Charlotte. I am not going to accept this dress."
"If you refuse, then I am not going to talk to you ever."
"Charlotte, listen... don’t force me to accept this.I really can’t.Just now your grandma gifted a pendant." Thea pleaded.
"Then be ready. I will never talk to you.." Charlotte retorted, her voice firm.
"This will be the last time." Akai agreed, knowing that if Charlotte was determined to do something, she would stop at nothing.
"That’s like my girl." Charlotte continued, a smile spreading across her face. "Now sit here and let me do your makeup."
She sat in front of the dressing table, surrendering to Charlotte’s expertise. After a few minutes passed, Charlotte exclaimed, "All set! Now look in front and see your look."
As Thea gazed at her reflection, she was captivated by the stunning transformation. Her eyes shone with wonder, while a radiant smile illuminated her face.
"See, I told you. I have full confidence in my makeup skills." Charlotte proudly replied.
"Charlotte, I too have a request." Charlotte nodded her head, encouraging her to proceed.
"You helped me with my makeup; now let me also do it for you.."
"You want to do my makeup?"
"Yes.."Thea was excited to help Charlotte.
"Okay, let me choose the dress then before you start my makeup." Charlotte said, her eyes scanning the wardrobe, as she went to select her outfit.
Charlotte chose a beautiful, flowing gown made of chiffon and organza. The dress was a soft, blush pink color that perfectly complemented her bright smile and sparkling eyes. The gown featured delicate layers of tulle underneath, giving it a romantic and whimsical touch. The pendant adorned her neck, adding a touch of elegance to the overall design.
After wearing the dress, Charlotte went to sit in front of the dressing table, and Thea started to do her makeup. "Have you done it on others previously?" Charlotte asked, her curiosity piqued.
"No, you are the first one in my list.."Thea replied, her face focused on her work.
After completing Charlotte’s makeup, Thea said, "Now see." Charlotte looked at herself in the mirror and exclaimed, "Gosh..I like the look!"
"Let’s take a photo to make this memorable." Charlotte suggested. Both of the friends posed, and Charlotte took the photo with her camera. "I will give you a copy of this photo later.."
While looking at the photo in her camera, she was satisfied with it. "Thea on my wedding day, I want you to do my makeup." Charlotte suddenly said, her voice filled with conviction.
"Are you sure? What if you later change your mind if you find someone who is more efficient than me?"Thea chuckled.
"Don’t worry, I just want you to do my makeu..no one else." Charlotte said with a resolute smile.
"Got it! I’ll make you look stunning in your wedding day.."
After spending some time together, Thea changed her outfit, deciding it was time to head home.Charlotte placed the dress she had given to her in a packet, along with the pendant her grandma had gifted her. "Let the driver drive you home.." Charlotte suggested.
After bidding a warm goodbye to Charlotte and Agnes, Thea made her way to the car, where the driver was waiting to take her home.
Thea gazed out the window, feeling grateful for the wonderful day she had just had with her dear friend ,Charlotte.
Upon arriving at her home, Thea thanked the driver and stepped out of the car, feeling happy and content after a day filled with laughter, friendship, and love.
