Crysta looked at the side of his face with complicated emotions while he smiled brightly. Just what was the human up to? She asked in her mind momentarily forgetting about Cilla because she was no longer sure if she could trust the human with her now later on in the future after the war begins.
"Don’t you like the idea?" Jared asked her because she had been silent the whole time.
"You never spoke to me about this before," She said with a tone that portrayed her unhappiness at the fact. "Why did you?"
"I didn’t think you will have an issue with it." He replied in a casual tone. "It is obvious that at the rate at which the organization is growing, we would need help and who else is better than the government, who will lead us to the military power and ammunition that we will need?"
Crysta closed her eyes and breathed deeply, she had no more words for the human beside her but was she supposed to let him do whatever he wanted by telling her after everything she had done for him and his mission? "That was not our deal," She said and they stopped. He turned to look at and she kept his gaze. "We agreed to tell each other before making any major decision that will affect our plans and purpose." She said.
"This is not a bad effect, Crysta, this is the much-needed help we have been seeking for a long time," Jarred said, a small frown making its way to his face seeing the skeptical look she gave to him. "You are afraid aren’t you?"
"I am already in a lot of trouble helping you and now you have gone behind my back to fi something like this without informing me and breaking our deal, should jump for joy now?" Crysta asked witnessing her gaze from him.
"I am sorry," He said and took her hand again in his. "I thought it was a mutual understanding that we should whatevs it takes to achieve our dreams and ambitions and you wouldn’t have a thing against it."
Humans could be very dangerous too with their weapons and gadgets and their share number alone was terrifying. She could not go against them now, being one of the oldest witches alive, she has seen and watched the human race spread and evolve, unlike their kind that still did most things the way it used to, only adapting and changing what would expose them to the humans to keep their secrets. "Fine, as long as it is for the benefit of the mission, but next time...."
"I will let you know, Sweetheart," Jarred said showing his perfectly white teeth as he smiled.
Crysta looked at him for a moment before she nodded her head, "Okay, don’t forget it next time." She continued walking

At the Shadow Moon Pack,
Emily and Levi had just arrived and Emily went straight to see her friend while Levi went to give his report to his alpha. On her stay at the mansion with Kora, Emily learned of what happened to Mateo and Ezra from the gossipy maids in the mansion even before she could meet with Kora.
"Are they alright?" Emily asked with worry marred on her face. She did not know what else to say.
"I should have known that it would be Mateo would get hurt after I saw him the morning before he left," Kira said and Emily finally remembered what Kira had told her before she left that something bad was going to happen. "You didn’t know, Kora."
"I know," She replied. "How was your journey with Levi?" She asked changing the conversation. She felt bad that she did not warn Mateo and there was also no way for her to have warned Ezra. Talking about it would only make her feel worse even if she did not show many signs that conveyed her emotions.
"Tiring, exhausting, and annoying." Lily said with a dramatic expression, and sliding down the couch where she sat. "I just want to sleep and not think of anything right anymore."
"You have gone to explore the world like you wanted, so don’t complain." Kora teased although her face remained poker.
"That’s not the kind of exploration I was talking about," Emily said and sat back up on the couch. "I wanted the kind I will go with my mate, have fun and make memories, not work and seal with stubborn shifters."
A light was heard from Kora and Emily also laughed. It was rare for her to hear her friend laugh. "You are laughing at me, right?" Emily asked even though she was also laughing.
"Yes, I am." Kora replied and Emily pouted. "You are going to be in charge of the packs along with your mate and Mateo soon," She said and drink her juice.
while Emily frowned. "What about you and Alpha? I don’t want responsibilities." she whined
"You sound like a pup when you talk like that," Kora pointed out.
"Can you blame me? I am just returning after being away for while and I don’t even get to rest, another work has been thrown at me." She said and still pouting. "Where are you and Alpha going that, we are to look after the packs?" she asked becoming serious.
"I don’t know, he said its a surprise," Kora replied and Emily beamed. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Is Alpha taking for a honey moon? How long will you be gone? I am so happy for you." She was sitting beside Kora and holding her hand in her two and shaking it.
"You are going pull my hand off if you keep doing that." Kora said but she did not stop her it peel her hands off her.
"I am so jealous, and happy for you." Emily said and continued to shake her hand. "So when are you leaving? Today? Or tomorrow?"
"Did you just say you don’t anymore responsibilities? Then why are you so eager to know when we will be gone?" Kora asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Is it wrong to be happy for your best friend? Fine, don’t go. I pray to the Goddess to change Alpha’s mind so he won’t take you anywhere again."
"You are being childish again." Kora said and she nodded.
’I am still soemeone’s child."She said with pride, "I can be as childish as I want to be." And Kora was left speechless, wondering what was wrong with her friend. She had refused to grow more than this and wieredly Kora liked it.

Inside the Alpha’s office in the pack house, Darrrn was going a file that had been given to him by Levi while he sat across him. Mateo was also inside the office but he said nothing and even blocked the mindlink.
"Thank you and welcome back." Darren said and Levi nodded but his mind was occupied with his brother who sat unmoving an inactive the whole time. "Where is your mate?"
"She has gone to see Luna, Alpha." Levi replied taking his eyes off mateo for a second to look at the Allha so he doesn’t look disrespectful. "What happened to make?" He asked, dropping the professional tone he used before.
Darren sighed and drops the pen that he was holding, casted a glance at Mateo and then at looking at Levi, "He was kidnapped by the witches." He said and Levi’s eyebrows furrowed. "They tried to take advantage of the situation and control his mind, but he is all better now." He explained.
"You said you wouldn’t do something foolish but you allowed yourself to be kidnapped?" He asked in annoyance but thru all knew his anger and annoyance was directed to some other persons. "How are you feeling now?" He asked after taking a deep breath.
"I am fine, Levi, you don’t have to worry." Mateo replied. He had thought about what Ezra said and he wanted to give it a try and let go but his would was making it very difficult for him to do so. It just keeps howling and whimpering in his head that it was affecting him too. After all they were one and the same. "I’ll get over it, soon,"
"I all not leaving your side again until that happens. Darren...." Levi said and was about to ask for permission for Darren when he was interrupted.
"You don’t need to babysit me, Li, I am fine." Mateo said with a frown. "Don’t treat me like u am some pup that needs a chaperone to guide him."
"I will never see and treat you as a pup, you are older brother," Levi said in a calm tone. He knew Mateo was not in his best start of mind and he could not get angry at him now. "I just want to look out for my brother when he needs me, I want to be there for you."
"There won’t be any need for that, I am doing fine." Mateo said and Levi felt helpless looking at him. It was clear that he needed someone to share his pains with him but he was psyhijh people away from him. He looked at Darren but he said nothing.
"Alright, but I will always be here for you if you need me."
