Chapter 49: Not A Chapter
Hey everyone, it’s me, the author.
Before anything else, I want to apologize for going dark on this fic and not updating regularly since last year. I know some of you have been waiting a long time, and radio silence isn’t fair to you after you’ve stuck with this story.
Here’s what happened: I ran into a health issue that needed treatment, and that treatment didn’t wrap up until this past February. Right after that, I was thrown straight into catching up on an entire half-year of missed college syllabus and exams. Between recovering and cramming, writing had to take a back seat. The good news is that’s all behind me now — exams are done, and I’ve officially graduated.
With that Chapter of my life closed, I’m ready to get back to this one. Starting now, I’ll be updating on a regular schedule: three Chapters a week.
I also saw a lot of you asking about my Pokémon fanfic in the comments, so here’s the good news and bad news on that front. Good news: it’s not abandoned, and I do plan to keep writing it. Bad news: before I post any new Chapters, I’m going back to rewrite the earlier ones first.
The same goes for this fic, to some extent. Alongside new Chapters, I’ll be going back and rewriting some of the earlier ones here too.
So here’s the plan going forward: new Chapters and rewritten Chapters will be going up side by side, three updates a week, no more year-long silences.
I know "I’m back and updating regularly" is something authors say a lot, and don’t always follow through on. I get why that’s frustrating to hear again. All I can do is show you with actual Chapters instead of just promises, so that’s what I’m focusing on from here.
Thank you, genuinely, to everyone who left comments checking in, who kept this fic on their bookmarks or subscriptions through the silence, and who’s still here reading this update. It means more than I can really put into words.
