Chapter 323: To São Paulo
"Arghhhhh!" Fatih growled as he threw a spanner against the wall before he dropped to the ground, lying like a star while looking at the ceiling of the garage.
"The season is over, so why are you still making me rebuild the car, man?" he complained as he looked at the car, which now had only a monocoque and the front suspension attached. The engine, gearbox, and rear suspension were all still lying around, waiting for him to assemble them.
"You should thank me that I didn’t make you bond the carbon fiber, but you are here complaining about assembling things?" Apollo, who stood to the side of Fatih, casting a massive shadow over him, asked as he looked at the remaining five minutes on Fatih’s simulation time.
"But shouldn’t I have some rest or increase the weight of the driving part of things?" Fatih said as he moved to lie on his side.
"Are you at the level of imagining an entire car’s operation in your mind?" Apollo asked, his neck elongating to get closer to Fatih while he remained in his full standing stance.
"What has that got to do with this, man? You are working on an injured person; this is abuse."
"The more you disassemble and assemble the car, the more you will know about it, and the more you know, the more realistically you can imagine it."
"You know I remember every single nut and bolt, right?"
"Yes, but doing is better than imagining."
"This is going to get more intensive when you get the F1 car," Apollo said as a matter of fact.
"You are going to make me not register the car when I go to the Grand Prix if this is what I will be doing for the next three years or more," Fatih jokingly complained. Red Bull’s side had already reached out to coordinate keeping their side of the promise, which was the car and the tickets, along with the junior driver experience, all set to take place during the Brazilian Grand Prix on the eleventh of November.
"Don’t worry, since it is three years to go, I will take things slow. How about that?" Apollo played along with Fatih’s complaint.
"But I can’t say I don’t want to see an F1 engine and dissect and understand it. I only went as far as watching videos talking about their capabilities and the tricks each team pulled to get as much power from the engines as possible.
So, I’m very much looking forward to it," Fatih said, knowing fully that he was going to be deleting the F4 car and his shifter kart from the system to register two F1 cars and spend his time until he reached F1 getting used to them, pushing them to the limit while also understanding how each of the two cars arrived at the same conclusion through different approaches.
"I look forward to seeing the incident between Verstappen and Ocon live," Apollo said, as he knew from Fatih’s memory that if things remained as they were in that race, Ocon was going to cost Verstappen a race win against Hamilton and nearly end up in a fight with him.
"Ah, yeah, and there is that, hahahaha," Fatih laughed as he remembered how it was going to be portrayed in the *Drive to Survive* docuseries.
"Now go to sleep," Apollo said before a few seconds later, Fatih was logged out of the simulation back into his deep sleep, dreaming about when Helmut was going to have Team Arden deliver him his F4 car as promised.
........
With the F4 series over, he now found himself returning to his monotonous routine: wake up, go to school, return, go to the karting track they now owned to coach Seraphina, go back home, rest, eat, wash, sleep, go into the simulation, train, and assemble the F4 car before returning to deep sleep.
Surprisingly, the Strategic Planning Department delivered the blueprint within just three weeks with all the possible options they had, including plans adjusted for different timelines. The shorter the timeline, the bigger the budget became. They also included recommendations, like allowing working from home, and what improvements each option would provide.
The first idea was accepted by his mother easily, as the budget was expected to be at a maximum of 8 million dollars a year. The second company, on the other hand, was a little difficult to convince her to go through with, as the first year’s budget alone was expected to be around 78 million dollars with full, aggressive employment and operation, which wasn’t working in his favor.
Thankfully, the blueprint made it clear that if they were fully funded and could reach full deployment, the value of the company was going to provide multiple returns over the amount they would be spending.
So, after Fatih begged her to at least give it a try, as he knew that they only needed to survive the 2019 season, and after that, he would be able to spend up to a billion dollars on the company without batting an eye, but he couldn’t really tell her that, so, he just pleaded with her to reduce the chances of her denying it.
Thankfully, she agreed under a few conditions, which he immediately agreed to, as he knew he was not going to have to meet them anyway. At the end, she finally agreed to sign the document and approve them to apply for loans for both companies in their most expensive and fast-acting options on the blueprint with the best projected results.
What followed was a rapid mobilization of their assets as they started bringing the blueprint to life. They aggressively recruited talent, and with the online working option being permitted, it gave them a mountain of options, as engineers from Samsung, TSMC, Intel, NVIDIA, AMD, Apple, Google, and more were all within the ranges they could hire without worrying about how to coordinate the logistics of moving all of them to a single city to be in a physical office.
He was fully enjoying the ability to delegate things to professionals, and he was also impressed by what the blueprint had taken into consideration that he hadn’t even thought about, even expanding further on his plan than he had ever considered. While they were in the middle of bringing the blueprint to reality, he, Burak, Rümeysa, Güldane, Alex, Seraphina, Brunhilde, and three more people boarded a Bombardier Global 7500 private jet, heading to Brazil two hours after he and Seraphina left school on Friday for the Brazilian GP.
