Chapter 2237: Chapter 1052: Pursue Him! (Part 2)
Of course, this was just nonsense, considering it was Ya Ya who directly benefited from Femigel at the time. Although Motan did listen to Fei Mi’s lectures, as someone with bloodline power as weak as other half-dragon people, he could hardly use magic like Dragon Language Magic and couldn’t learn it either.
However, the Old Mage wasn’t like Motan; he didn’t have the bothersome talent of "Knight Spirit - Honesty," so he wouldn’t be struck by divine retribution for bragging nonsense. Therefore, he talked about Motan’s [Inverse Scale Change] in a way that would be more readily accepted by Gavinrad and others.
Jadka wouldn’t publicly talk about the ’Otherworlders’ setting without Motan’s permission, even if the other party shared the same bloodline as his family.
"Honestly, I was thinking about helping that Silent Brother who gets along very well with Grand Uncle, but now it seems the ones being helped are obviously us."
Gavinrad smacked his lips and then firmly patted Motan on the shoulder: "So, if the Holy Spear Knight Academy really does what we think and prepares a top-notch expert, the individual match will be in your hands, Silent Brother."
"I’ll do my best."
Motan nodded and replied earnestly.
"So, what’s the plan for the team match?"
Jadka furrowed his brow and asked Gavinrad: "Didn’t you think we should win both the individual and team match titles? If we’re having Mor handle the individual match, what’s our strategy for winning the team match?"
Gavinrad chuckled and shook his head: "There is no plan."
Jadka blinked: "No plan?"
"If I were to say there is a plan, it’s just that I don’t believe the fine young lads and lasses of the Diesel family would lose in a group battle."
Gavinrad took a deep breath and proudly said, "So simply fighting steadily is, in my view, the optimal solution. Frankly, I was counting on the team match while letting Silent Brother bear the burden of winning the individual match, which was just an insurance."
Jadka raised his eyebrow: "Confident indeed."
"Certainly, because our Diesel family has held the championship title in the team district of the combat tournament for over twenty consecutive titles."
Gavinrad rubbed his nose vigorously and showed a slightly aggressive smile: "And our own families know their own affairs; no matter how thoroughly the Holy Spear Knight Academy investigates, they definitely wouldn’t guess that in past tournaments, none of us ’Quasi-Diesel Iron Riders’ ever displayed our true power!"
Though Diesel Iron Riders are less than a hundred, those beyond hundred are unbeatable.
Motan had heard this saying too, although he thought it was likely exaggerated, seeing Gavinrad’s overconfident demeanor made him believe it might not be exaggerated all that much.
"The team match has a limit of fifty participants."
Jadka looked around the training field where the young knights had spontaneously started doing exercises (like squats, frog jumps, push-ups) and casually asked, "Is it enough to form a battle array?"
Gavinrad smiled pleasantly and said lightly: "While something too complex surely won’t work, a basic battle array should be fine."
Being a Diesel family member himself, Jadka seemed relieved after receiving Gavinrad’s affirmative answer; he nodded and said, "Looks like you all have trained in advance, yes, if it’s just for the exchange meet, a basic battle array should suffice."
"Haha, although that’s said, I actually came up with a new idea."
Gavinrad slightly curled his lips and laughed, saying, "I want Silent Brother to also join the team match and become the ’spearhead’ of our Diesel Iron Riders’ battle array."
"Huh?"
Motan, who had just agreed to strive for victory in the individual match, was momentarily dumbfounded.
"The original ’spearhead’ was little Liya; in our training, we always had her as the strongest, sharpest point of the entire array."
Gavinrad threw Liya Delin a meaningful look, then benevolently told Motan: "But since Silent Brother, you’re stronger than little Liya, let you be the ’spearhead.’ I just watched your combat style and found you even more meticulous than Liya, this girl. With you in that position, the array’s power could increase by at least twenty percent."
"Ah...this..."
Determined to only join the individual match, Motan immediately hesitated. Take ’Hei Fan’s judge role, during the individual match slacking is one thing, but if even in the team match, ’Hei Fan’ just dozed off, it would seem less appropriate.
"Please, Silent Brother, if this bet is lost, it’s not just about the Holy Spear Knight Academy becoming arrogant; even I would have to stay here to help them mistreat students."
Gavinrad Diesel temporarily dropped his usual domineering aura mention Diesel Iron Riders and sincerely grabbed Motan’s hand: "With you, our chances of victory will be greater!"
"Well... okay, if it’s absolutely necessary... I..."
Motan sighed deeply in his heart and eventually agreed to this overwhelmingly burdensome task.
The current character he had was such that when faced with ’his own difficulties’ and ’others’ difficulties’ simultaneously, Motan usually wrestled a bit but prioritized solving the latter, even if solving it would frustrate him.
"Haha, that’s settled then; Silent Brother, you will join both the individual match and the team match! I’ll sign you up later!"
Gavinrad guffawed, then his expression suddenly changed, pondering: "However, speaking of it, even though it’s just a basic battle array, and your understanding is undoubtedly good, but after all, it’s a matter of cooperation, with the ’spearhead’ responsibility being weighty... tut tut, difficult!"
Motan hearing this quickly said: "If absolutely necessary, I better not mess up..."
"No, got it!"
Suddenly Gavinrad clapped his hands energetically, unexpectedly shoving the nearby white elf female knight forward two steps, loudly saying: "Since we’re planning for you to replace Liya’s position, let her teach you openly for a while. This lass has been practicing as the ’spearhead’ for over two months, should be no problema spending a few working days to teach it to you."
"Ah but..."
"Mmhm, I know you haven’t planned to move in here, no matter, just stop by for a few hours three, four days before the start of a [team match] daily."
"But..."
"And concerning helping the master in Craftsman Town, you don’t need to worry, tomorrow morning I’ll send two fine young lads over there; all physical work will be handled by them. Though they aren’t ambitious young people, they certainly can handle simple tasks."
"I..."
"I’ll even personally give you guidance; haha, although obviously not as powerful as Brother Darian but perhaps provide you a hint~"
Gavinrad Diesel quickly blocked all of Motan’s arguments, revealing a light-hearted and bright smile.
However, he couldn’t hide his fox tail any longer.
[This seemingly serious uncle, apparently wants the elf girl to hang out with Mor more!]
Ya Ya, hugging Motan’s arm tightly, scrunched her nose while silently showing her teeth at Gavinrad.
Even Jadka, similarly aware, also glared hard at this guy.
Motan, however, was unable as he touched his nose with a bitter smile.
Then, burdened with tremendous pressure, he chose to ignore his grand uncle’s glaring, and Gavinrad again gathered sound in a beam, for the third time sent a private chat to Liya Delin—
"Flirt with him! Can’t let such a good lad slip away!"
