Chapter 361: FTG Chapter 358: The Legacy

Learning that Igneel had another son, Natsu still held some expectations in his heart.

He raised his head to look toward Weston: "Old grandpa said just now that the one named Ignia has already..."

"Died!"

Weston’s expression was flat, as if speaking of an insignificant minor character: "That fellow wanted to transform the entire Guiltina, and even the humans of the whole world, into dragons from a biological level. We could only finish him off!"

Natsu was stunned for a moment, sitting back down without speaking.

This fellow named Ignia wanted to transform humans into dragons; this was clearly not something a good person... no, a good dragon should do!

If he had known, he would have definitely stopped him!

Fortunately, his project had already been stopped a few decades ago by the old grandpa before him and his partners, and he had also paid the price for the mistakes he committed.

After straightening everything out, only the emotion of regret was left within Natsu’s heart.

"If Igneel knew, he would probably be very sad..."

Natsu murmured in a low voice, and subsequently transformed his sadness into appetite, grabbing a beef skewer beside his hand to eat in large mouthfuls.

Sensing that he was in a bad mood, everyone present accompanied him in silence for a good while.

After quite a while, Weston began to recount the final Chapter of the story.

"The ’Gold Dragon God’ Viernes was our very last opponent."

"His power was relatively abstract, also involving the domain of alchemy, completely different from the other several dragons. He simply couldn’t be killed using ordinary methods."

"Fortunately, on our side, there were a few people whose abilities were even more abstract than his!"

An unfamiliar term and an unfamiliar power system drew everyone’s attention.

"Alchemy?"

This time, Natsu was still completely bewildered, but the bewildered one wasn’t just him; Gray was the same.

"Hahaha..." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Natsu had already emerged from his previous mood. Hearing Gray’s words at this moment, he seized the opportunity to retaliate on the spot: "Serves you right for not listening properly during lectures in class, clueless idiot!!"

Gray, however, didn’t care, sneering instead: "This is absolutely not content we previously studied in the textbooks!"

"Is it?" Natsu looked toward Erzi.

Erzi nodded: "What Gray says is true, we are a magic academy after all, so of course we don’t teach alchemy!"

Magic and alchemy were two completely different systems. Fairy Academy was a magic academy, so naturally there was no logic in opening alchemy courses in the lower grades.

"Actually, it’s not that it’s completely untaught."

Weston said softly: "If you guys can test into the university department of Fairy Academy, you will discover that there is an elective course for ’Alchemy.’ In this course, there is an opportunity to learn some knowledge of alchemy."

"But it’s a different system after all, so very few students used to select it in the past."

"Even if there were one or two, they were all Wizards who use Maker Magic."

Hearing up to this point, the only user of Maker Magic present at the scene, Gray, curiously held up his right hand: "Why is that?"

Weston answered: "Because alchemy and Maker Magic are somewhat similar in certain aspects. If one can combine the two powers together, theoretically it can allow a molding Wizard’s Maker Magic to progress a step further."

"Of course, this is a theory applicable only to those Wizards who have already walked to the peak on the path of ’Maker Magic’."

Seeing that Gray seemed to have intentions of walking further and further away on the topic of ’alchemy’, Gajeel couldn’t help but open his mouth: "Old grandpa, you said the Gold Dragon God knows alchemy, and then? In what way was his strength ’abstract’? And how was it different from other dragons?"

He was still more concerned about the aftermath of the ’Dragon Slayer Campaign.’

"The Gold Dragon God used alchemy to refine his own body into an alchemy guild named ’Gold Owl’."

Hearing this, everyone widened their eyes at the same time, their necks extending forward as their faces revealed expressions of disbelief, clearly left baffled and completely muddled by Weston’s words.

"Refined into a guild?"

"How do you do that? Specifically, what kind of effect does it have?"

Among the blank and bewildered faces one by one, only Jellal was thoughtful: "Could it be refining the body into a guild stronghold?"

"Just about. The Gold Dragon God refined his own body into a guild, and his consciousness was also attached within it, becoming an exceptionally abstract concept, which was why there was no way to kill or eliminate him like dealing with other giant dragons."

"Fortunately, within our team, there was someone who excelled at using ’Separation Enchantment’!"

"We separated the Gold Dragon God’s consciousness from ’Gold Owl’ and then gave him a physical body to restrict him before completely defeating him!"

This kind of method sounded mysterious to everyone’s ears, but it didn’t prevent them from thinking it was awesome.

"Compared to the other several giant dragons, the ’legacy’ of the Gold Dragon God was visibly the most—a massive amount of gold."

Weston recalled for a moment: "Just about... the same as ten mountains."

"What?!"

"Ten... ten mountains of gold?!"

This wealth, massive to the point of being terrifying, instantly shocked everyone into a daze on the spot. Even Happy, who had been gnawing on grilled fish from start to finish, stopped the movements of his mouth.

"How many fish can this buy?!"

"I estimate we wouldn’t be able to finish eating it even in a hundred lifetimes!"

Hearing this, everyone was completely filled with black lines: "Truly a cat lacking worldly knowledge. With such a massive amount of wealth, your first reaction is actually to use it all to buy fish?"

"Then, what... old grandpa, how did you guys handle that gold afterward?"

Weston said: "We used a portion of that gold to help the residents of the Northern Continent rebuild their homes that were destroyed during that campaign..."

Everyone nodded repeatedly, over a dozen eyes tightly locked onto Weston: "Mmh mmh mmh... and then?"

In their view, Weston and his partners were visibly ’good people.’ Using that gold to help the local residents harmed by the dragons was perfectly normal!

However, what they cared more about was the wording of "a portion" from Weston’s mouth. Since rebuilding their homes only used a portion, what about the remaining portion?

Weston said: "Then, the people who participated in this campaign each took away a portion of the gold."

This...

After going through thousands of hardships to defeat the six Dragon Gods, taking some reward was also normal!

Everyone continued to nod: "Mmh mmh mmh... and then?"

"There is no then!"

Weston’s answer was concise and merciless: "Everyone divided up all the remaining gold."

Everyone: "..."

Their hearts full of expectation instantly plummeted a thousand chang!

"So much gold, you guys divided it all up?!"

"That was ten mountains of gold, you know!!"

"Just how many people did you guys have?!"

Everyone couldn’t help but question out loud, their voices still carrying twelve parts of unwillingness to believe.

"How many people?"

"Well, you guys don’t worry about that, anyway, the final result is that everyone carried it all away!"

As Weston spoke, the corners of his mouth tilted up with an irrepressible curve.
