Chapter 131: Not Easy To Let Go Our Feelings

"Are you going on a blind date tomorrow?Or meeting your Little Girlfriend Ava?"

"Focus on your own business!"With that, he totally ignoring her earlier question.

She simply tossed the pen aside, got up, and sprawled over his side. "Answer me first, are you going on a blind date tomorrow or going to meet her?"

"Is that any of your business?"

"Why not?!"She got all anxious.

"What has it got to do with you if I go to a blind date or meet my little girlfriend?" The man regarded her with a meaningful look.

"Is that any of your business?"

"Why not?!"

"It has... everything to do with me!" It was only after thinking of an excuse for a while did an idea strike her and she said, "Think about it, I am now being put up at your place. What’s gonna happen if your future wife doesn’t like me? What am I to do if she bullies me, detests me, abuses me? So, in my opinion, you should bring me along to your blind date and let me assess the person!"

She spoke of her convictions with such confidence.

"Bully, detest, and abuse you? Charlotte, are you sure you are not telling me the biggest joke of the century?"

"... ..Huh.. What do you mean?"

Ryan cocked his eyebrows. "The most important thing to consider when looking for a wife is whether or not she will be bullied and abused by you, this little demon..."

"You..." She stomped her foot in anger. "Am I that evil in your eyes?!"

"Go back to your house ..Your Grandma is waiting for you.....!" ordered the man sternly once again.

"Will you take me with you tomorrow then?" she asked again.

"No way!"

This got Charlotte all gloomy and depressed..

Inside the lavish living room of the Thompson’s Mansion in Rhode Island..

Elder Edward’s voice cut through the din of conversation, his eyes locked onto Ryder’s face. "Ryder, have you decided who will accompany you to the Exclusive Rooftop Dinner?"

Ryder’s expression turned introspective, his gaze drifting downward for a moment before he met his grandfather’s eyes. "I’ve made my decision, Grandpa," he said, his voice low and deliberate. "I have someone in mind."

The room fell silent, the only sound the soft clinking of glasses and the muted hum of conversation from the room. All eyes were fixed on Ryder in surprise.

Elder Edward’s eyebrows rose. "Really? You have chosen someone already?"

Thea’s posture stiffened..

"Ryder, is this person someone we know?"

The room fell silent, with all eyes fixed on Ryder as they awaited his response. Ryder’s gaze remained calm and composed.

He replied to his mother in a measured tone, "No, Mother."

Pausing to take a spoonful of his meal, Ryder’s deliberate slowness only served to heighten the tension in the room.

Thea was shocked at his words.

"Who is she?"Elder Edward asked.

"Darling don’t ask him if he doesn’t want to answer.."Grandma Rosie spoke to her husband..

Elder Edward’s eyes narrowed slightly as he stated, "I need to lay eyes on her myself before I can accept their relationship and give it my approval."

Elder Edward’s gaze locked onto Ryder’s as he asked, "So, Ryder, when can we expect to meet her?"

Ryder nodded deferentially, his voice steady. "I will bring her to meet you, Grandfather."

After the meal finished..

Ryder entered into his room, removed his clothes tossed it on bed and entered the bathroom. When he was standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom and said, "It seems like grandpa is going to jump with happiness soon." There was a pleasant smile on his face.

The twins were too curious to know who the person their elder brother Ryder liked..

"Sister Thea do you have any idea who Brother Ryder likes?"Lydia asked her.Thea was silent as she didn’t hear her words.

"Sister Thea.. Sister.."Lydia called her again on not getting any response from her.

She tapped her shoulder lightly..

Thea turned to her ..she was still in dazed..

"Do you know who he likes?"Melanie asked..

She shook her head..she tried to keep her emotions stable..

"That brat is so mysterious..He was quite good at playing games with us.."Elder Edward spoke...

"Father...you too are also a good player..After all he learnt it from you.."Ryder’s father, Harrison spoke..

"But I am not like your son.."Elder Edward looked at his son and glared..

Thea sought refuge in her room, closing the door behind her. But before she could collect her thoughts, a knock interrupted the silence.

She opened the door to find Grandma Grace standing before her.

She stepped aside, allowing her grandmother to enter. Grandma Grace quietly closed the door and took Thea’s hand, leading her to the bed where they sat down together.

Grandma Grace gazed tenderly at Thea’s face, her eyes searching for the truth. "Thea, are you upset that Ryder has someone he likes?" she asked gently.

Thea’s expression wavered for a moment, a fleeting glimpse of sadness crossing her face. But she quickly composed herself, forcing a bright smile onto her lips. "Grandma, I’m truly happy if he’s found someone special," she said, her voice steady. "His happiness is my happiness."

Grandma Grace’s knowing gaze suggested she saw beyond her words. She had long suspected her feelings for Ryder.

"I know it is not easy to let go of our feelings.." Grandma Grace said softly, her voice filled with compassion and understanding. She opened her arms, enveloping Thea in a warm, comforting embrace.

Thea’s fragile smile weakened as tears threatened to surface. Her Grandma’s comforting words and gentle hug provided solace, but the ache in her heart lingered.

Later she gently encouraged Grandma Grace to return to her room for a nap, grateful for the warmth of their conversation but needing solitude to process her emotions.

As soon as Grandma Grace disappeared into her room, Thea closed her own door and leaned against it, her back sliding down the wooden panel until she sat on the floor. The weight of her heartbreak settled in.

Learning that Ryder had someone he liked had shaken her deeply. The image on his phone wallpaper, haunted her. She couldn’t shake the feeling that this was the girl who had captured Ryder’s heart.

With her head in her hands, Thea let out a silent sigh. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she confronted the painful truth: her feelings for Ryder might never be reciprocated.

In the quiet of her room, she allowed herself to feel the sting of rejection and the ache of unrequited love.

Thea’s mind raced with a singular obsession: uncovering the identity of the girl who had captured Ryder’s heart. But for now, the weight of her emotions overwhelmed her.

She drifted to her bed, collapsing onto the soft mattress as tears began to fall, soaking into the pillow. The ache within her expanded, threatening to consume her.

As she lay there, Thea couldn’t shake the painful realization: her dreams of a future with Ryder seemed doomed to remain just that – dreams. The harsh truth settled in: there was no path forward for her and Ryder, no happily-ever-after to be found.

Her body shook with silent sobs, each tear a tangible representation of her shattered hopes. The thought of Ryder loving someone else sliced through her, leaving her feeling lost and bereft.

In the solitude of her room, she surrendered to her grief, allowing herself to mourn the loss of a love that never was.

In the evening.. Thea went to take a walk ..When she found Ryder in the backyard’s garden.

There, he stood leaning against the lotus pond’s bridge railing..

With his tall, well-proportioned figure, firm abs, and his long slender legs, he looked so effortlessly perfect like a prince who came straight out from a poster. Not only was he dependable and high-born, but he even exuded the unique charm of a mature man!

It was this unique charm that got her so captivated with him, and that fascination apparently only got her to fall deeper and deeper into her one-sided love.

Unaware of her gaze, Ryder remained lost in thought, his eyes fixed on the water. Thea’s footsteps were quiet on the gravel path as she approached him.

She padded over to him and lightly tugged the back of his shirt. She hesitated, unsure if she should ask Ryder the question that had been plaguing her.
