Chapter 173: Chapter 172: I’ll Give You the Rest of the Night
"What... what are you doing?"
Nia Mitchell’s eyes widened, fearfully watching him as he approached.
"What am I doing?" Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow. Why does she look like I’m the bad guy?
"I’m preparing to be naughtily playful, yet perfectly legal, with my wife. Any objections?"
With that, he lunged at her, pinning Nia Mitchell firmly underneath him.
"Oof, you’re so heavy!"
Nia Mitchell struggled to breathe under his weight. She tried to push him off, but it was all in vain.
How was she Rabina Mitchell at all? She was clearly a monkey, specifically the one trapped under a mountain.
Nia Mitchell had a pleading look on her face, her eyes watery.
"Uncle, I have to go to work. Could you let me go, please?"
Damn it! Such a despot and a fatuous ruler! Doesn’t he have a ton of things to do? Why is he still pinning me down to tease me?
"Alright," Maxwell Peary acquiesced without being obstinate, agreeing to her plea. But his body didn’t move for a long time.
It felt as though a flock of crows had flown cawing overhead; Nia Mitchell’s face was etched with lines of dismay.
"Uncle, you’re really heavy."
She put on a pitiful look. Maxwell Peary, as expected, fell for it and felt a pang of compassion.
"You have to attend a banquet tomorrow. I’ve ordered a cocktail dress for you. Could you try it on for me when you get home tonight?"
Maxwell Peary propped himself up slightly on his arms, reducing the weight pressing on her, fearing he would truly crush this little Rabina Mitchell.
He knew his own weight. Even though he hadn’t put all of it on her initially, he was still afraid she might get hurt.
Nia Mitchell nodded vigorously. At this moment, even if Maxwell Peary made a whole slew of outrageous demands, she would agree without a second thought! This is what it means to be fish on someone else’s chopping block—a perilous fate, a bleak future, and a rocky road ahead!
"So, don’t overwork yourself. Just do the bare minimum, understand?"
Nia Mitchell continued to nod. She was such a good girl.
Seeing her so compliant, Maxwell Peary couldn’t resist leaning down to kiss her soft lips.
Nia Mitchell slowly closed her eyes, savoring his kiss. It was so tender.
It was as if he were cherishing a priceless treasure; his adoring kiss left her somewhat disoriented, unsure of where or when she was.
After a long moment, Maxwell Peary reluctantly lifted his head, his gaze falling on her rosy cheeks.
"I’ll give you the rest tonight!"
BANG!
That one sentence completely floored Nia Mitchell. She instantly bristled, her little paws patting relentlessly against his chest.
"Alright, I won’t tease you anymore."
Maxwell Peary caught her flailing little paws with one hand and stroked her hair affectionately with the other.
"Time for work."
He took a deep breath to soothe the desire stirred by that kiss, then left the Waiting Room once again.
This time, Nia Mitchell didn’t dare to roll about any longer. She lay quietly on the large bed, pulling the blanket tightly over herself.
Once the flush faded from her face, she quickly got dressed and hurried into the bathroom.
Her lips were red and a little swollen. What should she do? Maybe she could say she ate super spicy food for lunch? Great idea!
After composing herself, she pressed her ear against the door of the Waiting Room.
It seemed quiet outside; no voices. That must mean no one was there. If not now, when would be a better time to slip away?
Nia Mitchell swiftly flung the door open, preparing to make a dash for it.
But...
She was met by two pairs of eyes.
One pair belonged to Maxwell Peary. His gaze was teasing yet laced with a hint of helplessness, as if he were already accustomed to her quirky antics.
The other pair belonged to Yancy Hastings. He was frowning slightly, his expression one of utter astonishment, completely taken aback.
