An ectopic pregnancy, also known as extrauterine pregnancy, means the fertilized egg implants not in the uterus but elsewhere. An ultrasound cannot check whether a fallopian tube has been removed, to find out, a CT scan can be tried. However, if a fallopian tube hasn’t been removed, it is difficult to detect from outside the body. Medical technology has its limits.
