"Alas, what a shame." Kade Yuvan took a sip of tea and sighed, "It seems like I don’t need to envy the CEO; I bet he’s suffering quite a bit in private."
Jasmine Yale: "..."
"When I rushed to the birthday party, CEO Janus was knocked out on the floor, and the CEO was alone in the bathroom taking a cold shower. He didn’t even take off his clothes, but he really was disheveled. Nothing actually happened, though." Kade smacked his lips and continued, "Faced with such a situation, a man’s first reaction isn’t to secretly rejoice but to knock the woman out. Do you think that’s normal?"
"Not normal."
"Right, you also think it’s not normal? After I took the CEO away, he didn’t say a word the entire way back. It happened to be raining that day, and he stayed in the rain for quite a while." Kade sighed.
Jasmine’s brows furrowed even deeper; no wonder he kept coughing when he called her the next day.
Moreover, his attitude was poor, with a sense of dissatisfaction.
"That night he caught a cold and had a fever, didn’t go to the hospital, and just bought some medicine to take. I asked him to stay in Old York for a few days, at least until he felt better before returning to Cakago, but he wouldn’t listen. No matter what I said, he wouldn’t hear me out, and didn’t give me any reason, which was quite frustrating."
"That’s just how he is." Jasmine said casually.
For some reason, something stirred within her heart, rising and falling like waves.
She couldn’t quite describe the feeling simmering within her chest.
Suppressing her emotions, she took a sip of orange juice.
"Yes, yes." Kade agreed with Jasmine, not noticing any reactions from her, as he spoke with enthusiasm, "Once you get used to it, it’s nothing much, but this kind of personality makes it hard to get along with strangers. Jasmine, you really have the patience to tolerate the CEO’s temper."
"My little temper, it’s long been worn down by him."
It was worn down many years ago.
She used to be quite a spirited girl, wasn’t she? But whenever he criticized her a few times or knocked her down a few pegs, eventually... where was there any temper left?
"Being too accommodating isn’t good either." Kade seemed to speak from experience, "I think he genuinely wants to pursue you. He seems to like you a lot."
"Is that so..." Jasmine said noncommittally.
"I’ve told you the little secret anyway, you decide for yourself." Kade hesitated.
Previously, he couldn’t figure out why the CEO liked pregnant women, but now it seems... it can be explained. This way, he gets both a wife and kids, having it all.

"Eat more, eat more, don’t be polite with me. It’s rare that I invite you out for a meal." Kade was very enthusiastic, "Today the CEO went to Old York; I can finally relax a bit, accompany me and chat some more."
"Why did he go to Old York?"
"Probably for the bank issue, I didn’t ask, seems like it’s the unresolved matter from last time."

"Recently the CEO has approved quite a few projects, but the important ones are just a few."
"Is Erin Janus not coming to the branch company?"
"She rarely comes; she has a fashion magazine business. Occasionally, she goes to do some magazine shooting, but generally she’s hanging out with her friends. She loves drinking, partying all night, and staying out."
Jasmine listened to Kade without commenting.
"She doesn’t come to the company often; I don’t think the CEO is very attentive to her either."
