Chapter 1195: Chapter 1209: Fainted?
An Ran slowly awoke, and the first thing she saw was Zheng Kai’s anxious face.
"What happened to me?" She looked around and confirmed she was in the school’s infirmary.
"An Ran, you’re awake?" Zheng Kai breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing An Ran regain consciousness. "You scared me to death just now; we were talking and you suddenly passed out."
"I... passed out?"
An Ran pointed to her own nose, still in disbelief, but it seemed to be true. She had felt things go black before losing consciousness. A medical student fainting in an anatomy class is... incredibly embarrassing, right?
"Yes, the doctor said you have low blood pressure and low blood sugar. But fortunately, there’s nothing else wrong. You just need to increase your nutrition intake normally."
Zheng Kai observed her small frame; he had carried her over just now, and despite her tall appearance, she was indeed much lighter than he’d expected.
"Oh, I got it, thank you, Zheng Kai. What time is it now?" An Ran glanced outside the window. Class couldn’t have ended yet; if it had, Xiao Xiao definitely would have come looking for her.
"Class is almost over. Even if we went now, we wouldn’t be able to make it. We might as well go straight to the cafeteria and eat." Zheng Kai checked his watch as he spoke.
An Ran: "..."
If she could eat at this time, her heart would be exceedingly untroubled.
"I don’t feel like eating lunch today. You go ahead. I want to go back to the dormitory for a bit."
As An Ran spoke, she was ready to get off the bed, but Zheng Kai stopped her. "How can that be? The doctor said you need more nutrition, and yet you’re skipping meals. Are you trying to lose weight? An Ran, I think you’re not fat at all; there’s no need for dieting."
"Zheng Kai, I’m not dieting. It’s just that today’s class really sapped my appetite," An Ran patiently explained.
At this moment, the infirmary door opened, and Xiao Xiao and Lu Yi walked in.
"Ranran, what’s going on?" Xiao Xiao hurried over, looked An Ran up and down, and felt relieved seeing her in good spirits.
Looking at the man beside her, she leaned over and whispered, "You’re not pregnant, are you?"
As she spoke, her eyes kept glancing at An Ran’s belly.
"What nonsense are you talking?" An Ran gave her a push. "It’s just some low blood pressure and low blood sugar, plus I was probably too tense just now, so I fainted."
"As long as it’s just low blood pressure and low blood sugar, you can easily remedy it by eating more nourishing food," Lu Yi, who had been watching An Ran closely since he entered, said. From the look on her face, she seemed alright now.
For a thin girl like An Ran, it’s normal to have low blood pressure and low blood sugar; fainting likely stemmed from being too nervous.
"See, An Ran, even our class monitor says so. You still don’t want to eat?" Zheng Kai chimed in.
An Ran nodded, "I want to, but with this smell on me, I just can’t eat."
Xiao Xiao nodded in agreement, lifted her arm to sniff her sleeve, and wrinkled her nose, "I’m also skipping lunch today. No way, I’m going back to the dorm to shower and change clothes. If this keeps up, I’ll faint too."
"You guys..."
Zheng Kai wanted to say something but was stopped by Lu Yi. "Alright, they just came from the dissection room; it’s normal not to want to eat. Let’s go; we’ll have lunch."
He said, then proceeded to pull them away without further argument.
For some reason, even though he knew An Ran was already married, seeing how attentive Zheng Kai was to her still made him feel uneasy.
