The car drove and stopped under a building with a helipad on its roof. Darren stepped out of the car and opened the door for Kora. Kira looked at the building and cast a questioning look at him and he smiled without sayings a word.
An old man walked out of the door and approached them. "Welcome, Alpha, and Luna," He greeted and bowed. His eyes lingered a bit longer on Kora and the oversized shirt that she wore before averting them. "It is my honor to finally meet you, Suorme Luna," He said and bowed a second time to her.
"Is it ready?" Darren asked before Kora could reply to him. He pulled Kora to himself and glared at the older shifter because he took a second longer to look at his mate.
"It is Alpha." He said and Darren nodded.
"Where are we going?" Kora finally asked. She had tied nit ask and just trust him, but right now she was getting confused and curious about where they were going. The journey on the road lasted for hours and now they need a helicopter to get to their destination. Her curiosity was spiked and now she could no longer resist the urge to know.
"Can’t wait any longer?" He asked with a raised brow and a smirk on his face.
"Yes," she said with a straight face and he chuckled.
"You will know soon, we are almost there." He replied and brushed his fingers through her hair. "You love it."
She glared but then smiled at him. "Okay."
"Lead the way, Roger," Darren said to the older shifter who was busy staring at them as if he had never seen a lining couple before.
He took a second to register the command he was just given. He blinked and then bowed, "Of course, this way please," He said but have one last glance at the couple before walking ahead and leading them into the building. And the Mates tagged along closely behind him.
He was surprised to see how different Darren looked with his mate by his side compared to the last he had seen him. He had met Darren when he was younger and had recently become the supreme Alpha and even a few years after he became the alpha but he was not like how he was today. Today, he looked happy and carefree nothing besides the aura around him and his physical appearance proved that he was the Alpha Supreme that he had met years ago. Having must have changed him and made him livelier, he thought to himself.
He led them to an elevator that took them to the top floor and ten out on the roof where the chopper was waiting for them. And then opened the door for them. "Everything you will need has been prepared as you have ordered," Roger informed.
"Including the penthouse?" Darren asked as he helped Kora up. He climbed along with her and helped her fasten her seat belt.
"Yes, Alpha." He replied and Darren gave him a nod as he also fastened his seatbelt. "Have a safe trip, Luna." Roger wished with a smile that was returned with a growl from Farren and a half smile from Kora. But he didn’t mind and stepped away from them.
"Who is flying it?" Kora asked. A small frown formed on her face. There was no one else with and it was a no-brainer to know that they would-be flying but themselves since she could not, he was the only one left to do that but she didn’t think he could fly.
"I am, " He said with a grin. "Surprised?"
’Not really." She replied and looked ahead of them. "I just realize that I don’t know that much about you." She said and his smile froze.
"I am sorry." He saidbajdnahe turned to look at him and took his hand in hers. "Whatever you want to know, I will tell you."
"It’s fine, we still have a bit of time left, you can tell me when we get to where we are going." She rubbed the back of his palm and he nodded.
"Mhm, " He hummed.
They soon departed from there and headed for a place that she was still unaware of but she just kept silent and enjoyed the view from up in the sky. It was her first time flying but she looked like she had gotten used to being up in the sky for a long time. "It’s peaceful up here." She muttered and looked down at the trees and houses that now looked so small from above. "Everything seems peaceful," she said and tucked her hair behind her ear.
Although everything seemed and looked peaceful from where she was right now, she knew that was not the case. The problems down there may not be seen from above but she knew just was going on down there. People struggle to make ends meet, fight for territory and power, and many more. But it all felt nonexistent as she gazed down at the ground.
Even though her voice was inky a whisper, he could hear her amidst the wind and the sound of the fans as they spun. He looked at her side profile which looked so delicate and felt the urge to touch it. He touched her cheek and she turned took at him. "I like it up here." She said.
"I will try to make the ground feel as safe as it feels up here." He promised and caressed her cheek. The feeling of security was something everyone wanted. Everyone wanted to be safe wherever they were and she was no different. The only thing was that they were both shifters and their world was not the peaceful kind. There was always dangerurkingbin the shadows wautingbgr the right moment to strike.
As much as he wants to give her a peaceful life, where there would be no trouble and cozy at fighting and killing, they both know that was near impossible. But it was always a nice thought. Being wishful was one of the many things that make them humane. Hoping for a time of peace was something that all creatures shared in common. Humans and Nonhuman alike.
"I will do my best to ensure that is a reality someday," he said and leaves into his palm.
"I know," She said and held his wrist. "I will be there too."
They soon landed and were picked up by a group of shifters and taken to a penthouse. After their bags were taken inside, everyone else departed leaving just the two of them.
Kora walks around taking note of the scenery. It was beautiful. There was a man-made forest below as she started through the floor-to-ceiling glass window. She could hear the sound of chirping birds, even the sounds of the various animals within it. The trees were arranged in raws and stretched as far as her eyes could see.
"Do you like it?" Darren asked, coming from behind her and wrapping his hands around her waist as he enveloped her in an embrace and stared out the window as well.
"Mhm, thank you," she replied and tilted her head, turning to look at him. She kissed his chin and smiled. "It is beautiful."
"I am glad that you like it." He tickles her waist. "What do I get for doing good?" He asked.
"I just thanked you." She said and she shook his head.
He stared at her through their reflection in the window. His gaze turned from the playful one he had earlier into a heated one. "Why don’t we continue from where we left off?" He asked and began craving her arm leaving feature touches in his wake. "You wanted it before right?" He kissed her neck and she shivered feeling his cold breath on her neck. "Now I want it too." His hand slipped under her skirt and began caressing her stomach.
"Okay," she said and leaned into him.
"That’s my girl." He sucked on her neck and went to his hair, fisting on It. She bit on her lip when she bit lightly on her mark and he stopped. He released her lip from her teeth and brushed his thumb against it. "Don’t by yourself, instead let me do it." He said and made her turn her head towards him and he sealed her lips.
He sucked on her lower lip and the nightly bit on and she moaned, both to the pleasure and pain she felt from it. He ripped his tongue into her mouth and gkaynipened it for him granting him access to explore her mouth as he pleased. Soon their tongues began moving in sync with each other as they engaged in a passionate kiss.
The hand under her shirt roamed every inch of her body and finally stopped when he got hold of her nipple and squeezed it to earn another moan from her.
He spun her around and took the shirt off heaving bare once again. He took off his shirt and picked her up from the ground throwing her legs around him.
