Chapter 127: 127. Distinct and Unique
Darren frowned as he heard that. That was unexpected. Of all things he did not expect Lazarus to say that and now he did not know how to respond to it. He just stared at Lazarus with a passive look.
"How is Kora?" Lazarus asked changing the topic. He could see that he was no longer interested in talking about that and he didn’t need to push it any further because he had gotten the answer to his question.
"She is doing well," Darren responded but there was a small frown that formed on his face as he remembered Kora. He was not mad at her but at himself for still finding it difficult to tell her everything. For being fearful and afraid when he know for a fact that she was understanding enough, more mature than she looks not that he considered her a child.
"Is everything all right?" Lazarus asked upon seeing the frown on the face of Darren. Darren was quiet and thinking. "Did something happen to Kora?"
Darren raised a brow and asked, "Do you think I will let anything happen to her?" He thought it ridiculous for Lazarus to think that.
"Then what happened?" Lazarus asked. He shouldn’t be nosy but it concerned Kora so he could not help asking to know.
Darren remembered last night he could not even touch her because he felt it was wrong of him to do so when he couldn’t even tell something about himself. He knew she must have been hurt by his actions. "It’s just something I need to take care of." He said finally making up his mind.
It was better to come clean and tell her everything no than for her to find out about it later. It was better that she hears of this from him before someone else lets it slip and she gets even more hurt and he would lose her trust in him.
Lazarus looked at him trying to decipher between his words and see if there were any lies but there was nothing and he could deduce that it must be something that he found difficult to talk about. Everyone had secrets that they wish not to remember or talk about and he was not surprised to know that Darren had something that he found difficult to share, even with his mate. He nods. "I am glad to hear that she is doing fine." He stopped poking. Whatever it was, they both should talk about it.
Darren nodded and stood up to leave, this time Lazarus did the same and they both walked out together. On their way out, Lazarus spotted Jack sitting on the bar stool near the counter.

In the Vampire territory,
Sebastian and Collins and we’re both called into the Captain’s office along with two more vampires. They sat as they waited for the captain to address the reason he had called them.
Leroy looked up and away from the screen in front of him and gaze upon the four individuals seated in front of him. His gaze was sharp and his expression serious. His mood seemed heavy and for the first time in a long time, Sebastian felt happy to see him.
Leroy turned the laptop screen in their direction and showed them the mail on it. Their eyes followed each of the words on the screen and then looked back at Captain without speaking.
"This is from Lord Dmitri." He said and there was a looking surprise in their eyes that went wide at the new knowledge. He then placed a photo on the table for them all to see. "this is the girl... The shifter he wants and she is the Luna supreme."
They looked at the photo of Kora for a while before looking at the photo of a wolf he had just placed on the table next to the other photo. "This is her beats form," Leroy said and they were once again shocked on seeing that. Her wolf was different and stood out from the rest. Find a way to get her for the lord and he will reward you."
"She is Darren’s mate?" Collins asked and Leroy stared at him for two seconds before he nodded his head. "Her wolf is very distinct and unique," he stated. "Is there something we don’t know about her that we should know?" He asked because the girl in the photo was one whom he had seen before and had heard that she didn’t have a beast form but had special abilities which had caused more harm to them than they had anticipated. But now he was looking at a photo of a beast with a very strange colour and he was told that it was her beast form.
"I believe you already recognised her as the girl from the Blood Moon pack." He asked and they nodded. "That is indeed her, no mistake about it." he said and picked up the wolf photo, "This is her beast, she shifted a few days ago when turned eighteen." He informed them. "You don’t need me to tell you to be careful or how powerful she is, right?" He asked rhetorically.
"Why does the lord want her?" Sebastian asked only to be glared at by the vampires with them. He ignored their glares and continued, "She is powerful, in other words, dangerous."
"That is why he is willing to reward whoever gets the Luna supreme," Leroy said and joining his fingers together and resting his elbows on the arms of the chair. "You will have your chance during the ceremony in a few days from now."
"Is it possible to opt-out?"Sebastian asked because he did not want to end up being fried like all of her victims. Even Leroy was burnt by her and narrowly escaped.
"No." Came the curt and firm reply from the vampire.
"We will think of something, Captain." One of the vampires said, earning a nod of approval from Leroy. He then looked at the two shifters and waited for their response.
"We will do it," Collins said and Leroy nodded again and smiled at them. His eyes fell on Sebastian who looked pissed and smirked.
He asked, "Do you agree, gamma Sebastian?" He likes to call him Gamma because he knew how much he had to be called that after what happened in the past. The glare and annoyed look on Sebastian’s face were always satisfying to see.
"It’s not like we have another option," Sebastian mumbled but he knew they heard clearly. He inwardly cursed at Leroy and wished he would drop dead right there and then.
"Great," Leroy said with a sweet smile and a clap of the hands. "You should go and start making your plans then."
