Chapter 143: You Can’t Escape From Me
The room seemed to shrink as Charlotte continued to move forward, her eyes never leaving Thea’s face. Thea’s back was against the wall, and she had nowhere else to go. Charlotte’s face was inches from hers, her breath warm on Thea’s skin.
Thea’s heart was racing, and she couldn’t help but got tensed at the absurdity of the situation.Charlotte leaned in, her lips brushing against Thea’s ear. "You can not escape from me that easily.Thea." she whispered, her voice sending shivers down Thea’s spine.
Thea’s voice trembled slightly as she asked, "What are you going to do?"
Charlotte’s smile was mysterious, and her voice was low and sultry. "I don’t know." she said, her eyes roaming over Thea’s face, taking in every detail.
Thea’s skin felt like it was on fire as Charlotte’s gaze lingered on her. Charlotte whispered, her voice soft and gentle, "Thea, your skin is so good. Let me take care of you."
Thea’s eyes snapped back to Charlotte’s, and she laughed nervously. "C... Charlotte, are you possessed?" she asked, trying to break the tension.
But Charlotte’s expression was intense, her eyes burning with a playful passion. "Yes, I am obsessed with you, Thea." she said, her voice filled with a teasing sincerity.
Charlotte’s face was inches from Thea’s, and she could feel her friend’s warm breath on her skin. Thea’s heart was racing,"Char..lo..tte, Charlotte, look, I am Thea.." Thea said, holding up her hands in a defensive gesture, but Charlotte’s eyes just sparkled with mischief, and she leaned in closer, her lips brushing against Thea’s ear.
Charlotte’s whisper was a gentle tease, her words tickling Thea’s ear. "Thea...Did you enjoy the act?"
Thea’s words came out in a rebuke,"Charlotte, move, and keep your jokes apart." But Charlotte’s reaction was far from apologetic. Instead, she said, "I am going to take part in an act, so I thought, why not apply it to you."
Thea’s eyes narrowed slightly, unsure of what Charlotte meant. "Act?" she asked, her tone cautious.
"Hmm, I am enhancing my acting skills." Charlotte said, a hint of excitement in her voice, as she revealed her latest endeavor.
But before Thea could ask any questions, Charlotte changed the subject. "By the way, this weekend we are going shopping." she said.
Thea’s brow furrowed slightly. "For?" she asked, her tone inquiring, seeking clarification on the purpose of their shopping trip.
Charlotte’s grin returned, and she replied, "My cousin’s wedding. Now, don’t tell me you have totally forgotten about it." she teased, her voice playful, as if daring Thea to admit she had forgotten.
Thea shook her head,"No, I remember.."
Charlotte nodded, seeming to approve of Thea’s memory. "Then it’s good." she said, her tone satisfied.
Thea’s thoughts turned to someone else, and she asked, "Is Mr. Harrington coming to the wedding ceremony? I haven’t met him yet." her voice casual.
"Hmm, yeah, you haven’t seen him, but it’s good that he would also be present there in the ceremony."
"Okay, you enhance your acting, I am going to meet your grandma before leaving." Thea said, as she prepared to take her leave.
Charlotte asked,"Baby, should I drop you at your home?" Her voice was sweet and endearing, but Thea’s response was immediate.
"Charlotte, don’t call me baby," Thea said. "What will others think if they hear you calling me baby?"
Charlotte’s grin was unrepentant. "You are baby, so I have to call you that.Baby, are you drinking the juices I have given you?" she asked, her voice teasing.
Thea’s expression turned sheepish, and she replied, "Hmm, only one bottle left." She seemed to be admitting to enjoying the juices, and Charlotte’s response was enthusiastic.
"I should order some more for you." Charlotte said, her tone thoughtful, as if she was already making plans to restock Thea’s supply of juices.
"Give me the website, I will buy them later." Thea said, seeming to take charge of restocking her own juices.
Charlotte nodded, agreeing to share the information. "Okay, I will send you the link later." she said, her tone casual.
