Chapter 140: The Serpent & His Kitten [2]

God, he was so massive that he blocked most of the water cascading from the shower head.

A sigh fled from my lips as his hands ran through every inch of me, letting the soap rinse off, and then he dropped to one knee.

"W-What are you doing?" I asked shakily.

"Washing you."

I groaned when he raised one of my legs over his shoulder. Hissing, when he ran his hand there, the back of my head pressing against the wall as I squeezed my eyes shut.

He was gentle, and half the time I barely felt him. But it was the throbbing aches that got me.

I moaned when he pressed kisses along my thigh, and I slipped my hand into his hair, fingers intertwining with the wet strands.

"Zade, I told you blue..." I said softly.

"This doesn’t count. I’m washing you up."

"But..." The rest of my words died in my throat as I felt his mouth directly on my pussy.

My moans rang around the space, drowning out the running shower.

"Oh!" I gasped, digging my fingers more into his hair.

Zade released my leg and pushed to his feet. My neck tilted until it hurt from trying to maintain eye contact.

Zade cupped my cheeks, and leaned down to kiss me on the lips. It was slow and somewhat passionate. The kind where we took our time exploring each other’s mouths nonstop.

As much as I wanted to keep this going, my legs were starting to feel heavy. As though he sensed it, Zade picked me up, and I instinctively wrapped my legs around his waist.

If Zade’s cock doesn’t destroy my pussy, then all this will.

Out of the corner of my eye, I caught him reaching for the shower niche.

"Let me." I stopped him.

Zade paused before pinning his eyes on me in a questionable look. "Let you what?"

"Let me wash your hair."

For a moment there, I saw a look of surprise in his eyes, but as quickly as it came, it was gone.

"What?" I asked, suddenly worried if I had done something to kill the mood.

He doesn’t say anything, reaching for the shampoo and dispensing some of the liquid into my palm.

Nervous, I ran the liquid through his hair, and he just watched me with intensity.

My heart was pounding in my chest as I traced my hand through his hair.

If he kept looking at me like that, then I’m gonna do something as stupid as yanking his hair off the roots.

"P-Put me down."

He did, and my feet found the wet floor. I was slow as I reached for the shower niche.

I took the body wash that didn’t look like mine because obviously it was his.

Dispensing most of it into my palm, I took a moment to increase the water pressure so that the spray reached us from every angle.

I ran the body wash across his chest, my breath shaky when I caught a glimpse of the faint nail marks.

This was my handiwork.

It was difficult to even think of it that way because it looked like a cat had scratched all over him in fury.

"Why are you so quiet?" I asked, still lingering on that particular spot, because I wanted to feel him as much as I wanted. "Cat got your tongue."

"I’m observing."

"Observing what?"

"Nothing."

We locked eyes, that intensity still swirling, and then it hit me.

"H-Has no one ever...." I pressed my lips close, debating if I should ask because I didn’t know if I’d like the answer.

I mean, this was the Serpent. Zayden Salvero, the CEO of Monarch Group and the ruthless Don of the city. I bet he has had tons of women or something.

But screw this. I’m gonna ask anyway.

"Has no one ever washed you?"

"No."

My hand froze midway diving lower.

"Don’t you believe me?" he asked.

I opened my mouth to speak, but he beat me to it.

"I’m usually the one doing the washing."

He was talking about his brothers. Not exactly the image I want in my head right now, but I got his point. He did practically raise them.

However, something was made clear right at this moment.

"Has no one ever taken care of you?" I asked softly.

He was quiet for a moment before answering. "Not that I remember."

A shallow feeling pooled on my chest, and my expression softened.

"Ever?"

"It never crossed my mind."

"What do you mean?"

He narrowed his gaze. "I was too busy taking care of everything else to think about whether anyone was taking care of me."

He turned off the shower and stepped out of the stall, grabbing a towel to wrap around his waist.

He held one open, his arms spread wide. "Come here."

I walked closer without a second thought, and he wrapped the soft towel around me.

I was suddenly thinking about this man in front of me. I couldn’t even begin to imagine how it felt to weigh so much and handle many things without having the time to even consider yourself.

I saw the expression on his face when he replied to my question. He had to think. I’m not sure he even remembers what it felt like to be cared for.

I’d heard so much about the bigger shoes he had to fill. How he grew up too fast and never had the chance of a childhood, but I’d never truly considered what that must have been like for him.

To neglect yourself for the sake of everyone else.

I’d always imagined Zade as some hard-shell man with gray morals. He was those things, but I was starting to see what was beneath, and trust me, it completely differs from what I saw on the surface.

"Don’t give me that look," he said, resting his hand beneath my chin.

"What look?"

"The one in your eyes. Don’t pity me, kitten. Save it for someone else."
