Chapter 442: Don’t touch me.

Leilani.

The kiss was intense. Exhilarating even.

And goddess, at that moment... in that very time, I forgot how to breathe or live.

The moment Zevran looped his arms around my back, pulling me closer to his overly heated skin, the air between us seemed to change— in a good way.

I stood frozen for a heartbeat, contemplating if this was really happening or not, my pulse fluttering wildly as his gaze settled on my face... and then came to settle on my lips, but neither of us spoke. Words suddenly felt unnecessary, choked by the tension that has been building for far too long.

My body tingled with sensations too crazy to put a name to, and when I felt Kael take a step forward, coming to bury his face into the crook of my neck from behind me, while Zevran toyed gently with my lips, my body went wild.

Then Caelum pushed closer, his deft finger tracing a hot line across my skin.

Then he added another.

—And another.

Until... the distance between us slowly disappeared, integrating into nothingness until all I could feel was the warmth radiating from their bodies and the heady sensations that rushed through me like a freaking broken dam. My breath caught in my throat when Zevran’s hand lifted, brushing a loose strand of hair behind my ear and lingering on my skin for a second too long.

His touch was feather-light, yet it sent a mighty shiver down my spine, making me quake violently, even deep into my core.

"Tell me to stop," he murmured quietly, his breath crushing against my face.

But I couldn’t. Goddess, I could hardly even find the words to say.

I would be lying if I said that this doesn’t feel good. That I do not want to see where this would lead us to... that I wasn’t curious.

So do you know what I did instead?

I let my eyes lift slowly until it drifted to his plump full lips, and there, it remained. I couldn’t help but admire how full they were... how slightly they parted when he noticed me watching, and how... goddess, how it called out to me, drawing me in like a moth to a flame.

And for him, that was all the invitation he needed.

He leaned in slowly, giving me every chance to pull away. When his lips finally met mine, the kiss was gentle at first—soft, tentative, almost reverent. It felt like he was asking for my permission. Like he was scared of pushing too close. Scared of touching me... of offending me...

And I responded by moving closer.

He then slammed his lips against mine with a force so intense it made my knees wobble, and as our tongues were entangled in a dance of tango, Kael pushed even closer, taking the skin of my lower neck into his mouth and suckling so hard, I immediately knew that that spot would be bruised soon.

Their heat made my body churn dangerously, especially as they took me in greedily; and as for Caelum... he seemed to be content with watching us. Content with watching me shiver like a leaf in the wind whenever his fingers skimmed against my burning flesh.

Zevran’s hand settled against my waist, drawing me nearer as our lips moved together in a slow, intoxicating rhythm.

And goddess, I could swear that at this point, the world around us seemed to fade into silence. There was only the warmth of their touch, the steady beat of his heart beneath my palm as my hand rested on his chest, and the impossible sweetness of finally having to taste what we have all denied ourselves for far too long.

I tilted my head slightly, deepening the kiss. A quiet sigh escaped my lips as Caelum’s thumb traced small circles against my side and Kael’s sucking intensified. Every touch seemed to spark something inside of me, making me acutely aware of how close they were.

Of how dangerously close to the edge we all were... and Hades, I also couldn’t help but fear that this may be wrong.

Scratch that. That this is wrong.

"Mhmnn... fuck it, Leilani." one of them— I don’t know who— grunted, snapping me out of whatever daze I had been in for so long.

My eyes snapped open quickly and it wasn’t until that moment that I realized how arched I was, leaving myself bare to their touches and how extremely close Kael’s lips were to my now hardened nipples.

The realization made my face burn with embarrassment and something else. Something that made my body thrum with residues of the intense pleasure that I could still feel running down my spine in waves.

"Leilani." This time, I knew it was Kael, and at the mention of my name, I felt a flip in my brain like it had just been snapped into sharp focus.

Whatever light had gone off was suddenly snapped back on, and in that moment, against my wish, something like guilt crept up my mind, intoxicating me, pulling me deep into the abyss.

My head lowered before I could even help myself and I noticed to my mortification that quiet tears were streaming down my face.

But why was I crying?

Why does it feel like I had just committed a very grave sin?

A tremor wracked my entire body when Kael made to touch me one more time, but at this point, I knew that I was absolutely snapped out of it.

That I suddenly do not want them to touch me anymore.

That for some reason, I couldn’t stop thinking about Jarek either.

My Jarek...

Whom I should still be mourning instead of making out with those three men who always manage to pull me panties into a twist.

"Are you okay... Leilani?" Caelum drawled but just as his fingers grazed against my skin, I flinched.

"Don’t touch me!"

He froze.

"Leilani..."

"I said, don’t touch me!" I yelled, my voice growing louder. Stronger.

"Is something the matter?" That was Zevran and I couldn’t help but notice the worry on his face and in his voice as he spoke; But ignoring all of that, I slapped his hands off my skin when he tried to touch me and hissed;

"Stay away!"

"Lan—" Kael began to say but I immediately beat him to it.

"Go away!" I barked, but upon remembering that that was a silly thing to say, especially since they have been here even before I joined them, I added; "Stay away from me."

However, those were the last words I could manage to get out of my mouth before my throat suddenly began to feel clogged. Tears burned at the corners of my eyes and I could not stop them as they tore through my lips.

My heart was inexplicably heavy, filled with so much pain and guilt that I could barely contain it. And casting one last glance at them, I turned around and literally ran away.
