Chapter 1054: Chapter 1052: Staying in Sicily, Does It Make You Sad?
The morning light outside was a bit hazy as he gently opened the balcony door and stepped outside.
The first thing he saw was Shirley Grant standing next door.
Shirley didn’t expect Andrew Davidson to appear, and she was startled.
"Sorry, did I wake you up?"
During this period of interaction, Shirley had already let go of her initial strong wariness.
Andrew was a very lonely person, rarely confiding in others. As a member of the Mafia, he didn’t have any friends at all.
Although he kept her imprisoned here, she was actually quite free in this place.
Andrew treated her well too.
Later, she learned from a maid that this place was the safest in all of Sicily.
Being kept here was actually a form of protection.
"No, I was about to wake up anyway."
Andrew smiled slightly, looking up into the distance.
"Why drink wine?"
Last night, he returned a bit late, and when he came back around dawn, the butler told him Shirley had taken a few bottles of wine upstairs.
At first, he didn’t really care about it, thinking that drinking a few bottles of wine was normal and wouldn’t cause trouble.
However, after going upstairs and hearing the cries and wails from next door, he realized that he had been too naive.
He just kept listening to her making a fuss until she completely fell asleep, which was almost at dawn.
He didn’t expect her to wake up again so quickly.
"I wasn’t in a good mood."
Shirley spoke frankly but wasn’t willing to say what it was about.
"Is staying in Sicily really that upsetting?"
She was well provided for; he treated her well. Couldn’t she feel that?
Shirley smiled without answering the question, continuing to look into the distance.
But Andrew sensed it, her eyes were filled with longing.
"If I said it was very distressing, would you take me back?"
Andrew hesitated, not answering her question.
As expected.
Clearly, he never really planned to let her go so easily.
"I want you to be better."
Capital Town, A Country, wasn’t necessarily her destination.
"My life doesn’t need you to judge whether it’s good or bad."
After saying these words, she turned and left the balcony, returning to her room.
Seeing her so stubborn, he felt very uncomfortable inside.
Shirley threw herself onto the big bed and slowly closed her eyes.
If when she opened her eyes again, this had all been a lie, she would still make sure to treat herself well.
But...
All of this was real.
Capital Town—
The old Morgan Family residence.
Today, Gerry Peary was brought out of the Hospital, and everyone was prepared to celebrate his birthday properly.
However, all night, a smile never appeared on Gerry’s face.
"Gerry, it’s time to eat the cake."
Saying this, the butler pushed out a huge birthday cake, with "Gerry, Happy Birthday" written on it.
Gerry’s eyes were full of delight, but his face didn’t show it.
"What’s wrong?"
Even Alan Morgan noticed that something was off.
"The cake is so big."
Gerry remarked that he had never seen such a big cake before.
When he had birthdays before, his family couldn’t afford cakes.
But Shirley would make them herself, and they were particularly delicious.
"Yes, Gerry, are you happy?"
Mrs. Morgan looked at Gerry with a smile, the candlelight making his little face extraordinarily endearing.
"Grandma, could you ask the uncle who made the cake to add a few more words on it?"
Gerry’s words left the entire Morgan Family in a daze.
