Chapter 2440: Chapter 1079: Skeleton Volcano (Part 3)
Amidst the Skeleton Howling Peaks, the emergence of a Skeleton Volcano is merely the beginning; the goal of activating this gigantic Magic Array has yet to be achieved.
"Understood!" The Burning Flames Queen, undisturbed in the slightest by her wish being fulfilled, immediately plunged back into the Skeleton Volcano.
Boom!
The Skeleton Volcano entered yet another eruption cycle.
Amidst the violent eruption, a radiant orb emitting endless berserk energy seized the opportunity to burst forth, seemingly trying to return to its own domain.
However, as it reached a height equivalent to two Planes, countless fiery chains suddenly appeared, binding it tightly and connecting it to the Skeleton Volcano below, rendering it immobile.
Seeing the chance for escape so close at hand, the Divine Nature Incarnation of the King of the Jackalweres naturally struggled madly, with the surrounding Berserk Divine Power actively responding to him, flowing continuously.
Yet, the fiery chains binding him not only served to confine but also to drain the Berserk Divine Power from him.
The faster he absorbed the Berserk Divine Power, the faster these fiery chains drained it, and vice versa.
This Divine Nature Incarnation of the King of the Jackalweres wasn’t actually escaping; it was bait consciously released by Gaven and his companions to draw the Berserk Divine Power from Yenogu’s Realm.
Soon, this Divine Nature Incarnation of the King of the Jackalweres realized this. However, he did not cease struggling, but instead, intensified his efforts.
For he lacked any spirit of self-sacrifice, unwilling to abandon himself for the overall benefit of the King of the Jackalweres.
His thought process was simple: the more fiercely he struggled here, the greater the depletion it would cause to the King of the Jackalweres, forcing either his true form or other Divine Nature Incarnations to rescue him.
It was uncommon for demons to engage in acts that harm themselves without benefiting others, and even rarer for them to engage in self-sacrificing acts.
But for Gaven and the others, it was a welcome sight.
With the extreme cooperation of this Divine Nature Incarnation of the King of the Jackalweres, the teleportation ability of the Howling Peaks was fully activated.
The positions of the two were completely swapped.
The Skeleton Howling Peaks appeared in Yenogu’s Realm, while the Howling Peaks entered the Plains of Bone.
...
"Did he really succeed?" The Ghoul King Doreisan couldn’t help but rise from the Soulless Throne.
He naturally kept a close watch on Gaven’s every move.
Although his Soulless Throne’s capacity for surveillance couldn’t compare to Yenogu’s Siege, within the Plains of Bone, it still possessed certain mystical abilities.
Moreover, the commotion caused was anything but small.
As an integral part of the Bone Plane, his feeling on the matter far surpassed that of others.
Because he clearly sensed that the invader wasn’t simply activating the group Transmission Array; he was obviously executing a massive transfer.
Countless soul energies belonging to the Bone Plane were being transferred bit by bit into Yenogu’s Realm through this enormous Magic Transmission Array.
This was evident from the ever-expanding territory of the Skeleton Howling Peaks within Yenogu’s Realm, while conversely, the Undead Slaughter Territory within the Bone Plane rapidly shrank.
For a moment, the Ghoul King found it hard to describe his feelings, unsure whether to be excited and happy or to feel a sense of loss and sadness.
Amazed by the opponent’s unimaginably powerful ability, able to single-handedly reverse engineer the teleportation mystery of the Skeleton Howling Peaks from the Bone Plane side.
This was a mystery he had not been able to decipher after thousands of years of study.
Though, this could be explained by specialization; after all, his opponent built his Divine Foundation through his path, so having unique expertise in this area was not surprising.
He was pleased that the other indeed kept their promise; upon activating the Howling Peaks, they really began transferring their territory to Yenogu’s Realm.
The more power transferred away, the less the future threat posed to him.
But, success begets failure.
Once this massive force was transferred away, it would influence the entire Plane Laws; the power of the Skeleton Law shrouding this place would be greatly diminished, and here would be thoroughly dominated by his Craving Law, becoming a domain of Ghouls.
At that time, could this Plane still be called the Bone Plane?
The answer was no.
It would either be called the Ghoul Plane or Doreisan’s Domain, until one day everyone forgot that it was once the Bone Plane, and the Skeleton Law would completely vanish from here.
Then, he would have to face a harsh and realistic problem.
What would those insatiable Ghouls eat?
Unlike regular undead, Ghouls’ ravenous consumption is not driven by bodily needs but by their soul’s need.
Only through ravenous eating can their empty souls gain a moment of satisfaction.
Without external enemies and food, mutual slaughter and gnawing would become the only choice.
Upon further thought, it seemed not to be a bad thing.
Such seemingly internal strife was actually a form of breeding, which would create a large number of powerful Abyssal Ghouls.
In the short term, it was more beneficial than harmful to the Ghoul King.
Now he could let go completely, focusing his attention on the Jackalweres, deploying his Divine Nature Incarnations to lead the Ghoul Army stranded in Yenogu’s Realm to besiege the Jackalweres there.
Now was the time to harvest as many souls amidst the chaos as possible.
Once that invader moved his entire Undead Slaughter Army, even such opportunities would be scarce.
...
"Interesting, truly interesting. Yenogu not only fell completely this time but at the hands of a mortal. Even if he doesn’t perish, he will become the greatest joke of the Bottomless Abyss, with no chance of recovering anytime soon."
The Queen of the Succubi couldn’t help but stick out her tongue, licking her enchanting red lips and revealing a bewitching smile.
This was her sign of intense interest in something.
Now, naturally, what sparked her interest was the Abyssal invader who called himself the Hands of Slaughter.
The other had proven his worth through his actions; before long, he would become an unignorably powerful force in the Bottomless Abyss.
If he were a traditional Undead Lord, she would have no interest, detouring completely.
Because their abilities were incompatible, she couldn’t utilize him, and confronting him would easily lead to her being countered.
But he was a living being, which was right up her alley.
She had every confidence of making him her confidant, putting him to her service.
Controlling him would be akin to controlling that immense Undead force.
Being occupied with concocting her schemes, the Queen of the Succubi issued continuous commands to expedite progress, "Speed up, ensure to take the Gathering Gate before the enemy reacts."
Though Charm and control were frequent methods employed by the Queen of the Succubi, they weren’t her only tools.
If she could control directly, she certainly wouldn’t resort to such charm tactics.
After all, this method wasn’t guaranteed to succeed and could also be broken.
