Chapter 257: Honey, The Baby Seems To Be Moving
Christopher said, "James is with Miss White." Hearing it, Janice was choked. Christopher patted her on the back quickly, "Slow down." Janice felt better and asked, "You mean they are together at night?" Christopher didn’t think too much, and he just told her what James had said. "It’s normal for them to be together. They are both single anyway." Janice agreed.
"That’s true, but is James reliable?"
"Which aspect are you referring to?"
"Every aspect."
Christopher paused, "James is as reliable as Miss White." Janice disagreed, "That’s not necessarily true. Yvonne is a good girl, but I don’t know about your friend. Maybe he is a playboy." Christopher frowned and couldn’t help reaching out and scraping the bridge of her nose punitively. "Aren’t you underestimating your husband? Do you think I would be friends with that kind of misbehaving person? "I don’t know that," Janice said.
Christopher was a little helpless. He approached, half-bending and looking at her up closely. "Really? Would you like to know me better?" His tone was a bit ambiguous, and there was a different kind of warmth in his eyes. Janice only found his expression very familiar. "What are you doing?" Christopher didn’t speak and slowly squatted down beside her, reached out to hold her hand, and kissed it affectionately.
"Janice, I think we’ve not slept together e for a long time." Janice was startled, "Aren’t we sleeping together every night?" Christopher couldn’t help coughing, "I mean..." He said two words silently. Janice understood it in an instant, and her face instantly flushed. She had almost forgotten about this thing, and since his accident, they seemed to have never had it again.
"I asked the doctor, and he said it would be fine in three months," Christopher said, looking at her with fiery eyes. Janice was shy, but after meeting Christopher’s gaze, she nodded shyly. Seeing her consent, Christopher chuckled and grabbed her hand and kissed it again. "But you have to be gentle." She bit her lips and reminded him. Christopher said, "Don’t worry. I will be careful."
The lovemaking made both of them taste the long-lost taste of passion. When it was over, Christopher took her in his arms. His kiss fell on her forehead, eyebrows, cheeks, nose tip, lip corners as if he couldn’t get enough of her. "Honey," He called out in a low voice, and his voice was hoarse with unrelenting lust. Janice was surprised, "Honey, you haven’t called me like this for a long time. I’d love to hear you call me again."
She opened her big shiny eyes, full of expectation. "Do you like me calling you like this?" Christopher was a little surprised.
"Of course."
Janice nodded and said to herself: don’t you know how long you haven’t called me like this? Christopher paused, then he seemed to realize something, and he smiled
dotingly. "I’ll call you like this from now on, honey." His soft voice fell in her ear and slipped into her heart. Janice just felt soft when she was called. "Huh." She responded with a smile.
Christopher seemed to have found some fun, calling her "honey" while rubbing against her cheek. Janice was ticklish. She smiled and begged for mercy, "Enough, enough." "Not enough." He wanted to make up for everything he had missed during this period. "Honey, the baby seems to be moving," Janice said suddenly.
...
Hearing this, Christopher quickly stopped frolicking, "It’s moving?" He was surprised. Janice nodded and thought it was amazing. She held his hand and slowly placed it on her belly. "Do you feel it?" She asked. Christopher put his hand there, and it didn’t take long for him to feel a slight beating. "It’s moving." He was very excited.
Janice was ecstatic, "Honey, our baby is moving." Christopher looked at her happy face, and couldn’t help but smile. Early the next morning, he accompanied Janice to the hospital. "Doctor, I felt the baby move." In the consulting room, when the doctor asked, Christopher took the lead before Janice could answer.
It was rare to see such an excited father -to-be. The doctor smiled and said, "This is when the baby begins to move. You can count the number of fetal movements in the morning and the evening to estimate whether the baby is healthy." "Okay." Christopher agreed immediately. On the way back, he said to Janice, "Honey, leave it to me to count the fetal movements in the future." Janice didn’t think much, and guessed he was just saying nice things, and replied "Okay."
Unexpectedly, when she was still asleep the next morning, Christopher had gotten up and counted the fetal movements. At first, Janice thought it was a dream. She only felt that something fluffy was pressing on her belly, but when she opened her eyes, she saw Christopher. "What are you doing?" Janice was surprised. Christopher "hushed" her, "I’m counting the fetal movements." Janice didn’t dare to move because of his babbling. She just lay there quietly, waiting for him to finish counting.
