Chapter 169: Send It To Grandma And You Can Also...
"Because she knew I said the correct thing... Right, my dear Grandma?" Charlotte winked at Grandma Agnes.
Grandma Agnes smiled knowingly. "Hmm... As children grow up, they often say such things."
"Mother, you’re being too supportive of her," Mila said.
Grandma Agnes replied, "Mila, in the future, her own children will also call her talk old-fashioned."
Charlotte whined, "Grandma..."
Mila stood firm, folding her arms across her chest. "Now, why complain? What your grandma said is correct. You’re calling our conversations boring, and your future children will likely feel the same way."
"My future children?" Charlotte snapped, her eyes glazing over as she drifted into her own world.
Thea gently patted her shoulder. "Charlotte..."
Mila smiled knowingly. "Look at her, lost in her own thoughts."
Thea pinched Charlotte’s arm, trying to snap her back to reality. "Ouch!" Charlotte rubbed her arm, looking at Thea in surprise.
Thea whispered, "Darling, please come back to reality. Aunty was saying something to you."
Charlotte’s smile returned as she remembered her daydream. She turned to her mother, refocusing on the conversation.
Mila asked, "What were you thinking, Charlotte?"
Charlotte hesitated, "Mother, it’s about my future..."She trailed off, then quickly added, "I was thinking about my future studies."
"When did you become so enthusiastic about your studies, Charlotte? You’re even thinking about them now."
Thea and Grandma Agnes couldn’t help but laugh. "Pfft!" they exclaimed, their laughter filling the room.
Charlotte shot a mock-glare at Thea and Grandma Agnes. Thea managed to compose herself, but as soon as she caught Grandma Agnes’s eye, they both burst out laughing again.
"Mother, you mean I don’t study?" Charlotte asked, pretending to be offended.
Mila chuckled. "No, sweetie, that’s not what I meant. I was just surprised that you’re already thinking about your future studies when we were discussing something else entirely. You were so lost in thought, and I was taken aback... but it’s actually wonderful to see you thinking ahead."
"I’m going upstairs.." Charlotte said with a smile, gently tugging Thea along.
As they ascended, Mila and Grandma Agnes burst into laughter again, their joyful sounds carrying upstairs.
Charlotte halted on the stairs, a somewhat annoyed expression on her face. "Ahh, they’re still laughing. "
Thea playfully nudged Charlotte’s shoulder. "Were you genuinely considering your future studies? " she inquired, with a trace of doubt in her tone.
Charlotte’s reply was swift and defensive. "What do you believe? "
Thea’s smile broadened as she jested, "Let me guess. . . You were. . . " She took a moment. ". . . not thinking about it. "
"Actually, I was thinking about my future kids.." Charlotte admitted with a smile.
Thea’s eyes lit up with excitement. "Already imagined? Tell me, I want to hear about it!" She closed the door behind them as they entered Charlotte’s room.
"I want two kids.." Charlotte began, a dreamy look in her eyes.
"And their father is... Ryan?" Thea asked, a hint of playful teasing in her voice.
Charlotte nodded, her smile growing wider. "Yes, it would be perfect. And I think it would be great if one of the kids looked like me and the other looked like him."
"How many children do you wish for? " Charlotte inquired, her interest sparked.
Thea responded by shaking her head. "I haven’t given it much thought. "
Charlotte’s expression brightened with a playful smile. "I’ll be sure to pray for you... ’Please, God, grant my friend a dozen children... 12 little bundles of joy with her future partner...’"
Thea’s eyes grew wide with disbelief. "You’re joking, right? "
Charlotte laughed. "I’m completely serious! And if you do end up with 12 kids, I’m taking the title of godmother for all of them. "
"With that many children, we could form our own football team! "
Charlotte: "Not a bad idea indeed... I’m sure your husband will surely support your suggestion, after all, he won’t be lacking any money."
Thea playfully shot back, "Charlotte, stop with your absurd ideas! I’ll too pray to God to bless you with a whole bunch of kids who’ll drive you crazy!"
Thea’s phone rang, and she quickly answered the call.
"Thea, where did you put that new medicine bottle?" Grandma Grace’s voice asked.
Thea smiled, catching herself before making a slip-up. "That..kid... uh, the bottle is in your pouch, Grandma."
