Chapter 2444: Chapter 2444: Even the Cheney Residence Was Mortgaged
Lunar New Year.
A bright and sunny day, the sky was crystal clear, stretching endlessly into the distance.
The north wind was still cold, with a chilling touch of endless desolation and loneliness; at a glance, everything seemed to be in hibernation.
Early in the morning, Jasmine Yale dressed Little Clementine in new clothes and put on a new hat.
The little one was afraid of firecrackers, so when there were firecrackers outside, Jasmine covered her ears.
Not many families were setting off firecrackers; most people here were from UT.
Little Clementine was still small, so Jasmine couldn’t take her out to play and just held her, walking around the house.
"Baby, Mommy will take some pictures of you." Jasmine placed Little Clementine on the bed and took several photos of the little one.
Little Clementine looked very nice, especially with a pair of bright, big eyes.
She cooperated well with Jasmine during the photo session, neither crying nor fussing.
Jasmine was particularly satisfied and kissed her several times.
Frederick Owen called her, and she chatted with him for a while.
Although this man was serious and earnest at work, his fondness for children was no less than hers.
"By the way, Miss Yale, the matter you entrusted to me last time, I have taken care of it before the year-end. Actually, I’ve always wanted to ask... why did you mortgage even the Cheney Residence?" Frederick was puzzled.
"To donate to Hope Primary School, and I heard that Aindor had a snow disaster this winter. I’m considering donating some money there too."
"Miss Yale, you’re kidding me."
"Thank you."
"No need to thank me, but Miss Yale, the mortgage interest rate is very high. If you can’t come up with the money to reclaim it, I’m afraid the Cheney Residence will belong to someone else."
"Let it belong to someone else then. It’s just an empty house with nothing worth remembering."
Frederick wasn’t sure if what she said was true, but it didn’t seem like a joke.
But since it was Jasmine Yale’s decision, he couldn’t refute it, because the ownership of Cheney Residence already belonged to Jasmine; she could handle it in any way she wanted, even if it meant donating it for free.
Frederick casually chatted with Jasmine for a bit before hanging up the phone.
Kade Yuvan had poked Jasmine on WeChat many times, but Jasmine hadn’t responded until today.
Kade asked her for her phone number.
Jasmine gave him the number for her new phone card.
No sooner had she sent it than Kade called.
"Jasmine, I thought you were ignoring me and would never hang out with me again."
Jasmine laughed at his childish words and said, "Why would I ignore you? You didn’t do anything wrong."
"I did something wrong; when you had your child, I didn’t even visit you in the hospital."
"I know you were busy, and you told me in advance that you had to go to Old York."
"Hehe, as long as you can forgive me."
"It’s nothing. By the way, are you back in Landon?"
"Yes, I’m actually lying on my bed at home while talking to you! It’s rare to have a holiday; I’ve been so exhausted recently. The new Financial District project in Old York is extremely difficult. Only our President could handle such a tricky project; no one else has the capability."
"Since you’re back in the country, will you have time to come back?"
"I will. I specifically took a few extra days off. When I return, will you let me see your daughter? I’m sure she looks a lot like you."
"I’ll let you see her when there’s a chance; everyone says she looks like me anyway."
"It’s good that she looks like you; she’ll be beautiful when she grows up."
"When did you become so good at flattering?"
"I’m telling the truth; I don’t lie, I’m an honest person."
