Chapter 2599: Chapter 1128: Deadly Game · Commitment (IV) - The Path to Survival_2

"If you’ve had enough fun, put away your pet and let’s get moving."

Grabbing Mei Fu’s wrist again, Motan followed the two guards he gestured to lead the way, heading into the deeper layers. Several seconds later, he added, "If there are any... familiar faces here, you can point them out, but don’t waste any more time."

"Hmm..."

Mei Fu, suddenly meek, stopped her hysterical behavior and quietly put away the two menacing Cannibal Flowers, obediently following Motan, murmuring softly, "Thank you."

"The honor of helping a beautiful lady solve difficulties is mine..."

Motan chuckled, then changed his tone: "Though I’d like to say that, I’d prefer if you expressed your gratitude through action."

Mei Fu said nothing more, just nodded obediently.

A minute later, Motan found the Orc from earlier, who like the others, had lost consciousness, in an awkward pose on the ground.

"Hmm, very thoughtful."

Motan crouched down, turned the Orc over, noticing an empty bottle of [Emerald Dream Potion] in his hand and laughed softly, "Quite a diligent fellow."

He then took out a spherical, dark pearl emanating a foul odor from the inner layer of his belt, and waved it in front of the Orc’s nose.

Soon, the Orc slowly regained consciousness, his body jolting as he sprang up from the ground, and immediately relaxed upon seeing Haru Kuttata in front of him, grinning: "Brother Haru."

"You’ve worked hard, let’s go."

Motan patted his shoulder and continued inward. Since the path was one-way, even Motan wouldn’t casually backtrack.

In the following five minutes, the group of five moved quickly, with Mei Fu pointing out roughly seven or eight ’familiar faces,’ all of whom Motan swiftly broke their necks.

Finally, they arrived at the end of the corridor, in front of a dark and heavy iron door.

The Orc glanced at Motan, and after Motan nodded slightly, he pulled a string of keys from his coat, quickly removing several keys before pressing the entire keyring against the door.

Immediately, accompanied by a low humming sound, the ’door’ before the group sank directly into the ground, revealing the narrow space behind it, barely three cubic meters.

At the center was a table filled with exquisite food, and a pot of fragrant [ArchFire Intense] was nearby.

Cross-legged behind the table sat a man with dark blue skin, his race unidentifiable, bald with marbled defined features, his naked upper body covered with countless scars, wrists and ankles chained by metal shackles with Magic Patterns that, while not hindering his eating, ensured he couldn’t move freely in the tight space.

[Ace of the gladiatorial arena, only a [Fourteen] numbered Sea Tribe... doesn’t seem that strong.]

Motan squinted slightly, pulling a thread of thought even he didn’t believe.

"Perfect timing, Mr. Kudon."

The man constrained behind the table smiled, his soft, magnetic voice murmuring as he nodded at the slightly stiff-faced Orc: "I think this will be a good beginning."

Kudon pursed his lips, entered the ’room’ holding several keys he’d just removed: "I’ll undo the chains for you now, [Fourteen] Sir."

"Oh, chains... right, if you hadn’t mentioned it, I’d have forgotten there were chains here."

[Fourteen], with no pupils and eyes purely white, raised his eyebrow, then lifted his right hand, gently waving it at Kudon: "No need to trouble yourself, I can handle these old fellows myself."

With that said, his not particularly strong wrist suddenly swelled several times over, with a loud bang shattering the Magic Pattern chains on his wrist, returning to normal in the next moment.

Motan focused, observing that the dark blue glowing skin remained unscathed.

[Hmm, very strong... exceptionally strong... unbelievably strong...]

In that instant, feeling a huge pressure, Motan’s forehead slightly sweating, he pursed his lips, his expression becoming serious.

Standing behind him, Mei Fu biting her nails staggered, almost leaning against Motan’s back.

"Speaking of which, we haven’t met outside of the preparation room before, have we, Mr. Haru, Lady Mei Fu."

[Fourteen] shifted his gaze to the two of them, giving a smile that, ignoring his bizarre eyes, appeared particularly kind, speaking softly: "Allow me to thank you here. Without Mr. Haru’s antidote, even I couldn’t act easily, and of course, Lady Mei Fu’s Divine Arts, notifying every companion under constant surveillance for the past half-year, that’s your feat."

As he spoke, he leisurely moved his limbs, similarly shattering the shackles on his left hand and ankles, downing the bottle of [ArchFire Intense] Motan had drunk before in the Violet Empire and with Duke Baloka during a barbecue, slowly stepping out of the confined space.

"Honestly, they’ve treated me well."

[Fourteen], solid build but not tall, shrugged, laughing with Motan: "Neither the current leader nor the one you used to serve minded fulfilling my not excessive requests. Alas... I finally grew weary of such days."

He pointed to his shoulder where a faintly visible brand, [Fourteen], was marked, sighing thoughtfully.

Neither Motan, Mei Fu, nor the Orc Kudon spoke, merely quietly watching this person perform.

"My constitution is somewhat unique, so preserving this mark is challenging. Initially, it was my ’masters’ who desperately kept it, now it’s my effort to preserve it, haha, haven’t had a proper conversation for too long, hope you all don’t mind."

[Fourteen] grinned, seemingly indifferent to a bit of delay, leisurely speaking: "I’ve read some books but still don’t grasp the meaning of ’dignity’. This mark on my shoulder, I consider it part of my life, a very important part, unlike many stories where they wish to erase it."

"Admirable."

Motan nodded, casually praising.

"Yes, admirable, though I don’t see what’s worthy of admiration."

[Fourteen] shrugged, walked slowly past them, stating calmly: "Despite not understanding ’dignity,’ I at least comprehend ’freedom’."

Motan continued flattering: "I concur, [Fourteen] Sir."

"Ha, seems your years as a gladiator have worn down your edges, Mr. Haru. I still remember when you were sent to [Bloody Girl], then you were far sharper than now."

[Fourteen] jibed at Motan, walking without looking back, speaking further: "As for Lady Mei Fu, honestly, I empathize with your plight, but that was your choice, so I can only empathize with your plight."

Motan glanced at Mei Fu, noticing her shivering as if set to vibrate.

"Yet today, everything will change."

[Fourteen] grinned, his empty eyes glowing eerily—

"Let us discard the past, [Bloody Girl] will fall today, replaced by the newly born—[Torture]! "