Grandma Grace’s warm laughter filled the line. "Okay, got it. Thea, are you enjoying yourself there?"
"Yes, Grandma, I am. And you?" Thea replied.
"I’m doing great too. I have something for you here... I’ll give it to you when you get back home.." Grandma Grace said.
After a few more minutes of conversation, Thea hung up the call.
Charlotte teased, "Thea, you almost called the medicine bottle ’kid’!"
Thea shot Charlotte an annoyed look.
The next day...
Charlotte knocked on the door. "Have you gotten ready?"
Thea opened the door, and Charlotte’s eyes widened in surprise.
"You haven’t changed yet?"
Thea’s expression turned pleading. "Charlotte, please? Let me wear that dress just this once. I promise, next time I’ll wear the other one."
Thea eyed the dress Charlotte had laid out for her. "Wear this one, I chose it especially for you.." Charlotte said with a smile.
Thea began to protest, "Charlotte—"
But Charlotte wouldn’t budge. "Thea, don’t argue with me. Just put on the dress."
Thea sighed, took the dress, and headed to change.
When she reappeared, Charlotte nodded in satisfaction. "You look stunning, Thea. This dress was made for you.." she said, admiring her handiwork.
Thea’s presence was mesmerizing as she wore the exquisite desert rose gown. The delicate fabric hugged her curves, while the intricate beading shone.
As she moved, the flowing skirt rustled softly, releasing a whisper of elegance and sophistication.
"Come to my room. You will do my makeup."
Thea followed Charlotte to her room, but what she saw took her breath away.
Thea’s gaze was transfixed on Charlotte, her beauty leaving Thea momentarily speechless. "Am I looking pretty?" Charlotte asked, a hint of vulnerability in her voice.
"Indeed... beautiful," Thea replied, her voice filled with sincerity. "The dress is stunning on you."
Charlotte’s eyes sparkled with delight as she sat down in front of the mirror. "You do my makeup, and I’ll do yours... deal?" she proposed, looking up at Thea with a playful smile.
"Okay.." Thea agreed, moving to stand behind Charlotte. "What hairstyle were you thinking of?"
"You decide..."
Thea styled Charlotte’s hair in a trendy, undone updo, with loose strands framing her face and adding a touch of whimsy to the overall look.
A delicate hair clip adorned with tiny, sparkling gemstones secured the updo, adding a hint of glamour and sophistication. The result was a fresh, modern look that perfectly complemented the ruby red gown.
With the hairstyle complete, Thea turned her attention to Charlotte’s makeup..
She began by applying a light, velvety foundation that matched Charlotte’s skin tone, creating a flawless canvas for the rest of the makeup. Next, she added a subtle, shimmery highlighter to the high points of Charlotte’s face, including her cheekbones, nose, and cupid’s bow, giving her skin a radiant, lit-from-within glow.
Thea then defined Charlotte’s eyes with a soft, smoky eyeshadow look, featuring shades of champagne, taupe, and soft gray. She lined Charlotte’s upper lash line with a subtle, brown pencil and added a few coats of black mascara to make her lashes pop.
Finally, Thea added a bold, ruby red lip color that perfectly matched the gown, completing Charlotte’s glamorous, red-carpet-ready look.
"Done.." Thea uttered.
"I like my look...." Charlotte replied, admiring herself.
"Charlotte..." Mila entered her room. "You look stunningly gorgeous..." Mila gasped.
"Thea did the makeup.." Charlotte said, smiling.
Mila glanced at Thea and smiled. "Mother, now don’t go and inform others about my look downstairs. I want to surprise them."
"Okay...I won’t say anything as you wish.." Mila smiled before she got out of the room.
Charlotte had chosen a romantic, half-up half-down hairstyle, with the top section styled in loose, flowing waves and the lower section cascading down her back in soft, silky strands. Her nails were painted a matching ruby red hue.
"Hmm, like my makeup skills?"
"Yes," Thea replied with a smile.
"Now, let’s take a picture and send it to your grandma.." Charlotte suggested.
The two friends posed together, and Thea clicked the photo.
"Perfect!" Charlotte exclaimed. "Send it to Grandma, and you can also send it to.. Mr. Thompson."Charlotte smiled mischievously and teased.
