Chapter 2180: Chapter 2180: The Classmates Arrive
Seeing that Teacher Tan had something to say, Xie Wanying listened attentively.
"His white blood cell count came out a bit high last night. He needs an injection for a full course. During this time, make sure he gets rest and pay attention to his diet," said Tan Kelin.
"Yes, Teacher Tan." Xie Wanying jotted it down in her notebook.
Others told her: "Your mom went to buy breakfast. Knowing you might come back, she went to get you something tasty."
Her mom always worried about her, fearing her daughter wasn’t eating well. Knowing she couldn’t cook, her mom felt she’d struggle to have good meals and worried she might go hungry. It’s a typical trait of many parents in the country, not fearing anything else but their child not eating well.
The other teachers left, and Xie Wanying sat with the counselor waiting for her mom to return.
"Your mom looks quite young," Ren Chongda praised.
The counselor surprisingly sweetly complimented her mom’s youthful appearance. Xie Wanying couldn’t help but curve her lips slightly. Truth be told, her mom wasn’t young at all—she was in her early fifties. Her mom married late, not early.
This student is quite realistic, so Ren Chongda had to explain further: "Your mom is talkative and lively, making her appear younger."
Compared to her own mom and her childhood friends, Xie Wanying admits she’s not good at speaking, which is where she differs most from her mom.
Ren Chongda considered whether to tell the student that Mother Xie’s performance last night left a good impression on many teachers.
Outside, the sound of running footsteps approached, and soon a group of students rushed into the doorway: "Teacher Ren, Yingying, we’re here."
Before Mother Xie arrived, her classmates came to show their concern for her and her brother.
Li Qi’an and the four from their dorm, who are close to her, rushed in first, while others like Student Pan Shihua and Student Lin Hao, who were familiar with her, were from the surgery department. Class monitor Yue Wentong leisurely walked at the end, bringing her brother a portable children’s dining set. Perhaps thinking that paying attention to food hygiene when the little one has an upset stomach is always right.
After greeting her and the counselor, this group of medical student brothers eagerly crowded around the sick little one.
With Li Qi’an, Zhao Zhaowei, and their chatty bunch there, it’s bound to be lively.
"He sleeps like my cousin—sleeping dead to the world. Do you believe it? Even thunder won’t wake him," Zhao Zhaowei swiftly found a topic to jump into.
"Look who’s talking. When it comes to thunder, you’re the first one who won’t wake up," Feng Yicong argued back without courtesy.
As the two glared at each other, Li Qi’an observed the little one’s adorable sleeping face, saying, "Like this—" With the unspoken thought of wondering if Student Xie’s childhood sleeping face resembled her brother’s.
"How old is he this year?" Student Pan Shihua asked pragmatically.
"Thirteen after the New Year," Xie Wanying, as the older sister, replied.
A thirteen-year-old little one looked like a little radish. A group of guys remarked with feeling: "It’s different having an older sister."
With an older sister to protect him, the younger brother can take his time growing up. Being the second child in the family, he’s definitely the one pampered.
"Does he have a phobia of white coats?" Lin Hao asked uncertainly.
The classmates were quite surprised by this news. The older sister is an excellent medical student, yet the younger brother is a child afraid of doctors. Regarding this issue, Xie Wanying knows who’s responsible. She’s not close with her paternal grandparents, unlike her maternal grandfather, thus reluctant to mention those elders who weren’t fond of her.
