Chapter 2308: Chapter 2308: Proposed to Her
After the meal, Jasmine Yale leaned against Sylvan Cheney, her small hand wrapped around his waist, snuggling against his warm chest.
Sylvan Cheney embraced her casually: "Did you enjoy lunch? How was the taste? If there’s anything you didn’t like, tell me and I’ll change it."
"With someone as picky as you handling the cooking, how could there be anything not to like? I’m very satisfied, I’ll give you a hundred points, not afraid you’ll become arrogant."
"You little thing, you really know how to flatter people."
"Could you keep chatting with me for a while longer? Just let me lean against you like this. If I get tired and fall asleep, could you carry me to bed?"
"Alright, what do you want to talk about?"
"Do you... have anything you’re hiding from me?"
"Why are you asking this? What could I be hiding from you? Little imagination, thinking all sorts of silly thoughts all day." He rubbed her hair.
"Oh, I bet you wouldn’t dare, whether now or in the future, you cannot hide anything from me. Since I agreed to be with you, I want you to be wholeheartedly true to me, can you do that?"
"I can." He bowed his head and kissed her forehead.
Jasmine nuzzled in his arms like a little kitten.
Her small hands were clutching the sweater on Sylvan’s chest. When she looked up, she could see his chin perfectly.
She raised her finger, gently stroking his chin, her wide eyes gazing at him, filled with unbreakable tenderness.
Only he could make her feel her heart race, make her want to be close.
She could give up on him, but she would never give up loving him.
In this lifetime, he was the only one her heart loved.
"President, a few days ago I was flipping through a book of fairy tales and saw a story, can I tell it to you?"
Sylvan Cheney frowned, here we go again.
Whenever she starts a story, he gets nervous.
Not sure what tricky or strange question she’s about to ask him.
But he couldn’t rebut, so he just surrendered, "You tell, I’ll listen."
"So obedient." Jasmine Yale smile as she touched his face, "The story goes like this: There’s a prince who, while hunting, fell down a slope. He got injured and his mind didn’t work well anymore, and it was a girl who collected herbs that saved him. That girl took care of him daily, healed his wounds, cooked for him, and day by day, they developed feelings for each other."
"However, the prince couldn’t remember anything, and the girl didn’t know his identity; they fell in love like this and even thought about being together for life."
"The prince said he wanted to marry her, even proposed to her, and the beautiful girl happily accepted. Then one day, when the prince went to the mountain to gather herbs, while the girl was at home cooking, a group of aristocratic-looking people found her home, and only then did she realize she had saved the king’s only, most cherished youngest son, destined to inherit the throne."
"Those people said they appreciated the girl for saving the prince’s life and could give her endless wealth and glory, but she had to leave the prince. After all, her identity wasn’t suitable for the prince, an herb-collecting girl couldn’t become a queen, and the noble prince was meant to marry a noble princess or ladies from prominent families."
"The girl agreed, and before the prince returned, she left their little home, never to return."
"Story concluded." Jasmine Yale still smiled brightly looking at him, she noticed Sylvan Cheney listened quite attentively.
It seemed her storytelling skills were decent.
Sylvan Cheney lowered his head, gazing at her charming and beautiful face, his brow held a hint of emotion.
