Yi Shan City.

The mighty city stood tall, Dharma Light flowing around it. A middle-aged man clad in Black Gold Spirit Armor stood atop a Golden Shuttle, his eyes like hawks underneath his sharp brows, gazing into the distance.

His Spirit Armor was dark as black gold, glistening with scale-like luster, perfectly blending with the Golden Bow behind him. The rhombic Flying Shuttle beneath his feet emanated piercing Metal Gang aura.

The grinding of years had tempered his ambition; his gaze hung slightly downward, eyes half-lidded, all his sharpness hidden inside, polished and accumulated, waiting to be unleashed.

Li Xuanfeng rode the wind up from atop the city wall, pausing for a moment. In the distant sea of trees, demons were circling, yet they made no move to come forward. He landed back on the wall. A few people ascended from below—mostly young, unfamiliar faces.

Only one middle-aged man stepped forward, dignified and gentle-looking, his voice soft as he said:

"Xuanfeng, Fairy Qiu Hu is waiting outside the city."

Most of those who had followed him south in those years had settled here, married and started families, but were eventually consumed in battle by demons—only Fei Yihe remained by his side, now over seventy years old, yet still not daring to break through.

Though the Green Pond Sect had never said anything, the Fei Clan's past tragedy was fresh in mind; Fei Yihe naturally dared not act rashly. Hearing this, Li Xuanfeng merely nodded, unsurprised.

'If Ning Wan has come, then the Perfected Person must have emerged from seclusion.'

His Spirit Armor rang crisply on the ground. Li Xuanfeng rode the wind downward, spotting a woman standing at a modest stall in the market, watching with great interest.

Ning Wan possessed a very unique aura. Though she used Green Pond Spells to conceal her Cultivation Level, Li Xuanfeng cultivated the Clear Vision Spiritual Pupil, and his cultivation was similar to hers; with a single glance, he found her, stepped forward, and softly said:

"Xuanfeng greets Senior."

Now at the Foundation Establishment Peak, not far from Zifu, Ning Wan was quite powerful. She glanced back at him, replying gently:

"Not bad… When do you plan to enter seclusion and break through?"

Li Xuanfeng had been at Foundation Establishment Middle Stage for a long time, constantly honing his cultivation. Hearing her question, he replied:

"I fear my foundation is unsteady, so I'm not in a hurry to break through."

Ning Wan nodded, smiling brightly as she said:

"I've seen your archery. Now that I think of it, the Tang Jin Sect disciple who came south back then—it was you who killed him, wasn't it?"

Li Xuanfeng hadn't expected her to bring up the past, but by now, it no longer mattered. He apologized, and Ning Wan nodded, saying:

"You were so young then, yet already grasped the intent of the arrow. At the time, I was influenced by [Elder by the Stream] or by Jiang Boqing, and mistakenly thought it was a Zifu cultivator. It ended up forging our fate today—such is the unpredictability of life."

Li Xuanfeng felt a pang of sorrow recalling the past, though nothing showed on his face. Ning Wan continued:

"There is some news I should inform you of."

"I'm all ears."

Li Xuanfeng immediately grew alert. Ning Wan shook her head, saying:

"Overseas, on Red Reef Island, there is a direct lineage female cultivator named Guo Hongyao. She rode the wind and stirred up no small trouble on your clan's territory… Apparently, she intended to take someone as a disciple, but the matter ended with both sides displeased and dispersing hastily."

"Red Reef Island?"

At the mention of news from his family, Li Xuanfeng instantly became attentive. Ning Wan glanced at him and softly added:

"Then, on her return overseas, this Female Cultivator was abruptly gravely wounded—almost killed on her own turf. She only escaped using a Talisman, but a very important Magic Artifact was stolen. The perpetrator is brazen indeed, and Red Reef Island has already dispatched people to investigate."

Ning Wan pressed her lips together in a smile; clearly, this news put her in good spirits. Suddenly, she said:

"The Qing Song Temple ruin lies ahead. Red Reef Island won't investigate too deeply. That Female Cultivator suffered in vain—progress will be hard to come by for decades yet."

Li Xuanfeng was taken aback, frowning:

"To dare rob an Immortal Sect's direct lineage on their own turf—who would be so bold…"

Ning Wan merely smiled without speaking. The two of them flew for a while, then—almost by instinct—alighted together before Yuan Su's Cave Mansion. Circling past the bizarre bronze beasts in the courtyard, they were enveloped in drifting white mist, cold and damp around their ankles. Atop the Stone Platform sat Yuan Su Perfected Person.

"Greetings, Perfected Person!"

Yuan Su Perfected Person's features were round and normally lacked any imposing air. Now, he seemed more ethereal than ever. The pale golden Seal at his waist swayed gently. Li Xuanfeng and Ning Wan bowed deeply. Yuan Su gestured for them to rise, then asked:

"Wan'er, how did things go?"

Ning Wan replied respectfully:

"Reporting to Patriarch: a few who seem fated have already received Qing Song Temple's message, and each has headed for the seas. So far, nothing untoward…"

"Very well."

Yuan Su nodded, lightly fingering the Seal as he spoke evenly:

"Luoxia Mountain did send the fruit position into the mortal world; it's only normal that several strands of fate should thus take shape. Those who stand out—even if not marked by destiny—are by no means ordinary, and entering the ruin, they're likely to retrieve something at least."

Ning Wan nodded quietly, adding in a low voice:

"However… there's a major development. Sui Guan Perfected Person made a trip to Red Reef Island, then went to Jin Yu Sect—Zhang Tianyuan personally showed him out, very respectfully."

Sui Guan Perfected Person was a Zifu Monk who had mysteriously emerged from the lifeless, jade-green waters of the Green Pond Cave Heaven. Upon hearing this, Yuan Su's expression darkened and he muttered lowly:

"What is he up to again!"

Yuan Su found this person deeply troublesome. No matter how stubborn Chi Buzi's temperament might be, at least they were acquainted and on tolerable terms, and his cultivation not too high. But Sui Guan was truly an enigma.

Yuan Su had stayed hidden in Yi Shan City, even shutting himself away to break through, all to avoid this man. Now hearing news of him, Yuan Su's expression was far from pleasant. Ning Wan hesitated a moment before replying:
