Chapter 2330: Chapter 2330: Evan and CEO Janus’s Wedding
A few women were chattering away, discussing work-related matters.
They probably thought their voices weren’t loud, and perhaps there wasn’t much to avoid since there was no one else in the store.
However, Jasmine Yale still heard them.
She heard it, sure, but she usually didn’t take it to heart.
Hasn’t she heard enough of this kind of gossip?
The women seemed to be enjoying their conversation, enthusiastically continuing without pause.
"I envy CEO Janus’s figure the most. Even in summer, as a woman, I find it enticing—so sexy and stunning. Plus, being biracial, she’s truly beautiful."
"Exactly, the darling of heaven, born to be a Little Princess. We can’t compare. Her grandfather’s prestige in UT can’t be matched by ordinary people."
"We can’t compete with her status, but CEO Janus’s figure and skin are truly enviable."
"CEO Janus and Evan really make a perfect match, talented and beautiful couple, no doubt. We’re waiting for the wedding candy."
"Do they give out wedding candy in UT?"
"What do UT and non-UT mean? Evan isn’t from UT, neither is President Janus."
"Then do you think that when Evan and CEO Janus get married, he’s marrying into her family?"
"Hard to say, but it looks like it. Evan doesn’t seem to have any background. CEO Janus is an only daughter. If Evan wants to inherit the James Group, marriage into the family seems likely."
"Tsk tsk, such a good man, and still he has to marry into her family. Besides, President Janus is still young. How could the James Group be given to Evan? But being the CEO in the group already surpasses countless men."
"It’s their family business. Let’s not worry or make a fuss. What does it have to do with us? At most, we’ll just share some candy and get a red envelope."
The group of women continued chattering non-stop.
Jasmine Yale took a sip of her milk tea, closing her eyes slightly to soak in the sunlight by the window.
The fragmented light fell on her long eyelashes, with flecks of brilliance on her eyelids, enhancing her fair, porcelain-like face.
Every now and then, glances were cast her way; she could feel them but didn’t mind.
After finishing her milk tea, it seemed like the group of women had no intention of leaving.
As the saying goes, three women make a show. Their chat filled the shop with laughter and joy.
Jasmine propped her chin and took out her phone to play.
The process of waiting for someone is always tedious, but she was used to waiting for Sylvan Cheney.
Seeing Sylvan’s profile picture lit up, she couldn’t resist sending him a message: "Finished a cup of red bean milk tea. The sunshine here is lovely."
She casually snapped a photo of the scenery outside the window—sun umbrellas, chairs, green trees, and reflections.
Before long, Sylvan replied: "I’ll be there after I finish handling a document."
"How come you replied so quickly?"
"I set a special alert."
Jasmine smiled; her heart felt sweet, even sweeter than the milk tea she’d had.
He actually set that up.
She thought he didn’t care about these things.
"I won’t disturb you then. Handle the document carefully; don’t make mistakes," she replied.
"Okay, I’ll finish it as soon as possible."
Just as Jasmine was about to send an emoji, those female colleagues seemed to have finished chatting and approached her.
"Oh, isn’t this Jasmine Yale? Ah, my eyesight is so bad. When did you get here?" one colleague started, "If we knew you were here, we’d have invited you to join us for tea. We ordered a bunch of stuff and couldn’t finish it!"