"How many times?" Janice asked when he finally got up. Christopher said, "The baby moved a total of four times, right here." He pointed to the lower right side of her lower abdomen. Janice also stroked it in the direction he pointed, and only felt that the place was hard, "Do you think it is the baby’s little feet or little hands?" Janice asked curiously. Christopher thought about it, "It should be a small hand, not so intense." Hearing that, Janice nodded with awe for life. "Those four times are normal, right?" Janice asked.
"Of course, three to four times an hour is normal, and our baby is naturally healthy." Christopher said and kissed her belly before getting up, "There is still some time. You sleep a while, and I will cook breakfast for you." He got up and was about to leave. Janice said in surprise, "Isn’t there Nanny Daisy?" "I cook better than Nanny Daisy." He blinked and walked out.
Janice chuckled slightly. Since she was awake, she couldn’t fall asleep anymore. Thinking that the bay could move, she couldn’t help but send Yvonne a message with excitement and shared her joy. But Yvonne called her back just after she sent it for a short while. Janice picked it up. "Yvette, you are awake."
Yvonne frowned, "I’m on my way back to Tomaville now." Janice was startled and glanced at the time. It was only eight o’clock, "So early?" Yvonne nodded. "Did you just say that the baby had a fetal movement?" When mentioning this, Janice couldn’t help but smile, "Yes, Yvette, don’t you think life is amazing?"
...
Yvonne paused, and then said, "Of course, the process of gestating life in nature is almost miraculous. You are now in the middle of pregnancy, the fastest period of fetal development, and you will have different surprises every day." "Then when you come back, I will let you feel it." Hearing what Janice said, a bleak look flashed across Yvonne’s face, but she agreed. Janice asked her to drive slowly before she hung up the phone. Yvonne put away the phone, but her emotions were a little down.
James sat in the driver’s seat, and he glanced at Yvonne’s expression. He frowned, "What? You don’t like children?" He had just heard the conversation between the two of them. He didn’t know if it was his illusion. It seemed that when Janice talked about the child, her reaction became a little strange. Yvonne frowned and looked out the window, "No." Hearing her denial, James didn’t press on but drove the car with peace of mind. It didn’t take long for the phone to ring in the car.
It was Yvonne’s. She picked it up and glanced at it, but didn’t answer, just let the phone ring. James turned his eyes to look at her. "Why don’t you pick it up?" Yvonne paused, "It’s my father and I don’t want to pick it up." She turned her gaze out of the window. James only saw her face in profile. It was obvious that her mood was a little depressed, and he didn’t continue asking her questions wittily. It was just that the phone’s ringtone keeps ringing, and the caller seemed to have no intention of giving up.
Yvonne finally couldn’t stand it anymore and picked it up anxiously. "What’s up?" Her tone was a little impatient. Her father didn’t argue with her, but said gently, "Yvette, how are you thinking about what I told you before?" Yvonne, "I don’t need to think about it. I said it a long time ago. I don’t want blind date." "Yvette, I know you don’t like blind dates, but this time it is different. He is a rare young talent. Both his family background and appearance are very good. I’m doing it for your good. Listen to me and meet him. "
What Yvonne couldn’t stand most was her father’s catchphrase "I’m doing it for your good". She had never thought that the young talents with good family background, appearance, and character in her father’s eyes were really good. It was just in line with the core interests of the White family. Why did he make it sound so nice?
She frowned, "I told you, I don’t want to go on a blind date. Do you have to force me?" As soon as she said it, there came a female voice from the other end of the phone, "How could we force you? Yvette, you are in your early twenties. Some things should be known to you. Given the situation of the company, we urgently need a business marriage to save it. As the eldest daughter of the White family, it is your duty and obligation to do something for the family. I’m telling you, you must go." It was her father’s sister, the only woman who could enter the decision-making field in the White family.
Although Yvonne was not there, she seemed to have seen it. At this time, the whole family was gathering around and waiting for her to agree. A hint of irritation rose in her heart instantly. What duty or obligation? With hundreds of people in the family, they had to rely on a woman to maintain the company.
Were the male decision makers who had usually surpassed women useless? Yvonne had the urge to throw her phone out. But she finally restrained it.