As they prepared to part ways, Charlotte suggested, "Hmm, let’s go, I will drop you off."
Thea’s thoughts turned to their upcoming trip, and she asked, "Charlotte, for how many days are we going to the wedding ceremony?" Her voice was inquiring, seeking clarification on the duration of their stay.
Charlotte’s response was straightforward. "For four days." she replied, her tone matter-of-fact, as if she had been looking forward to the trip for a while.
They made their way to Grandma Agnes’ room, and Charlotte knocked gently on the door before turning the knob and entering. "Grandma, Thea came to see you," she announced, her voice warm and inviting.
Grandma Agnes’ eyes lit up with a warm smile as she greeted Thea. "Thea, how are you?" she asked, her voice gentle and caring.
Thea returned the smile, her eyes shining with affection. "Good evening, Grandma. I am good, how are you?" she replied, her tone respectful and considerate.
Grandma Agnes nodded, seeming to appreciate Thea’s thoughtfulness. "Hmm, I am good too," she said, her eyes twinkling with warmth. "So, you are going with us to the wedding ceremony?"
Charlotte jumped in, her arms wrapping around Thea’s in a gentle grasp. "Hmm, Grandma, I have forced her to accompany me." she said, her tone playful and teasing, as if she had coerced Thea into joining them on the trip.
"I know that, you missy." Grandma Agnes said, she was aware of Charlotte’s mischievous ways.
"Grandma, I am dropping her at her home,"
"Are you going to stay there tonight?" Grandma Agnes looked at her granddaughter and asked.
Charlotte shook her head. "No, Grandma, moreover, our Thea had something very important to complete." she said, her tone innocent, but Thea’s reaction was immediate.
Thea, hearing Charlotte’s explanation, reached behind her and pinched Charlotte’s palm hard, as if warning her not to reveal any more information. Charlotte winced, but didn’t make a sound.
"We are leaving, Grandma." Thea announced, her tone gentle, as she tried to steer Charlotte towards the door.
Grandma Agnes nodded, seeming to accept their departure. "Hmm." she replied, her voice soft, as she watched them leave.
Charlotte dropped Thea off at her home, and as Thea got out of the car, she turned to Charlotte and asked, "Are you not coming inside?"
"No, what if I changed my mind and decided to pester you?"
Thea chuckled and replied, "If you want to stay, then stay." But Charlotte was quick to tease her further.
"No, no, what if in yoursleep, you think me your Mr. Thompson and try to snuggle in my arms?"
Thea smacked Charlotte’s arm before she could finish her sentence. "How can a well-bred lady like you talk rubbish like this here?" Thea retorted softly, her tone scolding.
Charlotte’s smile was unrepentant. "For you, I can." she said, her voice low and husky.
"Ah, Charlotte, you came to drop Thea home." a voice called out from a distance. Grandma Grace, walked towards them and stood beside Thea. She was dressed in a sky blue loose top and a black skirt that fell just below her knees, paired with black flat booties. Her grey hair was tied into a neat bun, giving her a elegant and refined look.
But then her expression turned questioning as she looked at Thea. "Thea, why did you smack your friend? I have seen you."
Thea looked defensive, and complained, "Grandma, you don’t know this girl, she is so outrageous." She shook her head, as if to say that Charlotte had brought it upon herself.
But Charlotte was quick to defend herself. "Grandma, you tell, did I say anything wrong?" she asked, her voice innocent. "I simply said that if I stay with her, she might do something in her sleep."
Grandma Grace sighed and laughed, shaking her head. "You youngsters," she said, her tone affectionate. But then she turned serious, looking at Thea sternly. "Thea, say sorry to her. You are wrong to smack your friend."
Thea looked sheepish, and protested, "But grandma, I have smacked her lightly."
But Charlotte was not going to let her off that easily. She clutched her arm, pretending to be in pain. "Ouch, Thea, you have smacked me using all your energy." she exclaimed, her eyes wide with pretend hurt, and a dramatic flair that made Grandma Grace chuckle.
