Chapter 102: It’s Good To Scare You

"Who’s cuter, me or your little one?" Charlotte asked in a teasing tone, playfully turning the conversation into a lighthearted joke.

Thea: "You’re my Cece.By the way..I met Liam while coming back home."

"What did our handsome professor say?"

"Nothing much, only invited me to attend a dinner event."

"Mr. Thompson will be present?"

"Hmm."Thea replied.

"For tomorrow, don’t forget to dress up and make your man fall in love with you."

Thea: "I am not going to follow your advice."

Charlotte: "Follow my advice, and there will be instant results... maybe others will fall in love with you too."

She kept silent before asking,"Thea, if one day two people fall for you, what are you going to do?"

"Charlotte, what rubbish are you speaking? Don’t feed your brain with this type of obnoxious ideas."

Charlotte: "I am just assuming..."

"What will you do if you face that situation?"

Charlotte: "Even if it happens, my eyes only have Ryan."

At Thompson’s Mansion.. 7 o’clock...

The whole family was present in the garden of the mansion. The garden was specious and beautiful with various beautiful flowering and decorative plants. There was a small water fall at the one corner of the garden decorated with rocks and statues. In the centre there was a patio surrounded by circular fish pond and having a small wooden bridge attached to it.

Everyone was sitting on the chairs arranged in a circle with a wooden circular tea table in the centre. They were chatting happily sipping an evening tea .All the family members were together like this after a long time except for Ryder. The next day was Saturday so everyone was relaxed.

Brenda Watson, the only daughter of Elder Edward and Rosie, was an impressive woman. She was the younger sister of Harrison. She came to New York with her family all the way from Dallas. She had an impressive personality. She was tall and had a well-maintained figure even in her early forties.

"How are you brother-in-law Anderson?" Harrison asked while shaking hands with him.

"I’m good. Can’t you see your sister is taking good care of me?" Anderson smiled and glanced at his wife, who was still busy with her parents.

"Yeah... Still trying to woo my sister?" Harrison asked with a smile, shaking hands with him.

"Haha! What can I do? I can’t get enough of your sister." Anderson replied, winking at his wife, who was now looking at him after hearing his comment.

"No need to woo me. I already got deceived by you 19 years ago when I decided to marry you." Brenda said with a laugh. Everyone chuckled at this.

"Anderson, how is your father?" Elder Edward asked.

"He is making steady progress." Anderson replied, his expression solemn, referencing the recent stroke that had prevented his family from attending Elder Edward and Rosie’s wedding anniversary celebration.

Brenda and Anderson shared a loving relationship, just like Elder Edward and Rosie. Anderson Watson loved and respected her, and the feeling was mutual. He was a successful and respectable figure in the business world.

"Grandpa, Grandma, wish you a very happy late wedding anniversary." the two twin sisters and a little girl said, hugging Elder Edward and Rosie.

"Thank you so much." the elderly couple replied, hugging them back.

"Lydia and Melanie, you are looking so pretty, just like your grandmother." Harrison said.

"Thank you so much, Uncle. But are you trying to woo your wife too, just like our father?" Lydia asked with a grin.

Harrison smiled at her words and turned to Anderson.

Harrison: "How’s everything going on there in the factory?

Anderson:"Everything is good as usual."

"Did I call you people to talk about your work here? Leave your business back in the office before coming to home." It was Elder Edward frowning at them

This time everyone was present at home including Anderson and his wife Brenda, elder Edward wanted to spend time with the whole family together.

"Sorry father. We were just...." Harrison couldn’t continue further when he looked at the frowning Elder Edward.

"How was your trip my beautiful grand daughters?" Edward asked while looking at his two grand daughters, ignoring his son.

"It was fantastic grandpa...Sydney was awesome. There we went to...."

When they were chatting Emerson the youngest Granddaughter of Elder Edward, saw that Ryder was coming in their direction. She got up and ran towards him.

"You know brother Ryder? Just now Grandpa scolded father and uncle...he.he..you should have come sooner to see their faces."

Ryder just smile at her and continued walking along with her towards the sitting area.

Melanie and Lydia both twins gave a short summary of their trip to grandpa.Suddenly Melanie looked in the direction of Ryder and her younger sister coming towards them.

Melanie:"Don’t you think Brother Ryder is too handsome?"She said in a very low pitch that only Lydia could hear what she said.

Lydia :"Not just handsome but damn sexy." She said following Melanie’s sight.

Melanie :"I wonder, how many girls would have been head over heels for him"

Lydia:"I am sure all of them must have had crazy nights thinking about him."

Melanie:"Haha!! You are right, but it’s not good to talk about our Brother like this."

Lydia:"He is our brother that’s why we have a right to talk anything about him."

Lydia looked in their direction again and said, "Look at them. Our younger sister seems to be head over heels in love with brother Ryder."She replied with camp low pitch.

Ryder and Emerson reached to the sitting area. Both sat next to each other. When Elder Edward saw Ryder, he stopped talking. looked at Ryder and said,"I want one more big event to celebrate in our family."

Everyone thought, now there was going to be an announcement.

Elder Edward: "I want you to get married soon."

Both the twins exclaimed, "Wow. marriage!! Finally he talked something good and meaningful...Count us in."

Harrison : "Grandpa is right. You should think about having a family now."

With this sentence from Harrison everyone nodded and started to ask him to get married.

Ryder said, "Grandpa till this time you were behind me, to give you great grandchildren and now what’s with this sudden marriage thing.I told you previously I will definitely fulfill your dream." Because of this sudden demand from his Grandpa out of the blue, he was shocked that he didn’t realise what he just said and gave Grandpa another chance to mock him down.

"That morning, you agreed to fulfill my wish to have great-grandchildren, so I thought marriage would be a good step before that." Grandpa said.

Before Ryder could respond, Emerson frowned and asked in her childish voice, "Are you really going to get married?"

"No, I am not getting married at present. Don’t pay attention to Grandpa’s words," Ryder replied.

But Emerson’s concerns persisted, "But what if you did get married? I know you will love your wife and won’t pay attention to me."

Ryder reassured her, "If I got married, then you will have one more person to love you. She would be the one to love you and care for you, just like me."

Emerson’s eyes widened with hope, "Really?!"

Ryder confirmed in a firm voice, "Yes!!"

The next day, after lunch, Thea and Grandma Grace were engrossed in a movie in the living room. "Haha!! That one was good!" Grandma Grace exclaimed, delighted by the romantic scenes in the classic film they were watching. "Yeah..." Thea agreed with Grandma Grace. Grace was indulging in old movies from her era, and Thea, with no other plans, had joined her grandma for a movie afternoon.

When the doorbell rang, she got up to answer it. "Who is it?" she asked from behind the door, peeking through the peephole. But when she opened the door, she found no one. Suddenly, a voice shouted, "Surprise!" startling Thea so much that she took a step backward.

"Ta-da! Are you happy to see my charming face?" Charlotte asked, placing a hand on her own cheek.

"Are you insane?! You just gave me a heart attack!" Thea stammered, still trying to catch her breath.

"This is the only thing we enjoy together," Charlotte teased her. "Otherwise, you’re always getting angry and annoyed, and I’m left to enjoy it all by myself."

"It’s good to scare you like this sometimes." Charlotte replied with a grin. She handed her a packet. "Grandma asked me to give these to your grandma."
