Chapter 2464: Chapter 2464: Longing Fills My Heart

On Friday, Jasmine Yale had two interviews scheduled, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

The weather was a bit gloomy, and by the time she finished the morning interview, it was already noon.

The interview wasn’t successful; she was politely rejected due to insufficient work experience and lack of professional knowledge. Despite her repeated assurances that she could learn and improve, the HR shrugged apologetically.

In their eyes, they are not a training ground; they don’t have enough time and money to allow employees to grow slowly, which also doesn’t align with their company philosophy.

After understanding this, Jasmine didn’t push further and nodded before leaving.

After lunch, she sat in a bubble tea shop, looking outside the window.

At some point, the rain started falling, gloomy with large raindrops "pitter-pattering" against the ground.

Jasmine ordered a cup of milk cap tea and sipped it quietly, warming her palms.

She kept looking out the window, watching the mist forming on the window glass as the rain outside rushed down, while the customers inside the shop remained unhurried, feeling quite at ease.

Jasmine glanced at the time; it was still early.

Whenever she misses Little Clementine outside, she would browse through the photos on her phone, looking at them one by one.

She hasn’t taken Little Clementine for a full month photo yet.

She would wait until the hundred days to do it.

She doesn’t want to miss any moment of Little Clementine’s growth.

Looking at the photos, Jasmine’s lips curled into a sweet smile, sweeter than the milk tea.

After looking at her daughter’s photos, she becomes more motivated.

The afternoon interview was with a conglomerate that operates a department store chain—ZR Group, quite influential locally in Chicago. They were planning to expand their marketing department and intended to recruit a batch of newcomers.

Jasmine used her free time to do her homework, carefully reading through ZR’s development history, components, and company distribution.

She paid great attention.

The sound of rain outside was bustling but didn’t affect her mood in the slightest.

Sometimes she would rest her chin on her hand while flipping through the materials, and other times she would frown while contemplating problems, looking very serious.

After a while, her phone rang.

It was Butler Santana.

"Hello, Butler Santana."

"Miss Yale, Little Clementine refuses to sleep and keeps lying by the window wanting to look outside. I guess she misses you!"

"Really? Butler Santana, could you put the phone by her ear?"

"Sure."

Jasmine’s face was full of smiles: "Little Clementine, do you miss mommy? Mommy will come back soon, okay? You need to listen to Grandma Santana."

On the other end, there were faint sounds, as if Little Clementine was touching the phone with her hand.

Jasmine missed her too.

After having a child, it’s hard to get used to being apart, even for an hour or half a day.

"Alright, Little Clementine, be good and go to sleep, here’s a kiss." Jasmine gave her a kiss through the phone, and the other side seemingly became cheerful.

Nostalgia enveloped Jasmine’s heart, like the rain outside, tangled and relentless.

"Miss Yale, it’s raining heavily outside, did you bring an umbrella?"

"I did."

"That’s good, don’t get caught in the rain, or you’ll catch a cold."

"I’ll be careful; if I catch a cold, I can’t be near Little Clementine."

"Was the morning interview smooth?"

"Still waiting for notice. I feel more confident about this afternoon’s one; they’re hiring more people, so it’s easier to get in."

"That’s good, even if you don’t find something, it’s okay; we’re not in a rush."

"Mm!"

After hanging up, Jasmine sipped her milk tea, lowered her head, and continued her homework.

Bright light shone on her work notes, the pages filled with beautiful, delicate handwriting.
