Chapter 2187: Chapter 1028: The Source of Hostility

"I’m contemplating whether to just kill you."

The young, blonde, handsome guy, Tifero, stared intensely at Motan, his clear light golden eyes reflecting a chilling aura that was suffocating, calmly voicing his bold idea.

Motan also calmly nodded, "Oh, and then?"

"Perhaps you don’t truly understand the nature of the power within you, young man."

Ruka Tifilo narrowed his eyes, gazing at this young man in front of him whose eyes were overflowing with a dark aura, and softly said, "But I can feel it; it’s absolutely not something safe and controllable. Truly, right now you cannot harm me in the slightest through it, but if one day you fully master this power, or more likely... are completely devoured by it, it will become a whole different matter."

Motan chuckled dryly twice, repeating his previous words: "Oh, and then?"

"I don’t consider myself a good person, nor have I ever aimed to be a savior, but I still cherish this world full of contradictions, struggles, and helplessness. The ’God loves people’ in the Holy Scripture is just fancy talk, and I am merely a trivial member among the Goddess’s believers, naturally without such ideological awakening."

Tifero, somewhat troubled, pinched his brow and lightly exhaled, "But even so, I still don’t wish to remain indifferent in the face of an existence that might bring a great calamity in the future. Although I think you are a good child and the Goddess shares the same view, from another perspective, you Otherworlders have a particularly indifferent attitude towards this world. Simply put... too uncontrollable."

This time Motan didn’t continue with ’Oh, and then?’, but instead sourly puckered his lips, shaking his head, "I think you might be giving me too much credit. Frankly, in our world, there’s a special list for us Otherworlders, and among the strongest ones, they barely reach Epic levels. As for me, I’m afraid I don’t even reach within ten thousand... hmm, thanks to you guiding me on the Path of Discipline, perhaps not even within a hundred thousand. Is it really necessary for you to take me so seriously?"

"Did I say you are very strong?"

Tifero shook his index finger, solemnly saying, "What I fear is the power you can unleash. You might not even know what exactly it is, but I can clearly tell you, young man, that power entrenched in your soul is of a tier not even inferior to ’Divine Power’."

Motan furrowed his brows, curiously asking, "What’s Divine Power?"

"It’s literal, Divine Power, the power used by gods."

Tifero didn’t show any sign of impatience, instead, he patiently explained to Motan, "It is the most fundamental power of this world, one of the most primitive, diverse, and closely aligned to fundamental laws. For illustration, we can regard it as Level 1 power, while we clergy leverage this Divine Power through Faith and Magic Power. After going through a kind of intermediary that both protects and limits, it shifts into a secondary tier of power, whether it’s Decree, Holy Word or other Divine Arts, they all count as second-tier power, akin to the elements controlled by mages, the Evil Power utilized by magicians, or the Fighting Spirit invoked by warriors."

[I feel like I’ve heard this somewhere before...]

Confusion flashed in Motan’s eyes, and then he continued listening to this big shot adding more ’useless knowledge’ to him.

Of course, this knowledge naturally isn’t truly useless, although it indeed holds little meaning for the current Motan. He has already vaguely sensed what that ’power entrenched in your soul’ truly is.

Despite wanting to escape, ignore, or act as if it never existed, Motan, who experienced a ’Fragment’ on the first day of entering The Realm of Innocence and has since been eternally shrouded in the fear of those memories, knows well it’s a reality he cannot but confront.

In truth, he has already taken action after arriving at Academy City.

"I’m glad you’re catching onto my rhythm, young man."

Noticing that Motan didn’t look blankly confused or stare blankly, but instead showed a thoughtful expression, Tifero immediately revealed a smile of approval and softly said, "Then, let’s perhaps speed up a bit, for instance, I’d like to hear your understanding of our world’s power system."

Motan rolled his eyes briefly, concisely responding, "I don’t know."

"Mm, I also reckon you don’t know."

Tifero slightly nodded, continuing to ask, "Then, about the hierarchical classification of strength, you should be quite familiar with it, right?"

Motan didn’t play dumb and replied straightforwardly, "Low Rank, Middle Rank, Advanced Stage, Epic, Legendary, something like that, right?"

"Yes, to the vast majority, that’s correct, Low Rank, Middle Rank, Advanced Stage, Epic, Legendary, five tiers in total."

Tifero raised his left hand, accompanying his narration with slowly erecting five fingers, then after a brief pause raised his right hand, lightly waving his index finger, "But in truth, the Legendary tier isn’t actually the end; although history has witnessed very few surpass the peak of Legendary Rank, there indeed exists another tier almost unknown after it."
