Chapter 2385: Chapter 2385: I Have Something to Tell You

Jasmine Yale always feels that Sylvan Cheney is busier than before and hesitates to disturb him. Even when she bathes at night, if she can do it herself, she won’t trouble him.

She’s not actually used to being cared for like this; she just enjoys the time spent with him.

That night.

It’s already past midnight. Sylvan Cheney has probably just returned from a social event, and there’s a strong scent of alcohol on him.

He walks to the bedroom without turning on the light, using the faint moonlight to look at Jasmine Yale sleeping peacefully on the bed.

She habitually curls up when she sleeps, her black hair covering half of her face.

Her sleeping face is exceptionally serene.

Sylvan Cheney isn’t drunk; he bends down and gently strokes her cheek with his fingers.

Perhaps because his fingers are too cold, Jasmine Yale moves her lips and arm, waking up.

In the darkness, she can’t see him, but she knows it’s him.

"You’re back?"

"Mm."

"I’ve already taken a nap. Are you tired? If you are, take a shower and rest early." Her voice is sweet and soft, a bit muddled.

"I know."

Just as Sylvan Cheney is about to move his hand away, Jasmine Yale grasps his hand.

Her hand is warm, a stark contrast to his cold one.

In the dark, she can’t quite see his face, but she curls her lips and smiles, "Did you drink a lot? You said all meetings that could be passed to Kade Yuvan were given to him."

"There are always some that can’t be avoided." Sylvan Cheney frowns slightly, "You don’t need to worry about my work."

"I’m not worried, I have something to tell you." Jasmine Yale, in her half-awake state, prepared to share thoughts she’d been pondering for days.

Some words she’s been considering for a long time.

"What is it?" Sylvan looks at her, very close.

She has a faint fragrance, like gardenia, or perhaps jasmine.

He wants to turn on the light to see her, but Jasmine Yale holds his hand, stopping him from moving.

"You seem very busy lately." Jasmine Yale’s voice is calm, as if half-asleep, "I’ve thought about it... Maybe I should go home for now. As a pregnant woman staying here, I’m definitely imposing."

"Am I not taking good care of you?"

"No, if I’m at home, I can talk to Butler Santana; it won’t be so lonely during the day."

"Is that what you’re thinking?"

"Mm... That’s what I’m thinking." Jasmine Yale nods, "You know how pregnant women can be emotionally unstable. Having someone around is surely better than being alone. If you want to see me, you can come to my house."

In the nighttime, Jasmine Yale can’t quite see Sylvan Cheney’s expression.

When she isn’t speaking, he remains silent too.

For a moment, the entire bedroom sinks into silence.

"Will you still come over after going back?" After a long pause, he asks.

"Probably not. It’s only a month until the due date. At that time, it might be difficult for you to visit frequently."

"Jasmine... I haven’t been taking good care of you."

"Why say that? Do we need to be so polite between us? You’ve taken great care of me; my mood has been really good. I know you’re busy with work. Once the baby is born, how about you focus on taking care of him?"

"Jasmine... When will you go home?"

"Home..." Jasmine Yale murmurs, a slightly vacant look in her eyes, "Tomorrow then. I’ll have Butler Santana come to pick me up. If you want to stay at my place, you can, and if not, just visit when you have time."

"I’ll take you over."

"No need, I can find my way home."
