Chapter 2337: Chapter 2337: His Jokes Are So Awkward
Knowing fully well he wouldn’t dare let her go hungry, she still let go of his hand playfully: "Hate you."
"Hmm, be good, I’ll let you hug me all you want tonight."
After the dishes were ready, Jasmine Yale sat face-to-face with Sylvan Cheney as they ate together.
Sylvan Cheney experienced a hint of surrealness as he ate and looked at her. When he originally bought this apartment, he probably never imagined that months later, he would be living with a woman.
He always considered himself someone who wasn’t particularly lustful, at least when it came to women, he adhered to his principles.
But when he met Jasmine Yale, all those so-called principles went out the window.
He liked watching her laugh, loved listening to her sweet voice, and adored seeing her dimples.
Even now, with her carrying a child and sporting a big belly, he still loved her.
"Why are you laughing?" Jasmine Yale curiously glanced at him, wondering how someone could laugh while eating.
"Oh, nothing. Just thinking you look adorable."
"I’ve always been adorable, are you going to just laugh forever then?"
"You’re really good at praising yourself." Sylvan Cheney’s affectionate gaze fell upon her face.
Jasmine Yale didn’t mind him.
After all, it was rare for her to see Sylvan Cheney smile.
His smile was a rare commodity, yet she loved it very much.
Back in Landon, he barely smiled; now in Cakago, things have improved, but most of the time, he still prefers to keep a straight face.
"Eat more." Sylvan Cheney served her a piece of garlic-flavored ribs, "You like these."
"Join me in eating, no picky eating." Jasmine Yale said, "Do you still have to work overtime tonight?"
"Want to go out for a walk? But tonight the wind is strong, not suitable for going out."
"No need to go out, just being at home with you is fine." Jasmine Yale’s eyes curved with a smile, "Sometimes I feel, as long as you’re by my side, everything is good, even doing nothing is wonderful."
"Like me that much?"
"Who’s fond of you?" Jasmine Yale teased.
They chatted casually, with Jasmine Yale laughing freely, uninhibited.
Previously, when chatting with him, he would often be indifferent, but now his personality has changed considerably. He would actively share interesting tales with her, even telling lame jokes.
However, his jokes are typically quite cold, so cold that Jasmine Yale would stare blankly, then awkwardly laugh twice, concluding that this man is better at delivering presentations, because telling jokes honestly doesn’t suit him.
For example, there was a tomato that accidentally fell into soup, and that’s how tomato soup came to be. A seeing egg tried to rescue the tomato, but ended up falling in too, resulting in egg and tomato soup.
Normally, Jasmine Yale would chime in with a laugh or two, despite how cringe his jokes were.
Yet she’s fascinated by his voice, so no matter what he says, she listens intently.
After the meal, Sylvan Cheney sliced a platter of fruits for Jasmine Yale and fed her a few bites before heading to the kitchen to tidy up the dishes.
He’s quite busy, but he doesn’t mind these brief moments.
Jasmine Yale stood leisurely on the balcony, quietly gazing out at the somber night sky through the window.
The ecological environment here is splendid, moonlight hazy, stars filling the sky, showcasing the most enchanting autumn night scenery.
In the distance, countless lights illuminate the city, many high-rise buildings aglow, blending vibrance with tranquility to form a stunning skyline.
A gentle breeze rustles the treetops, intense love coursing through the heart.
At this moment, Jasmine Yale’s heart is exceptionally calm, brimming only with sweet affection, akin to honey.
