Chapter 46: Sungrades be damned
In a dark room well lit on all sides, some muffled voices echoed like a death scream passing through a narrow cave.
"Mmmm! Uhmmmm!"
The room was not dark yet there were several shadows here.
Looking closely, the lights all around this closed off room were set in a way that they produced a big shadow of the lamps adjacent to it.
There were also random bricks and rods coming out of these empty, white painted walls that created a net of shadows.
"UHMMMM!"
In this well lit room, chained by the walls, was a man covered in shallow yet numerous scars.
"Uhmmm uhm uhm uhm..."
The cut on the body of the man who started crying while biting down on the gag over his mouth, his shackled hands red, blood almost ready to gush out of them.
His eyes, red to their roots, his face, pale as the walls surrounding him, the countless cut marks made all around his body... his fingers that did not have the nails anymore, his feet that did not have their toes anymore, or the manhood that was carved off of his body right before his child.
None of the things that they did to him were as painful to the father as what was transpiring before his eyes right now.
"Arghhhhhhhhhh...!"
They were monsters.
"Muhhhhhh!"
Both the creatures that tore his daughter to pieces as well as the people watching them from the other side of the room with bright delight on their faces... both of them were monsters.
"Khhha~! Khhhhhha~!"
With a delighted look on their faces, the blue-red sealion beasts, the hounds of Serulians, tore the young girl’s hand, bit into her bones, chewed off her pretty face, spat out her nose and ears before her chained father, and delightfully enjoyed their feast.
"Fa– father...!"
The last words that the girl uttered were five minutes ago when she still had her mouth.
"Muhhhhhhh!" But those words, the utter look of horror in her eyes, as well as whatever was left of her body infuriated the man who had no strength left in his body.
"Muhhhhh...!"
Perhaps it was a miracle or perhaps a natural rage of a father, but, the chained man gathered enough strength in his body to break off these chains, pull off the gag on his mouth and take an enraged step towards the bitch who watched him with the same delight as her hounds.
"Oh, no no mister."
-Ooooooooooooong!
Ropes made of water appeared and restricted the man once again, covering his face and shutting his mouth once again without anything physical this time.
"Muhhhhh!"
Sadly, there was no escaping or avenging his late daughter.
"The show has not ended yet, dear knight."
The woman in ashen white hair and ocean blue eyes had the same delight on her face as the happy sealions who started clapping their blood-covered hands and playing like innocent babies.
They ran towards their ’mother’ and started demanding her love as if they had done something very good.
And the white woman surely did praise them.
"Silly things." She took out her handkerchief and wiped off the blood on their faces.
She even opened their mouths and cleaned the razor sharp teeth with the cloth, patting their heads for the good work they had done.
"Well, you don’t look hungry anymore." She was pretty, and so was the smile on her face.
"But that means you’re useless to me now." However, the looks are often deceiving.
-Swish.
She moved her hand in a single arch, and in the very next moment, a fountain of green blood sprang out of the creatures’ headless body.
-Thud. Thud.
The two sealion heads fell to the ground, shocking the man, the blood covered face of the White Woman freezing him in spot.
"What can a beast without hunger help me with, huh?" She looked over her shoulder, her blue eyes reflecting a young man with similar white hair that had purple ends, his eyes black, completely and lifelessly black.
"A beast without hunger is useless, mother. Indeed." He nodded to the white woman and took out a handkerchief of his own.
Then, he cleaned the green blood of the beast off her face and arms, shaking his head with mild fatigue.
"Do you pity him, Rainin LeSerulian? Do you pity this peasant knight who spoke up against us?"
She grabbed his face and pulled him closer. Then, looking deep into his dark, beautiful eyes, she bit onto his lips.
"Do you pity him, my sweet rainy child?" The utter madness in her eyes made the boy pause for a second, however, he knew the answer to her question.
"No... mother."
He shook his head, looking down towards her neck, taking in a deep breath that only tasted like the dead beasts’ blood.
"They are sinners." He clenched his fists when he said that, but it only made her delight grow larger.
She looked at him, their eyes only an inch away from the other.
She breathed him in, bit on her lips... and then released his face, looking back at the man that looked more terrified than ever before.
"Now then." She looked to her left and the grained door opened at her signal.
"H-huh?" A woman was then pushed inside by armoured hands, her face filled with utter terror.
"D-dear...?" Chained in front of him was her husband, a bloody mess unrecognizable even to a mother lay on the floor before him, and, covered in the green blood, wearing a white dress, her face full of delight was the White Woman... the demoness of the south, the second-in-command of the southern margravestate.
"Come now, sweet leady. Come play with some of our children." The door on the other side of the room was opened this time, and more sealions, drolling as if they were starved for an entire week.
"H-huh...?"
"Muhhhh! Muhhhhhhhhhhhhh...!"
The chained man started crying out once again, his water-cuffed hands now bloody red, the clear water binding him now red like his tears.
"Muhhhhhhh!"
"Arghhhhhhhh!"
The sealions did to her what the other ones had done to their daughter. And helpless, powerless, and now lost of everything he had, the anointed knight of the Sungrade house that came here with a warning from the Sungrade family, was dead of his spirit as well.
"You destroyed him."
"Huhuhu, right~? These starving little beasts are pretty fun~." She was delighted when she saw the dead eyes of the soulless knight.
He came here with a message and disrespected their family by saying they had hired a criminal to assassinate their young lords.
She was just getting rid of a nuisance of a bastard for them and now they were blaming her for scheming against their family.
"Fucking bastards."
She hated the very existence of that damned family.
"If only your ’father’ was anything like your father, dear Rainy, we’d have been done with those damned red-eyed bastards already."
She looked at the hungry beasts, ordered them to get rid of the dead mess of the so-called knight, and watched his death with an annoyed look in her eyes.
"And fuck that blue-haired bastard." She did not know much about him, but he had changed recently.
She received reports that he was far more than what they had heard about. Many reports said that he had been hiding his skills until now and some even claimed he never had the Energy Decay Syndrome to begin with.
If only he had died first, everything else would have worked out exactly like she wanted.
"That ’baseless’ manipulator was fake too."
She was utterly frustrated right now. She wasn’t satisfied with just killing the ones who brought this message and their families.
She wanted more. She needed more blood for the insults they threw at her.
"They wanted us to clarify ourselves so we should go meet them, right, Rainy?"
She didn’t even deny that she was the one behind the assassination. But what proof would they have even if she spoke it to her face?
"What can those lizards even do?" She spread her arms on her throne and crossed her legs, the aura of an absolute oozing off her.
"Sungrades be damned, mother." The well dressed young man spoke just the words she wanted to hear.
"Yes!"
It excited her.
Those words filled her with a new thrill.
"Sungrades be DAMNED!"
-Swish.
-Thud. Thud.
She killed the beasts that were done with the knight and bathed herself in their raining blood once again.
Melisandra Marajade Likeil ViPhion LeSerulian, the Mother of Blues, the only Level-6 enchantress who had mastered [Oneness] and was speculated to reach the level of an assimilator soon.
She was the Lady of Peace, the Lady of Serulian patriarch, the representative of the Phion kingdom, and a true-born Lady of high society.
She was the White Woman.
"Mhahahahah~!"
And she was going to greet the biggest enemies of their modest, peace-loving, righteous house.
